Chapter 701: *Exceptional rewards*
After two hours of fighting, Axel and Kevin, in agreement, chose not to kill the new holographic creatures that appeared because there was still an hour left, and they were both already at their limit.
Kevin had just used his Stage 3 and had brought Axel under the protection of his Chains of Restraint so that they could both rest a little.
Willow had felt a surge of worry when she saw her daddies covered in wounds, but as soon as they joined her, they both drank a Legendary-grade healing potion, and she watched in relief as their injuries began to heal rapidly.
Kevin and Axel stayed like this for a good 10 minutes, and when they felt that they were back on top of their physical condition, Axel went back to fight the holographic Gods, who were now at God level 10, with Kevin’s Shadows.
As for Kevin, he stayed with Willow and used spells to help Axel as much as he could, especially to prevent him from being expelled from the tower.
A game of cat and mouse ensued, and fortunately, Axel’s speed was unbeatable. Kevin told him to train now to avoid their attacks and to use his speed to see if he could shake them off.
Axel frowned as he couldn’t shake them off, but his speed was enough to allow him to dodge several of their attacks, and occasionally he would counterattack when he saw an opening.
The remaining 50 minutes passed extremely quickly, and Axel returned to safety under Kevin’s Chains of Restraint, 10 minutes before the countdown ended.
He was mentally exhausted, and even Ashton’s remedy for mental fatigue was no longer enough for him to continue fighting.
It was by far the best training they had all done, and without Kevin’s Chains of Restraint, they would never have been able to hold out until the end of this ordeal.
The most surprising thing was that the holographic Gods they had faced, after Kevin had killed several of them with the Sacred Fire energy, became immune to this attack, and they had to constantly change tactics and weapons to kill them.
When the 3 hours were over, the holographic creatures immediately disappeared, and Kevin ordered his Necromancer and General Wizard to recall their army.
Once only his three Shadows remained, he canceled his spell, and they disappeared as well.
After that, just like on the 9th level, a silver light enveloped them, and they instantly regained their peak physical condition. Kevin also received another message from his system.
[Energy source unknown; your energy reserve has just been replenished, and all your basic Stats increased by 30 points.]
In addition to Kevin’s system message, they all also received a message from this training tower.
[Congratulations, you are the first to complete the 10th and final level of this tower.]
Additional rewards:
- All your basic Stats increase by 20 points.
- Increase of your energy reserve by 1/3.
This may have seemed like small additional rewards, but the gain of 1/3 of their energy reserves was truly worth it.
Kevin couldn’t have hoped for anything better, especially since he now needed more and more Soul Force points for his spells.
Just as they were teleported outside the tower, all three of them received a new message, and Kevin also received a message from his system that made his eyes widen in surprise.
[As you have just completed the 10th level, levels 9 and 10 are temporarily unavailable to you for a duration of 8 hours. However, you still have access to the other levels for training, although a minimum break of 2 hours is recommended for you to rest.]
[Congratulations, you have successfully completed all the levels of this training tower.]
Exceptional rewards:
- 5 Divine grade magic crystals of medium size
- 10 kg of Cantium
- 6 training towers: 3 identical to this one, and 3 that are more powerful (a few resources will be required, along with the agreement of the owner of the world in which you wish to install them).
Axel, who had also read Kevin’s system message, couldn’t believe his eyes either, and even the applause and cheers from the Black Elves who had gathered at the base of the tower to cheer them on didn’t snap them out of their stupor.
It took Willow asking them what was going on for Kevin and Axel to finally come back to their senses.
After thanking the Black Elves for their support and taking the time to answer their questions about the 10th level of the tower, Kevin and Axel found themselves alone again with Willow, Sora, Solomon, Lena, Atlas, Maya, and Peter.
Since Kevin’s system was not a secret, they informed them about the rewards they had just received, and Kevin even gave the 5 Divine grade magic crystals of medium size to Maya because Elias and Miguel had a whole stock of them, as did Mykael.
Kevin then conjured up some Cantium in his hand, and Maya, after examining it, confirmed that it was indeed the ore used to build these training towers.
Now that their mission was finally over, they could all return to their world to continue training. But before leaving, Kevin renewed the invitation he had extended to the Black Elves, Angels, and Paladins to join them in the fight against the Titans and Lilith’s army.
There was no obligation, but the more allies they had, the less risk there would be of losing this ultimate battle that would decide the future of their universe.
Maya and Peter told them that they could count on them and that they would try to convince as many powerful people as possible to participate in this war.
Their world owed a huge debt to Miguel and the Warrior Spirits, and Kevin and Axel were the ones who had saved both of them.
Their daughters also owed a debt to them, so of course, they would do everything they could to repay this debt. Furthermore, this battle would also allow them to seek revenge on Lilith and the evil she had spread in their world through Sliman.
