Chapter 518: *The trial*
Then they heard Colin’s voice as he just appeared next to Elias, "Well, I would like to know too... Weren’t Ian and Jordan just supposed to absorb the black particles this morning?"
Elias frowned, looking at Kevin for an answer, and Kevin then told him right away, "Master, actually I don’t know how Ian and Jordan have succeeded in convincing Miguel, but Ian just absorbed enough golden particles to create an affinity with the Angelic Divine element, and those black clouds appeared just after that..."
Then, surprising everyone except Miguel, Yelena appeared right next to him, and she was once again possessed by the Cradle of Magic.
Her eyes kept changing color, and she had this bright white aura all around her. Seeing the manifestation of Magic here, they all bowed their heads respectfully, and Miguel asked her, "What can I do to appease the Divine energy?"
The Cradle of Magic then told him, "I didn’t even know that it was possible to create an affinity with both the Angelic and Evil elements... But it’s fine; you don’t have to worry, and you have to let this Divine Drakonit endure by himself the wrath of both the Divine elements. They just have to find their place inside his Soul Force reserve as they had found their place inside the Divine energy."
Then the Cradle of Magic told them, "Don’t forget, everyone, that two Divine elements can’t be mixed together, but after this trial, Ian... and also Jordan, will be able to use them both. Tell them to always use their right hand for one Divine element and their left one for the other; they have to avoid mixing them as much as possible, or this kind of black cloud will appear again, and next time they will be much more powerful than now."
Kevin then asked her, surprised, "Why would it be much more powerful than now?"
The Cradle of Magic then told him, "Because what they are doing today doesn’t go against the Divine laws of our Universe. It’s just that the golden and black particles are trying to find their place in this new receptacle. But if Ian or Jordan try to mix the Divine elements together intentionally, then the Divine laws would punish them, and those lightning bolts would then be powerful enough to kill them."
Miguel then asked her, still worried, "Are you sure that Ian’s life is not threatened?"
The Cradle of Magic then told him just before vanishing, "Do not worry, Priest. Let them face this trial on their own; they will be much stronger after that."
The aura around Yelena then vanished and the color of her eyes returned to normal before she fainted as each time the Cradle of Magic used her body as a vessel. Colin caught her, and Miguel then turned to Elias with a tormented expression...
Elias then sighed and put his arm around Miguel’s shoulders before telling him, "Like the Cradle of Magic told you, let him face this trial alone. We are all here; nothing wrong will happen, and we can always intervene if necessary."
Kevin then told them hastily, "Masters, wait. We should bring Liam here; his mark of the Union will probably turn golden and he might risk opening the portal to join Ian anyway. Moreover, he can help him by sharing his energy with him."
Elias then looked at Miguel, who nodded, and so he disappeared and reappeared just a second later with Liam.
Miguel then quickly explained the situation to Liam, and Liam just followed what Miguel told him and activated his Divine Wolf to share his energy with Ian.
He also explained to Ian through their telepathic link what Miguel told him about the Divine elements and that he was going to be struck by black and golden lightning bolts because these particles wanted to find their place in his Soul Force reserve. He also told him that he should try to send the golden ones more to the left and the black ones more to the right to avoid mixing them in his Soul Force reserve, but as he had no idea how it worked for Mages, he finally just told him that he could draw as much energy as he wanted from him and to be careful.
Since he created the affinity with the golden particles, Ian could feel that the black and golden particles inside his Soul Force reserve were kind of fighting against each other, and so he finally understood why.
They couldn’t be mixed together, so what he had to do was separate them to give them both their space inside his Soul Force reserve.
He had an idea, but he didn’t know if it was possible to do it. Since the Divine energy was in a separate layer from the spiritual energy, he wanted to try to do the same with his Soul Force reserve... But was it possible to create a separate layer in his Soul Force just for the golden and black particles?
He wanted to ask Miguel about it, but then he remembered what Liam told him, that the Cradle of Magic told them that he had to pass this trial alone...
So he told Liam that he was ready, and when Liam looked at Miguel and nodded, the latter then said to everyone, "Everyone, move back."
And when they were all around Jordan, he removed his protective shields, and the first lightning bolt to hit Ian was the golden one, followed just after by a black one...
But Liam heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that the lightning didn’t seem to hurt Ian. Ian was just surrounded by a golden light, and then it disappeared, replaced by a black one, and so on. He then asked Miguel, dumbfounded, "Master, what’s happening to Ian?"
Miguel then told him, "I think the golden and black particles are fighting over each other to be the only Divine element in his body..."
Miguel then opened his eyes wide; as his Priest powers were activated, he could see exactly what was going on in Ian’s body, and so he asked, "Colin, can you see that too?"
