Chapter 841: Chapter 750: Medical Immortal’s Secret Transmission (5)
The dark red blade tore through the space, and the slender machine figure fell, emitting a heavy rumbling sound.
Chichu Chun kicked the scrapped Ice Wolf Titan beneath her feet and pulled out her broadsword.
The two girls entered the interior of the outpost, surveying the snow-covered outpost base. Chichu Chun spread her hands and sighed.
"Being able to build such a large base in this extreme environment, the company is indeed persistent in certain fields. What’s that saying again?"
"Pioneer spirit?"
Chichu Chun kicked upwards, resting her broadsword on her shoulder: "Discover new lands, communicate amicably with native tribes, establish bases, disease, enslavement, scalp taking, celebrating the glorious deeds of pioneers."
"The trajectory of history is always similar. In the past, they used small knives to take scalps, and now they use laser scalpels. Those outlander natives... hmm?"
Ignoring the Ice Wolf with electric sparks flickering, Xu Xiaoyou walked forward:
"Let’s see if there’s any useful information."
She used her [All-Seeing Eye] to roughly observe the structure of the base, which was divided into three layers: upper, middle, and lower. The top layer was heavily fortified with military defense facilities, patrolled by Titans and automated units everywhere. The middle layer housed laboratories and sophisticated detection instruments.
These detection instruments were connected to a giant exploration tower located in the valley.
Xu Xiaoyou could sense the exploration tower persistently transmitting and seeking information from the stars.
The third layer was the living quarters for the employees, with all the amenities of gyms and entertainment venues.
However, it was a scene of chaos there, littered with the corpses of employees lying in disarray, and many half-human, half-tree statues stood on the ground. Their faces were fierce and twisted, with tree-like arms stretched forward, seemingly having desperately run in the same direction before their death.
The base’s alarm system, sensing the crisis, drove all lower-ranking employees to the bottommost layer and released poisonous gas.
The employees hadn’t even transformed into twisted monsters before they lost their vital signs.
The two entered deeper into the base without encountering much resistance; any obstructive automated unit was smashed by Chichu Chun before it could sound an alarm.
Looking upwards, a few strands of golden light fell through the circular skylight. At the center of the skylight, illuminated by the glowing light, a virtual projection of a ’blue cherry blossom tree’ hung upside down, like a tentacle reaching down from the sky, with numerous small branches weaving across the hall.
This was the terminal of the outpost.
Chichu Chun poked her head out, somehow procuring a can of yellow peaches, laboriously searching for something to open it.
Xu Xiaoyou accessed the terminal.
After cracking the system and entering the internal system, she began sifting through past surveillance records.
The timeline was reversed bit by bit, finally freezing on half a month before the alarm system was triggered.
In the footage, a hurried man walked through the passage with reddened eyes, tightly covering his mouth and nose, seemingly deliberately avoiding the crowds.
"Good morning, Fellow Ming. You don’t look... well," a figure with an indistinct face greeted the man hesitantly.
"Sorry, excuse me."
The man swiftly passed through the passage, took an elevator to the lower level, then jogged back to his room and immediately locked the door.
He dashed to the washbasin almost obsessively, stripping off his upper garments. His skin flaked off in large patches like paper, tearing it off easily.
He staggered back two steps, and then an AI voice expressed concern in the room.
"Fellow Ming, have you encountered any trouble? Do you need assistance?"
"No, no, no... shut up!"
The man roared roughly, even startling himself because the voice sounded too much like that of a beast about to lose its sanity.
It wasn’t long before his entire body started to redden, bleeding from all orifices, his pupils taken over by a pitch-black color.
His teeth, hair, and nails continuously fell off, blood-tinged strands sticking to the floor.
The man cried out in terror but feared attracting his colleagues’ attention, so he had to curl up on the floor, wracked by painful and desperate struggle.
He began uncontrollably scratching his skin, each scratch tearing away large chunks of bloody flesh, revealing not blood and flesh beneath but solely pale, baby-like smooth skin.
The frame froze as Chichu Chun pressed the pause button.
"He’s infected with the ’blood disease,’ also known as Blood Servant plague. It seems this unlucky scientist observed an entity in the stars that shouldn’t be observed, the ’Blood Alchemist.’
"If nothing unexpected happens, this guy will soon become a mindless Blood Servant."
With that, Chichu Chun enthusiastically played the footage. She had already opened the can of yellow peaches, ready to eat alongside the ensuing images.
Just as the man was on the brink of death, a young girl suddenly appeared before him, arriving so unexpectedly that even Chichu Chun and Xu Xiaoyou failed to notice how she showed up.
The petite girl was dressed in a thick Antarctic parka, pulling her hands and feet within the coat, her face buried in the hood’s fur, creating an impression of an obedient penguin.
Xu Xiaoyou and Chichu Chun felt a familiar and profound gaze the moment they saw her.
This sense of being watched was distinctly familiar, deep and ancient, as if life itself was burgeoning in the darkness.
She was related to the "Cyan Sage"!
She exhaled gently: "You look unwell, would you like some medicine?"
"Save me... save me..."
The man’s voice struggled from his throat as he reached out towards her from the floor.
The girl tilted her head slightly, her green hair cascading down with the tips a gradient emerald color.
"I can give you medicine; the Miracle Medicine can cure anything. Once you take it, you’ll get better."
"But, *silence*."
They could clearly see her lips move, instructing something, but the sound was suddenly muted, replaced by an ear-piercing, chaotic static noise.
The girl handed the sachet of medicine to the man.
In his hazy consciousness, the man snatched it like a drowning person grabbing a lifeline, tore it open, and without care for its effectiveness, stuffed the black ointment into his mouth!
Amazingly, almost instantaneously as the ointment entered his stomach, his symptoms of blood fever dissipated, followed by the rapid growth of his teeth, nails, and then his hair.
The entire starry sky was flickering unusually; the ’Blood Alchemist’ glanced at this scene!
Before long, as the man fainted, the abnormal flickering of the starry sky faded away, restoring peace.
