Chapter 381: Chapter 247: I Have a Plan! How About We Let Him Have One on Each Arm?

Jiangg Yao was engrossed in an anime series. Chen Yuan had finally given up fighting her for control of the remote; defeated, he scurried away dejectedly to the corner of the sofa.

’Seriously... a woman who shamelessly eats snacks this late at night, with no regard for her figure,’ Jiangg Ning thought.

Because she was so close to Yaoyao, the aroma of the puffed snacks was undeniable. A faint wisp of it, like an invisible hand, caressed her cheek before settling at the tip of her nose, making her mouth water and her swallow involuntarily.

The wicked, gluttonous desire was quietly being coaxed out.

Who doesn’t like snacks? Jiangg Ning liked them too, but she had learned self-control. She had to constantly battle the desire to binge, especially in the dead of night.

Her bath and her tears had taken a toll on her energy, so she felt even hungrier than usual.

’I can’t eat them. Absolutely not! One barbecue-flavored potato chip is fourteen calories. A whole bag is at least 540 calories. You’d have to walk for over an hour to burn that off. If it goes to my stomach, it’ll just turn into fat! And then I’ll have a chubby little belly, which would be so ugly.’

Jiangg Ning repeated this information in her head to brainwash herself, forcing her attention away and toward the TV screen. She also scooted a little farther away from her snacking sister.

She focused her attention.

「Three minutes later.」

She had failed.

"Yaoyao, why don’t we change the channel? This isn’t very good... How about I recommend a really amazing arthouse film for us to watch together?" Jiangg Ning said, poking her sister’s shoulder.

She just couldn’t get into this fluffy romance anime. No matter how hard she tried, it was just too sappy; it gave her goosebumps. And she felt nothing for the slightly pretentious, Japanese-style dialogue between the male and female leads.

She loved arthouse films—the artistic narratives and cinematography that could elevate one’s aesthetic sense and force one to think more deeply.

"No way. That ’romantique’ thing you recommended last time wasn’t good at all."

"What are you talking about? It’s good if you just quiet down and appreciate it. How about we watch *Love Letter* this time? It’s about a student-era romance." Jiangg Ning lowered her voice. "Just think, watching it with Chen."

"He’d never watch that. The young master is a total straight guy; he wouldn’t know how to appreciate that stuff."

"You never know. I’ll ask him." Jiangg Ning looked at Chen Yuan. "Chen, want to watch *Love Letter* with us? It’s a Shunji Iwai film, a really beautiful arthouse movie."

"Nope, I want to watch Animal World," he refused flatly.

"See? Told you so." Jiangg Yao shrugged, looking a little smug.

’Looks like even my sister can’t cure his terminal case of straight-guy-itis.’

"Just let him watch his mountains full of monkeys, his swamp pythons, and his moles digging out of the ground. The young master would probably love to move into a hole and become one with the moles." Jiangg Yao made a face at Chen Yuan and stuck out her pink tongue. "BLEH~"

"Weirdo."

Chen Yuan rolled over on the sofa and went back to enjoying his personal entertainment time.

"Sigh... this is such a good opportunity to spend time together. We can’t just let it go to waste," Jiangg Ning said worriedly to her sister, glancing at the night sky outside the window.

"How about... we watch a horror movie?" A glint appeared in Yaoyao’s eyes. She raised an eyebrow, a cunning smile playing on her lips. "Sis... you know how guys who are chasing girls always take them to see horror movies? So that at the scariest part... AHH!!"

She acted it out vividly, letting out a shriek and diving into Ningning’s arms.

On the sofa, Chen Yuan jumped, startled. He whipped his head around in alarm. "What’s wrong? Was that an earthquake!?"

"No earthquake. Go back to what you were doing."

"Oh."

"You think that will work?" Jiangg Ning asked, tucking away a slightly messy strand of hair.

"I think it’s worth a try."

"But that’s not right. When the time comes and one of us gets scared, who gets to dive into Chen’s arms? You or me?"

"You’ve got me there." Jiangg Yao pondered for a moment, then turned to look at Chen Yuan.

’Are we supposed to let him have one in each arm...?’

’That’s letting the young master off way too easily!’

