After Ye Lu obtained the inheritance rights to the Group, the first thing she did was visit the vault at the central bank.
"Yiren’s withdrawal this time seems very suspicious. I don’t think her motives are simple." Hua Lunxi appeared deeply worried. He simply could not believe that Yiren would give up so easily, yet he hadn’t discovered any improper actions from her for the time being.
Even the media had gone silent. Previously, she had been secretly pulling strings, bribing the media to continuously spread negative news about Ye Lu. But now, it seemed to have stopped as if she had truly given up.
Yet the calmer things appeared, the more it hinted at a terrifying conspiracy lurking beneath.
Thus, Hua Lunxi decided to closely follow Ye Lu, to prevent any harm befalling her.
Ye Lu said coldly, "Whatever her goals may be, I only need to achieve mine."
Just as she was about to step inside, Ye Lu suddenly turned pale. She felt a sharp, contracting pain in her lower abdomen, her head throbbed, and she grew dizzy with rapid breaths.
"What’s wrong?" Hua Lunxi asked in shock, reaching out to steady her.
After a moment, Ye Lu’s pallor eased slightly. She gritted her teeth and shook her head. "It’s nothing. I’ve just been tired lately, feeling a bit lightheaded."
She gestured for the bank’s senior General Manager to lead them into an internal vault.
Watching Ye Lu’s face, Hua Lunxi grew even more worried. Yiren was bewildering enough, but Ye Lu was even harder to figure out. He couldn’t understand what was on her mind or what she intended to do.
In the final chamber of the vault, only Ye Lu was allowed to enter, while Hua Lunxi and the bank manager waited outside.
Ye Lu knew exactly what monumental secret awaited her, but she hesitated not even for a second, stepping inside with an expressionless face.
Two hours later, Ye Lu emerged, her face pale, still saying nothing.
She hadn’t brought anything out with her either.
Hua Lunxi rushed forward to support her. "How do you feel? Are you alright?"
"I’m fine," Ye Lu shook her head, her nails digging into the palm of her hand. While inside, she hadn’t merely examined what her father had left behind; her thoughts had raced. In a flash of clarity amidst her composed state, a wild idea ignited within her. She suppressed it with great effort, forcing her trembling body to calm.
"Let’s go back."
Ye Lu didn’t tell him anything else and quickly left the bank, heading home.
The next day, she arrived at the Group to delegate some work tasks, wrap up ongoing matters, and manage the handover. After staying for half a day, she officially went on leave.
Following that, she instructed Hua Lunxi to prepare six travel itineraries—three international and three domestic—utilizing several of the Group’s business jets and helicopters.
Hua Lunxi was furious and disapproving, "Given your physical condition right now, where do you plan to go? And why to so many places? Are you out of your mind?"
Ye Lu wearily rubbed her temples, shaking her head. "These itineraries are all set for the same day."
Hua Lunxi was startled and immediately picked up on her intention.
"You’re trying to confuse everyone?"
"Exactly."
"What on earth are you planning? You’ve been acting strange ever since you left the bank," Hua Lunxi asked, filled with suspicion.
Ye Lu offered a bitter smile. "Brother, don’t worry about me. Rest assured, this has nothing to do with the Hua Group. I simply want to take care of something."
She didn’t want to drag him into her troubles.
"I’m not worried about the Group. I’m worried about you."
"I’m fine. You see, I’m still carrying a child. No matter what, I wouldn’t risk my baby’s safety. There are just some matters that are my own secrets. I don’t want to share them with anyone. Please, let me keep just a little piece of myself."
Hua Lunxi thought it over and agreed. He truly felt that Ye Lu had been acting unusual lately, worrying she might do something drastic.
