Chapter 2980: Chapter 2499: Obviously Pitying Himself to Her
No wonder the car he saw outside looked somewhat familiar.
He always said that Ashton Heath seemed to despise the idea of not having his sister with him all the time. How could he possibly endure several days without seeing her?
Tsk tsk.
Just the second day, and he’s already unable to bear it.
Speaking of which, Ashton Heath is indeed a strange character.
He’s indifferent to everyone, uninterested in anything, yet he fell for a woman.
The key is, he used to be so indifferent towards women that anyone who knew him thought he might have a different sexual orientation.
Who would ever think that when he fell in love with a woman, it’d be like this.
He is utterly infatuated with her, spoiling her to the sky.
If Ashton Heath had chosen another woman, his doting would certainly be seen as wearing the pants in the relationship. He would definitely be made fun of.
But the woman Ashton chose was his sister.
And Gary White was perfectly fine with it.

Joanna Lawrence walked out of the villa and saw Ashton’s car parked under a nearby tree.
She walked over to it.
The car light was on, the window was half-open, and the man sat in the driver’s seat. The dim yellow light illuminated his handsome and deep-set features, so stunning that it could make one’s heart skip a beat. Even though she had observed his face countless times, each encounter caused Joanna’s heart to flutter.
As if it was their first encounter.
She thought, even if it’s ten, twenty, or thirty years later, she’ll still feel the same way.
Just like a soul connection.
As soon as Joanna approached, the man who had been looking elsewhere in the car suddenly turned his head. When he saw her standing outside the car, his thin lips curved up slightly to form a warm smile.
"I knew that you wouldn’t let me wait for you outside all night," the man with thin lips said, seeming quite sure of himself.
As if he had predicted that Joanna would surely come out.
He opened the car door, got out, and walked over to Joanna. He pulled her into his embrace with a smile.
Familiar scent coming to her nose.
Joanna was drawn to his chest, her hands circled around his slender waist. "If I hadn’t come out, and you had truly waited for me all night, would you have been mad at me?"
"No," Ashton Heath looked down at his delicate wife, "Why would I be angry with you for something I chose to do myself? But since you’re here now, I’m very happy."
"That proves you couldn’t bear the thought of me waiting outside all night."
Joanna truly couldn’t bear that.
So she didn’t deny his words and laughed, "Since I’ve come out now, you’ve seen me, can I go back?"
Saying this, she tried to push Ashton away.
But Ashton caught her playful hand, kissed it, opened the car door and said, "Not yet, you have to accompany me for late-night snacks. I didn’t eat dinner, and now I’m starving."
"You didn’t have dinner?" When he said he didn’t eat dinner, Joanna furrowed her brows, "Why not?"
Ashton Heath scooped her up sideways and sat her in the front-seat passenger position, bending over to kiss her rosy cheek. "I didn’t have the heart to eat anything when you weren’t around."
Joanna: "..."
The man was a bit melancholic and whiny.
"Now that you’re here, you have to accompany me to finish dinner before leaving. You wouldn’t bear to see your husband starve, right?"
Joanna: "..."
He’s clearly putting on an act to appeal to her.
Who said only women are manipulative when it comes to these small things?
Men like Ashton Heath can be too.
If she denied him and refused to accompany him to dinner, wouldn’t that make her seem heartless?
