Chapter 481: *Death penalty*

They were in one of Caleb’s hideouts, and no one except maybe Kelan knew about this place. It was some sort of warehouse where things that humans used to work the fields were stored, but from the layer of dust on the materials, this place must have been abandoned long ago.

Solomon really had no idea what this place was, but when he saw Ian open a trapdoor hidden by a complex seal, his curiosity grew.

He knew that this kind of seal was used to protect hideouts, but he had never seen one this complex. Ian opened it easily, though, and they went down into a basement where there was a small armory with very good quality weapons, a large meeting room, and several cells that were all empty except for the farthest one, where there was a woman inside.

Solomon could have recognized her anywhere because he had once considered her his own sister and he really thought that he knew her by heart... but the reality have been really cruel.

Alyssa was lying on a bed and sleeping soundly; Kevin’s Chains of Restraint were wrapped around her arms, as she was unable to escape anyway. Caleb rarely came here, so the Chains of Restraint had allowed her some freedom of movement.

The cell was quite large and must have been 15 m². There was only a bed and a bathroom that contained only a shower; there was no mirror, and no other furniture could be found. Ian then asked him, "I need to know what you plan to do with her. Now that all threats have been eliminated from our world, we can’t keep her prisoner here forever. Here’s what I propose: either we kill her now, or we release her and ask the Warrior Spirits to exile her to another world... What do you say?"

Solomon did not answer him immediately and instead asked him, "Why doesn’t she wake up?"

Ian then told him, "It’s Caleb; he gave her a sleeping pill so you wouldn’t be influenced by her words. Know that whatever you decide, I’ll take full responsibility for it. I know Kerry had a relationship with her, so I didn’t want him to make an unwarranted decision out of anger and regret it later."

Solomon then said to him from the bottom of his heart, "Thank you for your consideration, Ian; I will remember this."

He then said after thinking it through, "If you want me to make a decision right now, I’ll kill her on the spot. After all, she’s the reason our uncle suffered all these tortures and still has anxiety attacks and nightmares at night. He may never be able to use his energy reserve like before... As for Kerry... he will never forgive himself for the rest of his life."

He paused because the hatred he felt for her was still too intense. He also said to Ian to help him make the decision, "She is also responsible for the death of many rebels; they were our friends, our brothers in arms. They had families, and they just wanted to be free. Just before Kevin exposed her, she had even managed to make us believe that Derek was the traitor who had sold us out to our enemies, and in a very short time, she had also managed to expose Alice. If it weren’t for Axel, Alan, and Erik, I dare not imagine what would have happened to the black market if Alice had been captured... It might not have been able to survive after this attack."

Ian could see that Solomon was trying to control his anger. His fists were clenching and unclenching, and so he decided to follow Solomon’s wish. An all-black ball formed above his palm. Ian then said, even though Alyssa was still under the effect of the sleeping pill, "I, the King of Demons, declare Alyssa guilty of high treason, and according to the law of the Demon Territory, the death penalty is therefore applicable."

Ian then threw his black ball at Alyssa’s body, which disintegrated in a few seconds, and Solomon finally seemed to relax a bit. He then asked him curiously, "What do you want us to tell Kerry?"

Solomon looked him in the eyes and said, knowing that his little brother would probably feel terrible, "The truth... Kerry has to face it. He can’t feel guilty for the rest of his life; I will talk to him."

He added then, "Ian, my King,... thank you for everything."

He bowed his head to show him his sincerity. He knew that Ian had carried out the sentence himself, so Kerry couldn’t blame him, and that he had deliberately not involved Derek and Connor so as not to reopen old wounds. So yes, he was truly grateful.

Ian patted him on the shoulder, and he then saw Kevin’s Chains of Restraint disappear. Well, their job was done here anyway. He then told Solomon, "Brother, we’re done here, and I’ll take care of talking to Kerry. Do not feel pressured."

When Ian saw that Solomon finally seemed relieved, he took them back to the royal palace and led him into a meeting room where Kerry, Derek, Connor, and other demons he knew very well, as well as the two Drakonits, were present.

Ian immediately joined Liam, who was waiting for him at the end of the table, and he said to him through their telepathic link, "It’s done, my little wolf; it’s settled!" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Liam nodded slightly and asked him through their link, "Did you kill her?"

Ian explained to him quickly what had happened, and Liam after that just said aloud this time, putting his arm around his shoulders, "We’ve been waiting for you to start."

Ian smiled at him; he knew that Solomon’s decision was also what Liam had wanted. He turned to everyone in the room and said to them, "Liam must have already told you that this meeting is confidential and that you can’t tell anyone what we’re going to discuss here."
