"Alright, system," Kent murmured, cracking his knuckles. "Where’s my next big adventure? Could you give me something exciting? And, of course, something with lots of SP opportunities."

In response to Kent’s demand. System, give him a notification.

Ding!

System Notification:

"Host, incoming enemies detected.

Cultivation levels:

Level-D (Elite Skeleton Knight Captain)

Level-C (Skeleton Knight Leader)."

Kent’s eyes widened, and he immediately grinned. "A Level-C Skeleton? Finally, someone who might actually make me break a sweat! Let’s see what they’ve got." Kent jumps right and left to relax his joints.

The sound of hooves echoed in the distance, growing louder with each passing second.

Clip-clop. Clip-clop.

🌬️ The wind howled through the ruins, carrying the faint rattling of bones.

Clip-clop. Clip-clop.

Clip-clop. Clip-clop.

From the fog emerged a group of skeleton Knight cavalry, their hollow eyes glowing with eerie blue flames. Each skeleton Knight rider sat atop a skeletal horse, the creatures’ bones creaking with every movement.

At the front of the group rode the Skeleton Knight Captain, its skeletal frame draped in ancient, rusted armour. A tattered black cape fluttered behind it, and in its bony hand, it wielded a menacing lance that glowed with a faint spiritual energy.

Behind the captain was the Skeleton Knights Leader, towering over the rest of the group. Its armour was polished and adorned with dark rune carving, and it carried a massive two-handed sword that seemed too heavy for its skeletal frame.

"Whoa," Kent muttered, taking a step back. "Now that’s what I call an entrance. You guys really know how to set the mood."

The Skeleton Captain raised its lance, pointing it at Kent. The blue flames in its eyes flared brighter, and it let out a bone-chilling screech.

SKREEEEE!

"Oh, that’s cute," Kent said, smirking. "You’re trying to intimidate me. Newsflash, boney: I’ve fought ghouls, monsters, and even people. You’re just another SP piñata to me."

Clip-clop. Clip-clop.

The Skeleton Knight Captain charged first, its lance aimed straight at Kent’s chest. The skeletal horse’s hooves pounded against the ground, leaving cracks in the earth.

"Let’s see what you’ve got!" Kent yelled, summoning his hellfire. Black flames erupted around his fists, crackling with power.

The lance thrust forward, but Kent sidestepped at the last second, activating Flashing Step to appear behind the captain.

WHOOSH! 💨

"Surprise!" Kent shouted, delivering a fiery uppercut to the Skeleton Captain’s back.

👊

BOOM!

💥

The captain was sent flying off its horse, crashing into a pile of rubble.

The other skeleton cavalry charged at Kent, their glowing eyes locking onto him as their horses reared back.

"Alright, let’s make this fun," Kent said, grabbing a broken sword from his bag. He twirled it in his hand like a baton. "En garde, you walking bone racks!"

One of the skeleton riders swung its sword at him, but Kent ducked, spinning around to slap the skeleton’s skull with the flat side of the broken sword.

THWACK!

The skull popped off and rolled on the ground, its glowing eyes blinking in confusion.

Kent laughed, kicking the skull back toward the rider. "Oops, dropped something!"

While Kent was busy toying with the riders, the Skeleton Knight Leader dismounted its horse, its glowing blue eyes fixed on him.

"Uh-oh," Kent said, noticing the leader’s massive sword. "Looks like the boss is joining the party."

The leader swung its sword, sending a wave of spiritual energy slashing toward Kent.

"Whoa!" Kent yelled, activating Flashing Step to dodge the attack. The energy wave struck a nearby pillar, splitting it in half.

"Okay, that was close," Kent muttered, wiping sweat from his brow. "Time to get serious."

He coated his Soul Slasher dagger in hellfire, the black flames making the blade glow ominously.

"Alright, Mr. Big Bones," Kent said, pointing the dagger at the leader. "Let’s see how tough you really are."

The leader charged at him, its movements surprisingly fast for its size. It swung its massive sword in a wide arc, but Kent ducked under the blade, slashing at the leader’s ribs with his dagger.

CLANG!

The dagger struck the leader’s armour, leaving a scorched mark but failing to penetrate.

"Guess I’ll have to aim for the joints," Kent muttered, dodging another swing.

As the fight continued, Kent noticed that every time he landed a hit or dodged an attack, he earned SP from the skeletons’ frustration or surprise.

"Wait a minute," Kent said, grinning. "I can farm SP from these guys just by annoying them."

He began taunting the Skeleton Leader, dodging its attacks with exaggerated movements.

"Missed me!" Kent said, sticking out his tongue.

The leader growled, its glowing eyes flaring brighter as it swung its sword again.

Kent jumped over the blade, doing a mid-air somersault before landing behind the leader.

"Too slow!" he shouted, smacking the leader’s helmet with the flat side of his dagger.

Many more SP copied notifications. Kent’s mind just flooded with the system window and Ding sound. After farming enough SP to satisfy himself, Kent decided to end the fight.

He activated Flashing Step, appearing in front of the Skeleton Leader in an instant.

With a roar, he plunged his hellfire-coated dagger into the leader’s chest, the black flames erupting and consuming the skeleton from the inside out.

BOOM!

The leader let out a final, bone-chilling screech before collapsing into a pile of ash.

The remaining riders, seeing their leader defeated, fled into the fog.

"Yeah, you better run!" Kent shouted, shaking his fist.

Kent walked over to the remains of the Skeleton Knight Leader, rummaging through the ash until he found a set of armour and the massive sword.

"Jackpot," he said, holding up the items. "These are definitely going to sell for a fortune."

He quickly packed the armour and sword into his system storage, a satisfied grin on his face.

Just as Kent was about to leave, he heard a familiar voice calling out to him.

"KENT!"

He turned to see Miss Elena and a group of students running toward him.

"Well, well," Kent said, smirking. "Looks like the cavalry’s here. Too bad I already handled the hard part."

Miss Elena crossed her arms, glaring at him. "What have you been up to?"

"Oh, you know," Kent said casually. "Just saving lives, doing good deeds, and defeating skeleton bosses. The usual."

Miss Elena sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Let’s regroup with the others before you cause more trouble."

Kent grinned, falling in step with the group. "Trouble? Me? Never."

As they walked away, Kent couldn’t help but think about selling some items to Miss Elena. With his new loot and a pocket full of SP, he was more than ready for whatever the ruins had in store next.

Meanwhile, Miss Elena thinks about how Kent trounced the skeleton Knight leader. She isn’t sure enough if she could fight the entire team alone.

I am a Level-C cultivator, yet I feel like I am not as strong as Kent. Kent did something impossible. I will report this to the Nexus and Watcher, and Kent will get many contribution points. For now, let’s regroup with others.
