Chapter 645: *Let me do it for you...*
Axel focused back immediately on the threat that was in front of them, just on the other side of the force field, and Kevin then showed him his Chains of Restraint, asking him, "Can you really increase the powers of my Chains of Restraint?"
Axel nodded and then asked him, since Kevin could conjure them up at will and he could also separate them as many times as he wanted and control them perfectly no matter where they were, "Can you conjure up the original one?"
Since Kevin didn’t understand what he meant by that, Axel explained to him, "The part you put your blood in to make this weapon yours... Since you can conjure them up at will and as you have already spread them here, and in the cave where Sora and Lena are to seal them and protect them from this threat, I need the original one to be able to increase their powers all at once. That way, whenever you need to disperse them again, they will still have my Rune on them that can increase their powers."
Kevin didn’t know how to do that, but he understood what Axel wanted to do, so he simply connected to his Chains of Restraint, and like when he gave them orders, he asked them to make the part of them where he had put his blood to become their master appear.
Suddenly, a small part of the Chains of Restraint appeared in his hand, and Axel didn’t waste any time; he immediately engraved the Runic symbols that would allow them to absorb the golden particles directly from the divine energy, which would help to strengthen them against the attacks of the black ones.
There was not much that Axel could do to increase their powers; after all, this weapon had already developed a kind of consciousness and they could already appear on their own if Kevin or the ones he had put under their protection were threatened.
Moreover, this weapon was already a divine artifact and its powers kept growing over time like Kevin’s, so it was really the perfect weapon for him.
Kevin then saw all his Chains of Restraint glowing just after Axel engraved this Rune on the original part of them, and he could feel that they had already started absorbing the golden particles from the divine energy. So that was how Axel intended to strengthen them?
He wanted to use the same method he and his father used with the runic symbols to absorb golden particles to reinforce their bodies against the black particles.
It was slightly different from the Runes they placed on Atlas’ force field, which could only absorb the energy coming from attacks, and Kevin was very pleased that his Chains of Restraint could grow even stronger thanks to that Rune.
So when the Dead Wizards sent to them, as Atlas had predicted, balls of energy made from the Darkness Element mixed with the black particles, his Chains of Restraint blocked most of them and the rest were directly absorbed by Atlas’ force field, which became thicker, and the black veil that represented it was now streaked with darker black and purple veins.
Kevin then told Atlas, when Sliman stopped them from sending more energy balls, "Let’s send our first attack too."
After they killed all the men of this Ancient God and the reinforcements they had called, Kevin told Atlas to do the same when they dealt with these Summoners and this Ancient God. They would first attack them with black blades, and Kevin would also send them golden ones, but these attacks would only be a distraction to set up their true strike.
Like the last time, Atlas would spread black particles on the ground, and for that, he would use only the extra black particles that his force field was able to absorb from the attacks, and from Solomon, who was always powered up thanks to his sword. As Axel could follow Kevin’s thoughts, he then told him, "Let me do it for you..."
But Kevin cut him off and told him, "Keep your strength for this Ancient God... Sooner or later, he will try to pierce through our force shield using divine energy, and at that moment, I will need you to stop his attack. Let us take care of these lower creatures and let’s save the maximum of our strength for later."
Just as Kevin finished speaking, and even before they could send their first attack, this Ancient God sent a huge black laser beam at them, and Axel immediately opened a golden portal just on the other side of their force field. A golden laser beam, thinner than the black one but brighter than anything Kevin had ever seen before, collided with Sliman’s.
A deafening explosion resounded, and the whole mountain where the cave was located shook under the shock wave that followed.
But it wasn’t over yet; Axel’s golden laser beam was still holding up against Sliman’s black one, and everything in the vicinity of these two laser beams was reduced to dust. And so, the first wave of summoned creatures was totally destroyed just like that.
As for Sliman, his eyes had become as black as Lilith’s, and he seemed to be resisting and even be in a position of strength against Axel’s golden laser beam.
As the black laser beam gained more and more ground on Axel’s, Kevin used the same golden portal that Axel had opened to also send a golden laser beam, which immediately increased the power of Axel’s beam.
Finally, the combined power of their two golden laser beams made Sliman’s black laser beam retreat. But Sliman was still holding out, and then the General Wizard, to Axel and Kevin’s astonishment, sent out a black laser beam to also increase the power of Sliman’s beam.
Atlas then said to them, as the ground and the walls of the mountain continued to shake, "If it goes on like this, the power of your attack will destroy a whole part of this world."
