Chapter 266: Chapter 266 Cold Words and Cold Language _1

Third Young Master Jun sneered outwardly, yet his heart was elated. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

This little woman has finally become sensible, cooking him breakfast specially, seems to have the potential to be a virtuous wife and good mother. He has never been interested in virtuous women before, but seeing her now, wearing an apron, standing in front of the stove, diligently cooking him a heart-warming breakfast, he finds her rather adorable!

He lifted her chin, smothered her with a hard kiss for a while, then finally released her, heading off to work in a great mood.

Ye Lu was staring in disbelief with a spoon in her hand. He actually treated her like a cook and even commented that her cooking was only passable. This damned man was truly exasperating.

Nevertheless, he was willing to help her deal with Ye Wanli after all, sigh, so be it, playing the cook it is, besides, she was just preparing an extra portion anyway.

Almost at the company entrance, she received a call from the Vice President saying that Shang Jingchen had come to the company.

Ye Lu felt a headache coming on. This man was looking for her, surely this meant no good. Better to hide for now.

She went to the hospital first and handed the thermos over to the person waiting outside the sickroom, instructing him not to tell Gu Yan about it.

Just as she was about to leave, she saw the sickroom door opened, a frail, pale figure standing in front of her, his voice indifferent as always, "Since you’re here, why don’t you come in? Or perhaps you’re just here on behalf of the Shang Family to pay respects, in that case, just leave. Hiding here, what’s the point?"

Ye Lu turned slightly pale, looking at his indifferent demeanor, her heart throbbed in pain.

Did she like to hide?

But what, exactly, should her role be if she was to show concern for him? She was now Young Mistress Shang, Third Young Master Jun’s wife and lover.

Given her current plight, she shouldn’t have shown up at all, but she couldn’t help but sneak in, just wanting to care for him, hoping for his recovery,

Yet he showed such coldness and disdain towards her, it pained her.

"You’re right, I was sent by the Shang family to visit you. Since you’re not fond of it, I won’t disturb you any longer." She had her self-esteem too, and so turned around to leave.

After all, they would never be able to overcome this obstacle, and constantly being on and off only brought more pain.

"So, you’re here on behalf of the Shang family to make me porridge? The Shang family is really attentive." Gu Yan sarcastically exclaimed behind her.

Ye Lu stiffened.

"I didn’t make that porridge."

Gu Yan retorted angrily, "Do you think I can’t tell who cooked something? I only wish that I had forgotten that taste completely, and couldn’t remember anything you’ve forcibly left in my memory! Instead of now, where the mere taste of a little bowl of porridge brings back a memory I couldn’t forget even after seven years, eating it was even more painful, I hate you even more! Why do you keep appearing in front of me?"

Startled and trembling, Ye Lu turned back to look at him, her heart bleeding, feeling utterly downcast.

She thought he still had feelings for her, but in fact, he actually hated her so much.

"It seems I shouldn’t have shown up at all. I thought at least we could be ordinary friends, occasionally showing concern for each other, I didn’t realise you’re so averse to seeing me. In the future... I won’t appear in front of you anymore." Her eyes welled up, her heart aching persistently.

She wished she had never appeared in his life, and hastily left the room.

But she then heard a servant yelling from behind, "Master, are you alright?"

She turned back in panic, just in time to see his swaying figure, and rushed over to support him.

She gently helped him back into the sick room, while the nurse hastily called for the doctor.

"Are you here to visit the patient, or to agitate him?" The attending doctor glared at her,"The worst thing for stomach pain is emotional pressure, especially anger."

Ye Lu felt embarrassed and guilty, silently obedient.

After the doctor left, she dare not speak anymore, and Gu Yan lay silently on the bed, his face pale, not saying a word either.
