Chapter 695: *The honor board*
Kevin smiled at him and said, "Because your human side and Wolf side have different desires. Remember, even though we already share the Mark of the Union, your Wolf side has always wanted to mark me, so together, there was no way that this illusion could continue to trick you."
Axel finally understood and asked him, hugging Willow tightly in his arms, "Why did you ask us to prepare ourselves for the next room?"
Kevin then told them, "This attack was a soft one; this illusion was taking advantage of our desire to slowly get rid of us, so the next trial should use our fears against us instead. The damage this kind of attack can cause is terrible, so don’t forget that no matter what you end up seeing, it is not real and that you have to break this illusion as soon as possible."
He then turned to Willow and said to her, "If your shield is still enough to protect you against this kind of mental attack, you can help us get rid of them. I want to see what we will find in the next floors, and I don’t want to waste too much time here."
Willow smiled, and her wings suddenly appeared. This time, she could finally protect her Daddies, and she wouldn’t miss this opportunity to help them out.
The golden runic symbols on her wings started to shine, and she said, "I’m ready, and I’m sure that I will be able to repel the next mental attacks. Last time, they couldn’t even break through my psychic shield, and I didn’t use all my strength to protect myself, so I should be fine."
While the three of them were entering the 7th floor, Sora and Solomon, who had been expelled from the tower as they were trying to resist the pressure of the 5th floor, were watching their progress, like many Black Elves, through the honor board where their names had already appeared.
Willow was in 18th place, Kevin in 19th, and Axel in 20th, and everyone could see that they had entered the 7th floor.
As for Atlas and Lena, they were in 24th and 25th place, having just finished the 6th floor and still not started on the 7th floor.
Sora finally asked her mother, who was watching their progress too, since she found it weird that Axel wasn’t ahead of Kevin and Willow, "Why does Willow’s name appear first?"
Maya then answered her, "Because Willow was quicker than them to break the illusion, that’s all."
Sora then asked her, "So the 6th floor is to train your mind?"
Maya nodded and told her, "The 7th floor too, but it is much harder to break a nightmare than a dream; they won’t be able to continue to advance at this speed. Let’s see how good they are; nobody has ever succeeded in passing the 6th and 7th floors in one go. Even I was thrown out of the tower many times before finally being able to pass to the 8th floor."
Solomon then told them, "With Willow with them, it won’t be a problem for them to keep moving forward. Her psychic power is very strong, and Axel and Kevin just wanted to test this tower to decide if it was worth it to try to reproduce it in our world or not. So I’m sure they don’t want to waste time, and they will probably use Willow’s psychic power to help them get through the 7th floor quickly."
Maya was about to tell him that this level was really a tough one when she suddenly saw that Willow’s name had disappeared and reappeared in the 8th place. All the Black Elves then started to talk at the same time, and Sora smiled, telling her mother, "We told you that Willow has really a powerful psychic power. Now I’m sure that Kevin and Axel’s names will join hers soon."
Maya couldn’t believe her own eyes. This little girl who was a Divine Phoenix had just passed the 6th level in 2 minutes and the 7th level in 5 minutes. This was the best result for a first time ever... And as Sora just told her, Kevin and Axel’s names appeared just a couple of minutes after Willow’s, and they were in 9th and 10th place on the honor board.
At the same time, Lena and Atlas’ names moved to the 19th and 20th places, and they both entered the 7th level. Sora then said to Solomon, "It seems that we have to train harder if we want to keep up with them."
But Solomon told her, putting his arm around her waist, "Atlas is way stronger than us, so he was able to protect Lena in the gravity room. As for Lena, her light can probably block these mental attacks, so together they make a good pair. As for us, I do not dare to compare ourselves with them; we are no match for them, so we can only try to do our best to support them."
Sora sighed and said, "You are right; let’s see if Atlas and Lena are strong enough to follow Kevin, Axel, and Willow... Mom, what kind of trial is the 8th level?"
Maya then told them, "Starting from the 8th level, they will have to face opponents to test their limits. Their opponents will be decided according to their levels, and the difficulty between the 8th and 9th levels doubles."
