Chapter 527: *Cutting off their income*
Ashton’s parents immediately shivered in fear; it had lasted only a few seconds, but they had felt the tremendous power of the King’s husband.
For the first time in their lives, they really felt threatened. Their family had always been untouchable because of the contract made with the organization and because they were the only ones capable of making high-grade regeneration potions, which were the only potions efficient against the burns of the darkness element.
But after this display of power, they sensed that things were about to change, and not for the better...
Kevin then looked at them and said mockingly, "Do you really think you have anything of value to negotiate with me?"
Kevin then, thanks to his System’s store, bought 50 high-grade regeneration potions and placed the magic bags that his System gave him on the coffee table.
Then, he bought 100 legendary-grade healing potions, and again he placed the magic bag he just received on the coffee table.
Kevin then said to them, "Please have a look."
Well, it was clearly an order, so Ashton’s parents didn’t dare to disobey; after having felt the tremendous power of Axel, they were still shaken by his threat.
When Kevin saw them widen their eyes as they checked the magic bags, he told them, "These potions will now be available on the market at the right price; of course, you will still be able to sell them, but the competition will be tough."
Kevin smiled and continued, "I will provide all the sects and Mage families who participated in the battle of the Royal Palace with a huge quantity of all the ingredients needed to make these potions, and I will provide Evy and the black market with the same ingredients for them to be able to sell them everywhere in the human and demon territories."
Axel smiled and said to Kevin, "So that’s how you plan on punishing them—by cutting off their income. I like that."
Kevin smiled back at Axel before returning his attention to Ashton’s parents, and after giving them a cold glare, he said, "Dilan told us that because you’re a Mage family, it is easy for you to make money... Well, let’s see if it will still be easy to make money when people remember how much you sold them your precious potions and magic herbs for. Moreover, from now on, your family is banned from the organization, and all the advantages you had are now revoked. Plus, you are forbidden from selling your goods in the five most important cities of the human and demon territories."
Kevin then looked at Dilan and asked him, "Is it enough for you?"
Dilan nodded; of course, Kevin couldn’t decently put Ashton’s parents in jail, so as always, he found the best way to deal with this problem.
Dilan still added, "I have come here just to warn you that Ashton is now part of the Lan family; he shares the mark of the Union with Nolan, so don’t try anything funny again like trying to kidnap him, because we won’t be so lenient next time. Also, don’t use Ashton’s name to sell your goods; as I said, he is now part of the Lan family, and I won’t let anyone take advantage of him—not even his parents."
Kevin took back his magic bags and said, "We’re done; let’s go!"
He then looked at Ashton’s parents while getting up and told them, "If you weren’t Ashton’s parents, I would have already confiscated all your goods and properties and put you in jail for the rest of your life. So don’t test my patience next time... and I really hope that for your sake there won’t be a next time; I won’t hesitate to do it."
A golden glow appeared in Kevin’s eyes, and Ashton’s parents shivered once more in fear.
How could this kid, who was somehow their new King, be so powerful? Of course, they had heard rumors that their new King was able to use all seven elements and that he was also an Absolute Warrior, but they had thought that these rumors were false, because how could it be possible, right?
But after having felt Axel’s power and now a glimpse of their King’s power, they weren’t so sure anymore that these rumors were false.
Ashton’s parents were still shocked by this demonstration of strength, and so they didn’t dare say anything. Kevin, Axel, and Dilan then left, and once outside, Kevin asked Dilan, "Do you need us for something else?"
Dilan then told him, "There is nothing else, my King; you can go rest before going to hunt the Werewolves that could be under Lilith’s orders."
Kevin smiled, and as he was about to teleport into their dimension with Axel, Dilan then said to him, "My King, there is something I would like to tell you."
Kevin looked at him, wondering if he had forgotten something, but then Dilan bowed deeply to him, and when he got up, he said, "I would like to thank you for taking my defense when Alan still thought that I had abandoned him. He told me that you had understood at once why I had to do that and that you told him you would have done the same thing as me... So thank you for everything."
Kevin felt touched, and he said to Dilan, patting his shoulder, "You’re a great father, and Alan never stopped following your teachings; he loves you a lot. I really hope that I will be able to raise my kids as well as you have."
When Kevin joined Axel after that, Axel then added and as he held Kevin’s waist, "You should rest too, Dilan, and if you need backup to do something, wait for someone to be available... If it’s really urgent, you can contact Derek and Connor directly; the others will be busy training in the purple and red dungeons this afternoon."
Dilan just nodded, and Kevin and Axel then disappeared, leaving him alone. Then he contacted his sons one by one using the communication stones, and they finally all agreed to eat their lunch together in their manor.
