Chapter 1611: Chapter 1611: Boarded the Thief’s Plane

"So you agreed to help us?" Russell was overjoyed. This girl was really easy to fool, the Third Young Master got her hooked quickly. Ji Lingkong, oh Ji Lingkong, you’re in big trouble now.

"No, sorry, I can’t help you." replied Yiyi.

Russell was so angry he almost dropped the phone. What did this brat mean by that? He had laid so much groundwork, only for her to take a sharp turn and say she couldn’t help him. Was she playing with him?

"Miss Jun, I don’t understand what you mean. You should be very clear, this is your chance for revenge, and also a time to uphold justice. Are you going to cover for this murderer?"

Yiyi let out a strange laugh. "Officer Russell, if you want me to uphold justice, then you’re mistaken. I’m not a person of virtue, can’t play the role of an angel of justice."

Having watched the Third Young Master’s father kill people since she was young, she was never a delicate flower. Although she had clear distinctions between right and wrong in her heart, she wasn’t entirely intolerant of evil.

Even though she thought Brother Ling Kong was cruel and excessive in the case of the Aries parents, hearing Russell say he would bring him to justice still made her heart tighten.

No matter how much she disliked Brother Ling Kong, she couldn’t bear to see him imprisoned for life.

It was a very conflicting feeling; clearly hating him, yet still instinctively wanting to protect him.

"So, I know nothing about this matter and can’t help. Please don’t bother me again."

Yiyi hung up the phone, and Russell was so angry his eyes bulged. Damn it, this brat was indeed playing him.

He just couldn’t understand, clearly, at the time, the girl was full of resentment and hatred for Ji Lingkong. After seeing the evidence, he thought it should have been easy to win her over. But this brat was as stubborn as a rock, brazenly lying, claiming she knew nothing, clearly still protecting Ji Lingkong.

Unable to trick her or capture her, what could he do now?

When she slowly starts noticing the inconsistencies, it will be even harder to deal with.

He quickly called Augustine: "Misjudged, this girl didn’t take the bait. Seems like we have to force it, follow her, wait for the right moment, we must get her."

...

Yiyi arrived at the airport, booked a flight for the night to a nearby tourist archipelago, intending to unwind and put tonight’s events behind her to sort out her feelings.

After booking the ticket, she waited in the VIP lounge for more than an hour, and finally boarded the plane.

This was an afternoon-night flight, so there were very few passengers.

But once Yiyi boarded, sat down and rested for a while, she noticed that even though the plane was about to take off, she didn’t see a single passenger around her. This made her feel strange.

Even if there aren’t many passengers on an afternoon-night flight, there should be at least a few shadows.

She didn’t pay to charter a flight.

A sudden heaviness settled in her heart, and an inexplicable sense of alertness arose.

Just as she was about to press the bell to ask a flight attendant what’s going on, the plane started to ascend.

Yiyi’s face instantly turned grim. If there was indeed something unexpected, there wasn’t much she could do about it now.

Then she saw a flight attendant pushing a cart towards her, loaded with rich snacks, late-night meals, and other items like fruits and drinks.

Yiyi furrowed her brows even tighter. This was a short-haul flight that didn’t usually offer meal services.

Moreover, these snacks and late-night meals appeared to be high-end offerings from a five-star hotel, more expensive than the airfare itself. When did this airline become so generous?

"I didn’t order any food." she said cautiously, eyeing the flight attendant.

"That’s okay, it’s complimentary." The flight attendant’s smile was overly enthusiastic; after all, she had received a generous tip and was naturally brimming with enthusiasm for serving.
