Chapter 628: *They’re here to see a good show*
They landed directly on the coliseum roof to be able to better observe the situation from there. And once they could all judge the seriousness of the situation, Sora paled when she saw the number of evil beings crammed into this coliseum.
Axel then showed them a place that was overlooking the arena and said to them, "The man sitting on that throne is indeed an Ancient God, and he has even taken his bodyguards with him, all of whom have his mark on them, and 3 of them are Knights of Darkness."
Axel then told them to use the Rune to share his Vision that they all had on them, except for Lena, and Kevin then said, "Fortunately, these 3 Knights of Darkness aren’t very powerful, but it proves that this Ancient God is indeed in league with Lilith and that he must be close enough to her for her to provide him with Knights of Darkness."
Solomon then told them, "This Ancient God and his bodyguards are only a small part of the problem... These evil beings must be at least 10,000... How are we going to fight them?"
Indeed, the stands of this coliseum were filled with creatures of all kinds, and Sora then said, pointing to the man who was desperately trying to protect the woman who was already unconscious on the arena floor where Semi-Giants, Hydras, and Demons were trying to kill them, "He is not our father; he is our uncle... It’s our uncle, I’m sure of it; it’s the same energy signature."
Lena nodded and confirmed what Sora had just said; for them, there was no doubt that it was their uncle who was prepared to die to try to protect this woman who was probably their mother.
Kevin then said, looking at them, "Do not worry; these evil beings didn’t come to fight. They are here to see a good show, and we are going to give them the best show ever... The one we have to be aware of is this Ancient God, that’s all."
Axel agreed with Kevin, and so he said in a determined tone, "Let’s go, and don’t forget, as soon as you have got them back, get the hell out of here... Willow, sweetie, I’m giving you permission to use your sacred fire energy if you need to, but I want you to stay with Sora and Solomon. Stick with them, is that understood?"
Willow, who was still in her little girl form, nodded, and her phoenix wings then appeared behind her back as she said to Sora, "I will stay close to you and Solomon, but you will probably need to fight, so I will use my wings to move around."
Sora didn’t know what this sacred fire energy was, but the name alone was frightening, so she let go of Willow, who immediately began to fly around them, and they all got ready to fight.
Axel was the first to jump into the arena and deployed his divine energy, which acted like a sort of shockwave, throwing all those evil beings and Demons a dozen meters away from where Sora and Lena’s uncle was standing.
The man immediately lay down on top of the woman’s body to protect her from the powerful shockwave, and just as he thought this was the end, he heard the sound of his daughters’ voices that he thought he would never hear again in his whole life.
Lena joined him immediately as soon as Atlas placed her on the ground, closely followed by Willow, who landed next to the woman and began to examine her as she was unconscious.
As they began to heal them, Sora and the rest of them positioned themselves around them to protect them.
The uproar in the stands fell silent after Axel’s appearance and show of strength. The Ancient God, who was still protected behind his force field, which was visible to the naked eye and formed a golden veil of protection around them, said to him, "I don’t know who you are, but you are in my territory here, so I suggest you leave while you still can."
He then added when he saw that they had no intention of moving, "This woman and this man are my prisoners, and today is the day of their execution, so don’t interfere in my affairs, and I will let you go. This is your last chance."
Axel then looked at Kevin and said to him, "You first, Babe!"
Kevin winked at him and then conjured up a single ball of sacred fire energy.
As Axel had authorized Willow to use it, it must mean that he too had the right to do so, and just as this Ancient God wondered what this ball of orange energy, which seemed to be filled with golden glitter, could be, Kevin threw it with all his might against his force field, which shattered instantly under the effect of the attack’s power.
Fortunately, this Ancient God had good reflexes, and he immediately created a second one, much more powerful than his first force field, which was enough to contain the attack.
This Ancient God was still taken aback. There was no way these powerful people came from this world; otherwise, he would have already dealt with all of them.
The Angels and Paladins were already strong opponents, and he had been able to extend his territory only thanks to Lilith’s help, who lent him a small army for him to destroy the threat that the Angels could represent for her plans.
The deal he made with Lilith was not only to wipe out all the humans of this world but to make sure that these evil beings were within his control and that she could use them as cannon fodder in the upcoming war.
This Ancient God didn’t care about the creatures that lived in this world; he could always enslave another race and put them here to serve and entertain him whenever Lilith came to get the evil beings she wanted for her army.
