Chapter 557: *So you’re sulking*

Dilan then looked at him with a frown and asked, "Do you really want to spend our evenings training in dungeons?"

Phil smiled at him and said as he took off his shirt before changing into a Drakonit right in front of him, "Why, don’t you want to?"

Dilan then sighed and looked away while telling him, "I have already told you, I’m too old to be able to reach level 200, and going to loot purple dungeons just the two of us is sheer madness... Even though I don’t doubt your abilities, you should know that mine are quite rusty." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Phil then said to him, not discouraged, "I don’t know why you underestimate yourself like that, but I will prove to you that you are wrong and that you are still a great fighter."

Phil motioned for him to follow him, and before leaving, he said, "Follow me, or I won’t hesitate to carry you..."

He had said this while taking Dilan’s chin so he would finally look at him as he was avoiding his gaze. Then he asked him, even though he knew that wasn’t the problem, "Do I disgust you that much when I turn into a Drakonit?"

Dilan immediately replied as he pushed Phil’s hand away, "You know it’s not that... But have you thought about the fact that looting dungeons, while it may seem fun to you, isn’t necessarily fun for me?"

Phil then said to him, placing a finger on his cheek and slowly moving it down to the veins at the base of his neck where his Drakonit dreamed of sinking his fangs in. "I see, so you’re sulking, is that it?"

Dilan then looked at him, and a glint of fury appeared in his eyes as he said in a cold, neutral tone, "Believe what you want... I’m going home..."

But Phil stopped him from using the teleportation talisman he had just pulled out and told him, "Dilan, trust me! Beyond the fact that you will obviously gain a lot of levels by looting purple dungeons, I’m really doing this to show you that you have forgotten what it’s like to be a fighter, and I’m sure deep down you miss it a lot. You told me yourself that during the battle of the Royal Palace, thinking that they were doing the right thing, the demons and the men under your command kept on protecting you... You see, even they have forgotten who you really are because they have all become accustomed to seeing you direct operations from afar. Come with me, Dilan; I’m not here to judge you. I just want you to be able to fight the way you want to... And if you are still not satisfied at the end of this purple dungeon, then I won’t bother you with it anymore."

Phil then gave him back the Teleportation Talisman he had taken from him, and Dilan sighed before finally saying, "Okay for this time, but assume your choice and let me fight. Don’t babysit me, or I will really get mad at you!"

Phil nodded, and as Dilan finally accepted his offer, he headed for one of the weaker purple dungeons, with Dilan following him without adding anything. Phil could still feel that Dilan wasn’t exactly thrilled to be there, but he was sure he would change his mind once he started fighting.

Anyway, if he really wanted to continue on this path and build something with Dilan, he had no choice... Sharing his Drakonit powers with him by marking him would ensure him a longer life, but it wouldn’t make him immortal, and one day Dilan would eventually die... So he really hoped that he was right about Dilan and that being able to fight freely without being judged by anyone would give him back his confidence in his fighting abilities and that he would enjoy it.

Luckily, his instincts had not deceived him, and while Dilan faced hordes of Warrior Goblins and the weaker Elite Warrior Goblins, he had allowed him to kill all the others.

In each of the rooms they went to, Phil would always first get rid of the General Goblins when there were any, and then he would kill all the Elite Warrior Goblins that were too close to Dilan’s level, and who could pause a threat to him.

After a hard fight and once the room was emptied of the Goblins’ bodies, Dilan finally sat down on the floor to rest, and even though his breathing was ragged and he was drenched in sweat, he began to smile in spite of himself.

Phil then handed him a legendary-grade healing potion to heal the wounds on his body and to give him back his strength. Dilan accepted the potion and drank it immediately, and then Phil sat down beside him and said, "See, I told you so... It feels great, doesn’t it?"

Dilan then looked at him with a dazzling smile on his face and with his eyes sparkling with life, which put his nerves to the test, and he told him, "Okay, I have to admit that it’s kind of fun to be able to fight in a purple dungeon with you, and you kept your word by letting me fight without interfering, so I really don’t have anything to complain about."

Phil smiled hearing this, and he said to him, "The dungeon boss is in the next room. It’s just him and his henchmen; all of them are a little too strong for you, but I would still let you give them the final blow so you can get more experience points. Is that okay with you?"

Dilan nodded, and Phil told him while caressing his cheek, "For a first purple dungeon, you have already done a lot more than I thought you would be able to do. If your men had seen you fight like I just did, they would have felt really awkward for protecting you back then."

Dilan then said, still smiling and letting Phil caress his cheek, "You were right... I really missed being able to fight like that!"