"How about we play rock-paper-scissors? Winner gets to dive into his arms."

"That’s too rash. Can’t we use something that better reflects our intelligence or other abilities to decide the winner? Though, I wouldn’t recommend that either."

"Why not?"

"Because if you win, I’ll feel awful. Conversely, if I win, you’ll feel awful too. This apartment is only so big. One of us can’t just go hide in a room and listen at the wall, that..." A shiver ran down Jiangg Ning’s spine. She struggled to find the words. "That’s too twisted. It feels like... you know."

"Being cucked."

"Right, that’s the word."

"Sis, now that you mention it, I agree. If one of us didn’t hide in her room and instead had to watch the other one snuggling up to the young master and acting all cute... being cucked right to her face... that’s even more twisted."

So, after all that, there was still no good solution. There was only one of him, and he couldn’t be split in two.

The two sisters sighed in frustration.

Unless...

Jiangg Yao lifted her eyes, hesitating, unsure if she should say it. Her gaze drifted for a moment, because the suggestion sounded utterly preposterous. Twins often faced this kind of problem. Many things only came in ones, like a limited-edition doll or the last piece of cake on sale. They would place the doll in the middle of the bed or split the cake in half for both sisters to share.

The difficult part was that Chen Yuan was a living person. He could only have one girlfriend.

"How about," Jiangg Yao began, holding it in for a moment before she couldn’t resist, "when we’re both here, we don’t draw such a clear line? We can compete privately, but on the surface, it’s better to be harmonious. If we fight all the time, I don’t think the young master will like it. He seems pretty annoyed by it. That’s bad for both of us."

"So you mean, we watch the horror movie together, you on his left and me on his right?" Jiangg Ning instantly understood her sister’s idea. They exchanged a look of tacit understanding, each reading the emotion in the other’s eyes.

"It seems... that’s the only way for now. We’ll just have to let the young master get lucky and have one of us on each arm. He gets to be accompanied by two great beauties like us."

"Sigh, I suppose it’s the only way," Jiangg Ning sighed.

Chen Yuan suddenly felt an itch on his butt. He reached back to scratch it, his eyes glued to the screen of his phone. He let out a strange laugh, completely lost in his own world. The living room had become so quiet, but he hadn’t noticed a thing. It wasn’t until a strand of hair abruptly appeared on his screen that he thought with some confusion:

’Why am I holding my phone so close? My hair is getting in the way.’

Chen Yuan jerked his head up and was startled by two faces, inches from his own.

"How can you two walk without making a sound! You scared me to death!" He almost fell off the sofa, patting his chest to calm his racing heart.

Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao didn’t speak, only exchanging a glance. Then, they both reached out, grabbing Chen Yuan’s shoulders and shaking him back and forth. In different tones but with the same coquettish air, they pleaded, one calling him "Chen" and the other "Young Master":

"Stop looking at that and come watch a movie with us~"

Chen Yuan was utterly bewildered, staring at the two sisters in shock.

’How did these two sisters, who were just fighting, make up so quickly? And they even came over to talk to me together?’ He looked from Ningning to Yaoyao, feeling a bit dazed. Up close, it was even harder to tell who was who; he had to be farther away to tell them apart by their clothes.

’Eyes, nose, mouth... looking this closely, they were truly cast from the same mold. It’s pure cloning.’

"What movie are we watching?"

Chen Yuan was dragged to the sofa. Before he could figure anything out, he was unceremoniously shoved into the very center. Dazed, he watched as the sisters bustled about; one went to turn off the lights while the other changed the TV channel.

With a CLICK, the room was plunged into darkness.

"Hey... hey? What are you guys doing?" His voice was tinged with a fear of the unknown.

Then, he was sandwiched between Ningning and Yaoyao. The space on the cushion was so tight he couldn’t even spread his legs. If he moved a little to the left, he’d brush against Yaoyao’s leg; a little to the right and he’d touch Ningning. And up... well, there was no going up.

In short, there was no escape.

"Don’t be scared, Chen. We’re not going to do anything to you. We’re just watching a movie, otherwise there’s no way to kill the next few hours. Just think of it—the three of us watching a movie together. It’s a kind of wonderful experience."
