Chapter 2832: Chapter 944: Laowa Is a Man of the Hour! When Something Happens, He Really Steps Up_3
"Now I’ll teach you..."
"Laowa, you’re a little too enthusiastic."
Murphy griped:
"Honestly, you’re kind of scaring me. Don’t expect me to buy into that battle-lunatic doctrine of yours."
"I’m not preaching at you, asshole!"
Laowa cursed loudly:
"I just snatched a badass flail and Bone Bow from The Master of Hunting, but as long as that bastard’s still alive I can’t erase the marks on those weapons. So hurry up and kill it, I can’t wait to take my new toys to the Subspace Battlefield for their first blood."
"Mm, got it. This is a kill-the-boss-for-loot situation."
Murphy pulled back with help from his thrusters to open the distance, and said:
"You really are a major villain, Laowa. So, what do I do?"
"Simple. Just follow my lead."
As Vam’s Divine Power flowed down a little, a mini Laowa holding a lance suddenly appeared in Murphy’s field of view.
He made a preparatory thrusting motion in Murphy’s vision, and Murphy immediately copied him.
As The Master of Hunting lunged forward dragging that external armor, the Power Armor already being shredded under continuous explosive counter-bombardment, The Fury swung a vicious piercing slash, and Murphy, copying him, launched the blow head-on. Totally outside The Master of Hunting’s expectations, with no time to dodge, its shoulder armor was shattered by the wolf-tooth lance.
"Again!"
Laowa was clearly getting excited.
He kept unleashing wild battle cries right by Murphy’s ear, coaching Murphy into a frontal assault style completely unlike a vampire’s way of fighting.
And it has to be said: fighting under Vam’s battle roars was a bizarre experience, yet somehow not awkward at all. Fighting with BGM blaring might sound like peak chuunibyou, but doing it in the moment felt insanely good.
"This idiot thinks that just because it used to be a Divine Spirit it can do whatever it wants, but it doesn’t get it at all—battle is my domain!"
Hand-in-hand teaching Murphy how to beat the crap out of The Master of Hunting, Laowa roared:
"Cunning, brutal hunters only get their asses kicked when they face a real warrior! Go, Murphy! Use your invincible lance to school it—cleave! Heavy strike!
Roar!
The enemy’s courage has shattered!
This is it... execute it!"
"Boom."
The wolf-tooth lance in the War Marshal Power Armor’s hands swung in an exaggerated arc; as Murphy entered a power-overload burst, the Blood Spirit-infused blood he summoned wrapped around the lance like flame. Like a flaming spear howling with rage, with the Power Armor’s thrusters flaring to full, he shot forward like an arrow loosed from the string against the backdrop of churning mire, and smashed head-on into the scarred red Power Armor in front of him.
As the flaming spear exploded forward in a no-return charge, the already fragile external armor, battered by multiple impacts, shattered and flew apart. Under Murphy’s down-driving thrust, the wolf-tooth tip that pierced in from the front burst out from the back of the Power Armor.
That single strike decided the battle.
"Rip it open! Now! It’s about to run."
Laowa bellowed, and Murphy stepped up and hammered three heavy punches in a row, cracking open the outer shell of the Crimson Power Armor that had been nailed to the ground, exposing Huggesen inside, already spewing blood and on the brink of death.
"It’s... going... to run!"
Huggesen’s eyes had cleared now; in those bloodshot, furious eyes, he shouted at Murphy:
"I’ve trapped it. Use your power... burn me! Now!"
"Hold on!"
Murphy rasped, and the Omega Program erupted at maximum output.
That mass of pale firelight even penetrated the internal structure of the War Marshal Power Armor, like a lamp lighting up within the red armor, then sheathing the machinery in light—as if the armor had been dressed in a coat of radiance. As his burning-hot fingers clenched around Huggesen’s head, the twin howls of a Wolf Person and an Evil God, both wracked with pain, echoed through the ancient swamp.
Though both were screams of agony, compared to The Master of Hunting’s despairing wails as its soul burned, Huggesen’s roar carried a distinct edge of savage satisfaction and release.
"That’s it! Feel the pain, Evil God! Feel the pain my people suffer every single day! Feel the despair of a civilization you dragged into the mire to suffocate!
That’s it!
Scream, howl, and then die!"
Within the body skewered by the lance, life already severed, within that riddled cage, on the level of the soul, The Grand Marshal wrapped both arms around the waist of that Evil God’s soul, now burning like a torch, and with all his might pinned it down in that space saturated with blood and death.
All his forbearance and pretense had been for this moment.
"Other than Hell... you’re not going anywhere!"
He completely ignored the white fire of purifying power imposed by Omega, letting the flames fall upon himself, and within that burning Purification Fire, he spent the last of his strength to set The Master of Hunting ablaze.
The other struggled, unleashing bestial, meaningless roars, but it already understood the fate that had been sealed for it.
At the instant it was fully ignited, it looked back at Huggesen, still clinging to it as they perished together in the flames, and in a voice raw with soul-deep agony, it said:
"It was you... you who shaped me! I’m your embodiment... destroying me is destroying yourselves!"
"Then let it be destroyed."
In the torment of burning, Huggesen closed his eyes and said:
"Burn away all the mistakes of these millennia and start over from the beginning. We can still be saved—but you’re done... you bastard! You dared threaten me with my wife and child! You bastard, you’re not hurting anyone ever again!"
