Chapter 48: Epic Relic & Class Creation Token

Each part of the mission gave different rewards.

Together with the ten Skill Points from his advancement, Aurelius now had fifteen in total, enough to upgrade several skills or bring a single one to a very high Level.

Aurelius quickly made a mental note of it, knowing he would have to make a choice.

After his gaze briefly scanned the two Reputation gains, it finally settled on the two greatest rewards.

Relic Recipe. Class Creation Token.

The latter’s name caused a burst of excitement to arise within Aurelius’ heart as his imagination wandered.

But he recovered very quickly.

As always, he decided to save the best for last, believing that doing so would bring him good luck.

As such, he quickly focused on the Relic Recipe.

An Epic Relic!

Although it was just a recipe and not the real thing, Aurelius still found it difficult to maintain his composure.

Common. Elite. Rare. Epic.

These were the Relic ranks Aurelius knew of. Besides catching a glimpse of his father’s Epic weapon years ago, he had never encountered anything above the Common rank.

Both the Red Hare Armor and the Blood Crown Fragment in his possession were just the lowest Common Relics.

Yet the power of both was astonishing.

’Most importantly, this Mystery Cloak is perfect for me!’

’Soon, the Players will arrive in Nova Roma. It’s highly likely that they will possess some Insight-based skill to detect the NPCs’ information.’

’If I want to maintain my mysterious persona, I have to find a way to counter this.’

This Relic was perfect for that job. Let alone the Players, even high-ranking Awakeners would struggle to see through his disguise.

Unfortunately, when Aurelius looked through the Relic’s required materials, the hopes he had for the future instantly shattered.

He failed to recognize half of the materials.

As for those he did recognize, they were all extremely precious and not something he could access at the moment.

’It’s worthy of being an Epic Relic. I’m afraid that even Rank 3 Awakeners would struggle to gather all the materials.’

’This... is difficult.’

Aurelius let out a regretful sigh.

No matter how much he wanted to forge the Mystery Cloak, he knew it wouldn’t happen anytime soon. For now, all he could do was memorize the required materials and hope to obtain them in the future.

Of course, there was another requirement he had to work toward meeting in the meantime.

Glancing at this requirement and then at his own proficiency, which was only at Level 4, Aurelius reluctantly closed the recipe window.

His eyes quickly settled onto the second reward. No matter how hard he tried to convince himself not to get carried away, he found himself unable to.

[Class Creation Token (Rare): When consumed, the user can create their own Class. During its creation process, three skills and one Talent must be selected as an inheritance. The Class’s final power will depend on the inherited skills and Talents. The highest rank it can reach is Rare.]

Unlike the Relic Recipe, the Class Creation Token did not disappoint Aurelius.

Just as he had expected, it could allow him to create his own Class. More importantly, others could inherit that Class.

Wasn’t this what Aurelius was thinking only a few minutes ago?

No. Not only Aurelius, but every noble family, church, academy, and major organization would covet such an item.

Although this item did not let him teach the Arcanist Class like Players would hope, being able to teach a Class at all was already shocking.

With this in hand, establishing an Awakener force suddenly became possible.

Clutching the Class Token, which could be activated with just a thought, Aurelius had the urge to consume it.

But just then, the rays of the morning sun brushed against his face, snapping him back to reality.

Glancing at the clock on the wall, he realized that several hours had unknowingly passed since he had woken up.

He patted his forehead. Between watching the trailer and reviewing his new abilities, several hours had slipped away unnoticed.

Although he really wanted to activate the Class Token, he understood that now was not the right time.

In more ways than one.

There were still several days before the Players’ Beta Test began and they descended upon Nova Roma. Aurelius had till then to theorize about what skills and Talents he would choose.

With that thought, he placed the token on the System Inventory.

Rising to his feet, he quickly cleaned himself up and put on some fresh clothes.

Just as he stopped in front of the mirror to fix his messy blond hair, his mind suddenly stirred.
