Chapter 150: Chapter 150: It Seems We’re Really Done For

Chi Wan didn’t hold back in the slightest. Seeing how routine all of this was, she knew that He Lingfeng must have preyed on countless girls.

Since he loved playing these games so much, she would let him have a taste of his own medicine.

A whip cracked against He Lingfeng’s body. The vines clamped down, stifling his scream and allowing only a muffled grunt to escape.

But his eyes instantly turned bloodshot!

The vines, which had appeared out of nowhere, were stronger than steel rebar. No matter how hard he struggled, they only seemed to dig deeper into his flesh, rendering him completely immobile.

It was only then that He Lingfeng finally understood why Chi Wan had shown no hint of panic, even after being lured here.

’What kind of monster is she?!’

Chi Wan didn’t care what He Lingfeng was thinking. Thanks to his depraved hobbies, she found a torture chair in the corner and directed her vines to strap him onto it.

Though He Lingfeng’s mouth was still gagged, it was obvious he had a lot he wanted to say to her.

But Chi Wan had no desire to listen. She slapped He Lingfeng across the face as he writhed, trying to break free from the chair, and snapped, "Stay still."

Then, she took out the vial of "truth serum." As He Lingfeng watched in terror, she used a vine to inject it directly into his body.

The drug took effect almost instantly. He Lingfeng’s eyes glazed over.

Before beginning the interrogation, Chi Wan cautiously scanned the room with an infrared detector she had brought along. Just as she’d expected, she found cameras in all four corners.

After destroying each of the cameras, Chi Wan removed the vine from his mouth, took out her phone, and started recording. She began to interrogate He Lingfeng, going down the list of questions Captain Tan wanted answers to, which she had saved in her phone’s notes.

Under the influence of the serum, He Lingfeng answered every question she asked. He was even "thoughtful" enough to give three answers for every one question, practically tripping over himself to spill all his secrets to Chi Wan.

Once she had quickly obtained the information Captain Tan needed, Chi Wan began to slip in her own questions. She asked about the girls He Lingfeng had brutalized and how he had orchestrated the scheme that led to people like Song Yangming being sold to the manor.

As for her own family’s bankruptcy, it no longer seemed as important compared to the information she was extracting. The evil He Lingfeng had committed in private was far more shocking than what was publicly known.

He had used various methods to bully his classmates in school, even driving some to suicide. Later, he used drugs to control those poor girls, casually destroying lives for his own selfish desires.

If the He Family hadn’t enabled and protected him, dying ten thousand times over wouldn’t have been enough to atone for the things He Lingfeng had done.

The only silver lining was that, perhaps because Qin Shi had been docile enough, He Lingfeng hadn’t drugged her.

Mission complete. Chi Wan put her phone away. Looking at He Lingfeng, who was still smiling like an idiot, she could no longer restrain herself and kicked him squarely in the groin.

Although the drug dulled his physical reflexes, the intense pain still made He Lingfeng’s face drain of color, and he sobered up slightly.

Chi Wan paid him no more mind, instead calling Captain Tan directly. "Mission complete. You can close the net."

He Lingfeng’s previously dazed eyes flew wide open when he heard her on the phone. "What have you done? Who are you calling?! Do you really think this will work, Chi Wan? You have no idea who you’ve provoked!"

A wave of panic, the likes of which he had never felt before, washed over him. In the past, no matter what he did, he knew the He Family would be there to fix it for him.

But this time, looking at Chi Wan’s ice-cold expression and remembering her uncanny methods, He Lingfeng felt a chill shoot up from the soles of his feet, making him tremble uncontrollably.

After hanging up, Chi Wan looked at He Lingfeng’s face, a mask of terror and rage. She sneered and wagged her phone at him. "I don’t know who I’ve provoked. I only know that you, and all the dirty deeds your family has done, have provoked the law!"

He Lingfeng ground out through his teeth, "The law? What a joke. You can’t seriously think the law applies to a family like ours, do you? You think calling the cops is going to do anything to me?"

Chi Wan scoffed. "We’ll find out soon enough."

Once her phone was no longer recording, a small tendril of vines wrapped around Chi Wan’s wrist, gently caressing the spot where she had been bound earlier.

It tickled, and Chi Wan smiled as she dodged it slightly. "It’s fine," she whispered. "It doesn’t hurt."

Li Xingye, who had been watching quietly without disturbing Chi Wan while she handled her business, finally spoke. "Once he’s locked up, can I kill him? Xiao Liu recently figured out a new way to use her superpower. She can accelerate organs to their absolute limit, and then cause them to fail rapidly."

Chi Wan was speechless.

"Xiao Liu is only nineteen! She’s supposed to have a Healing system superpower! What in God’s name have you been teaching her?!"

Li Xingye muttered in his own defense, "She figured it out on her own and went to Qianyu..."

But, knowing Chi Wan wouldn’t approve, he dropped the subject.

Of course, Chi Wan knew that Li Xingye had wanted to kill He Lingfeng countless times for what he’d done to her. In her view, however, the best fate for He Lingfeng was to languish in prison, living in constant terror until the day of his execution.

Soon, chaotic sounds erupted from outside. The door to the secret room burst open, and a man in black appeared. "Young Master, something’s wrong! We’ll get you..."

But before he could finish, Chi Wan, who had been lying in wait, knocked him out with a Sleep Superpower Bomb.

He Lingfeng was on the verge of a complete breakdown.

He started to wonder if this was all just a hallucination from getting high. Why else would he be seeing Chi Wan muttering to herself, then pulling a bizarrely shaped weapon out of thin air and instantly knocking out two bodyguards who were both nearly two meters tall?!

But with the door to the secret room open, the sounds from outside grew clearer.

Police sirens.

He Lingfeng began to tremble uncontrollably as a thought flashed through his mind. ’This time... I think I’m really done for.’

’But how on earth did things get to this point?’

He lifted his head to look at Chi Wan as she walked out of the secret room, her figure silhouetted by the blinding lights from outside. His eyes were filled with utter bewilderment.

「Three days later.」

The news that the young master of the He Family had hosted a drug-fueled orgy became the top headline.

The He Family had no time to issue a clarification before a video began circulating from an unknown source. In it, He Lingfeng personally confessed to human trafficking, illegal trade, and even smuggling illicit drugs.

And just as He Yunzhen—overwhelmed by troubles from within and without—realized the situation was hopeless and tried to decisively cut her losses, her husband, Song Baihan, chose to "righteously turn on his own." He publicly reported, under his own name, that He Yunzhen had colluded with He Qingyun years ago. He detailed how they used illegal means to maliciously drive private enterprises into the ground, treating human lives as worthless.

He further revealed their personal involvement in establishing several illegal human trafficking rings, colluding with foreign powers, interfering in numerous violent criminal cases, and smuggling firearms and illegal drugs.

The public was left stunned speechless.

For years, He Yunzhen had been busy whitewashing her image, engaging in a great deal of "charity" and always presenting a kind, amiable face to the public.

Meanwhile, He Qingyun, as the head of the family, had always remained a mysterious figure hidden behind the scenes.

With Song Baihan flipping the table and exposing everything, the towering edifice of the He Family, long since rotten to its core, finally came crashing down for all the world to see.
