Chapter 2981: Chapter 2500: The Wedding Day
*
Ashton Heath was a very respectful person.
He said he would take Joanna Lawrence for a late-night snack and then send her back to the White family’s home, that’s exactly what he did after they finished their meal.
This caught Joanna a bit off guard.
She laughed and said, "I thought you wouldn’t take me back."
Unexpectedly, he was quite self-aware.
Ashton hooked his lips, leaned over to unfasten her seatbelt, pinched her chin and kissed her: "I didn’t want to let you go, but we still have to obey the rules. Otherwise, your parents would think I don’t respect you enough."
"Do you care what they think?"
"Of course I do, very much," Ashton replied seriously. "They are my in-laws, your parents. If I don’t care about them, won’t you have a problem with me?"
"So... I should go back?" Even though Madam White said that it was okay if she didn’t come back at night, Joanna also felt that they should still follow the rules.
She and Ashton weren’t missing out on much these days.
She still valued a sense of ceremony.
"Yeah." Ashton let go of her, touched her head, and said gently, "Go back. But, you have to leave something for me. Otherwise, I won’t sleep well tonight."
"Leave something for you?" Joanna blinked. "Like what?"
Ashton thought for a moment: "Any personal item would do."
"Personal item?" Joanna touched her body, took off a hairband from her wrist, and raised her hand to ask him, "Will this do? My hairband."
Ashton took it and immediately put it on his wrist: "Of course it will."
"So, should I go now?" Joanna felt that she was acting a bit pretentious at this moment.
They were people who saw each other every day and slept together every night.
But right now, she seemed a little reluctant to leave.
She thought Ashton was clingy before.
She herself... didn’t seem much better.
"Alright, good night, baby." Ashton hugged her and gently kissed her lips.

In the following two days, perhaps her hairband had an effect, because Ashton didn’t come looking for her again.
In the blink of an eye, it was the day of their wedding.
Since the wedding was held on a small island abroad, people from both the Heath family and the White family set off a day in advance and arrived on the island the day before the wedding.
Among the invited guests were Benjamin, Joanna’s father.
No one was invited from Aria Rowlett’s side, as she hadn’t had any contact with the Rowlett family since the day she was betrayed by her biological parents.
Having such parents was as good as not having any at all.
She would provide basic support when it was legally required, but nothing more.
As for friends, other than Joanna during their college years, Aria’s relationships with others were pretty average, and Joanna was getting married on the same day as her, so even inviting friends was skipped.
As the brides, they naturally arrived on the island a day in advance to prepare.
*
Joanna had been to the island before, but it was Aria’s first time.
Aria was very excited about her first visit, holding Brandon Heath’s hand as they familiarized themselves with the island’s terrain. From the moment she set foot on the island, she couldn’t stop exclaiming, "Wow, Brandon, the scenery on this island is so beautiful!"
