Chapter 1454: Chapter 1454: Ending Part Two

She wiped away her tears, exited the room, and gently closed the door.

Calming her emotions, she then picked up the phone and called the Don.

...

Night fell, and over ten black cars raced along the desolate countryside roads. On the nearly empty highways, the convoy stood out starkly, yet it exuded an eerie sense of foreboding aggression.

Inside a stretched black luxury car nestled among the escort vehicles, a cold and arrogant woman sat. Her flawlessly pure face was calm, so much so that even her pores seemed to radiate an unsettling serenity.

Her deep, beautiful eyes showed no sign of emotion, only a concealed sharpness, a glint of frost masked by resolute dominance.

She gazed coldly at the trees speeding past the window, calculating internally. This countryside location was a full hour away from the city—hmph, if anything were to happen to the Don, there’d be no time to save him; he would be left to die.

Yes, to ensure absolute success, she had meticulously planned every step, guarding against all possibilities, determined to leave the Don with no escape route.

"Madam, we’re approaching the mountain," the driver said.

Ye Lu’s gaze sharpened. She didn’t need to prepare anything further because her very presence served one singular purpose—to mislead the Don and lower his guard.

After all, who would suspect a pregnant woman, seemingly too frail to harm even a chicken?

The elite bodyguards accompanying her in the dozen cars were nothing more than a smokescreen—hmph, if you’re going to put on a show, it has to be convincing, doesn’t it? Naturally, she had to create the illusion that she was indeed here to negotiate.

Soon, they arrived at the mountain.

In the mountain stood a resort hotel, though it had yet to open for business. The developers had absconded, leaving it vacant, making it a perfectly secluded venue for black market transactions among organizations like theirs.

Ten minutes later, the Don’s convoy arrived—a low-profile procession of black cars, though only half the number compared to hers.

Ye Lu narrowed her eyes. It seemed the Don truly did not take her seriously, nor did he view her as any sort of threat—excellent, just as expected.

Ye Lu stepped out of her car, surrounded by a phalanx of armed bodyguards, an aura of deadly intent hanging in the air.

On the opposite side, the Don exited his car casually, followed by a shadowy figure cloaked in black like a phantom.

Ye Lu’s heart jolted, her sharp gaze landing on the figure behind him—it was Shadow!

Rumor had it that Shadow was the most fearsome assassin in the *new* organization, highly vigilant with a level of professional expertise bordering on terrifying.

She couldn’t help but feel uneasy that this keen assassin might sense something amiss and ruin her painstakingly crafted plans!

However, there was no turning back now—she could only adapt as the scenario unfolded.

"You’re quite bold, daring to arrange a meeting with me." The Don’s murky eyes glinted with sharpness as he appraised Ye Lu’s composed, fearless demeanor. He seemed mildly surprised—this woman carried a certain gravitas, poised and unyielding.

That ability to face the storm head-on suggested she indeed had the courage to spar with him.

Ye Lu curled her lips into a half-smile, her expression meaningful. "In my eyes, the Don is nothing more than a man, and as far as men go, what’s there to fear?"

"Ha, what a bold declaration, girl!" the Don scoffed.

Ye Lu glanced at the opposing lineup and said coolly, "Since this is a secret negotiation, our attendants needn’t come inside. Let them stay here."

The Don naturally had no desire for more people to learn about the secrets Ye Lu held against him, so he nodded in agreement.

"To ensure mutual safety, neither party may bring weapons inside. Both sides should conduct inspections," Ye Lu stated, her tone layered with caution.

The Don agreed, his lips curling into a trace of mockery.

Weapons were merely external tools—true masters could turn themselves into the ultimate weapon.
