Chapter 207: Entering the Genesis Realm
Alex took a slow, measured breath as he stared into the impossible scene before him. Every instinct in his body warned him that what he had just witnessed existed far beyond his ability to comprehend. His mind could barely process the fragments of information entering his consciousness, and yet he knew with absolute certainty that none of it belonged to the world he understood.
The only reason he had been able to witness even a glimpse of that terrifying vision was because of the mysterious treasure fragment protecting him. Without its power surrounding his soul, he would have remained completely blind to the existence of those unimaginable beings.
Even then, he had not truly seen them.
The guardian beside the egg possessed an existence so profound that Alex could perceive nothing except an indistinct silhouette wrapped in endless light and darkness. Every attempt to focus on its true form caused a sharp pain to spread through his head, forcing him to look away before his consciousness collapsed.
His fingers unconsciously tightened into fists.
"What kind of existence are they?" he whispered under his breath. "And what sort of monster could kill such a being with a single slash?"
The crimson sword light that had erased an entire supreme clan still lingered in his memory. It had not merely destroyed worlds. It had erased countless realities as though they had never existed in the first place.
The thought sent a chill through his spine.
His original concern had been how he could befriend the mysterious egg before him. Now his problem had become something entirely different.
Should he even dare to become involved?
If he accepted, then his fate would become intertwined with the karma of whatever creature rested inside that shell. If destiny truly existed, then there was every possibility that he would one day stand before that terrifying sword master whose single strike had annihilated an unimaginable empire.
The majestic voice echoed directly inside his soul once again.
"Human. I am Arishem, the guardian of Master Tiamut. What you have witnessed is the destruction of the Kaiser Clan, one of the supreme clans that ruled in the Prime Timeline."
The voice carried neither pride nor sorrow. It simply narrated an ancient fact.
"They possessed authority over one hundred branch timelines similar to this one. Their influence reached beyond countless universes, yet they chose to provoke an existence that belonged to an even higher order."
Alex remained silent while listening.
"Master Tiamut carries the bloodline of that enemy within him. Therefore, what is your answer? Will you become his eternal friend, or shall you die here?"
Alex nearly lost control of his expression.
If Arishem had spent even a few minutes persuading him with promises of unimaginable benefits, legendary inheritances, or supreme opportunities, he might have accepted with some dignity.
Instead, the guardian had calmly informed him that the egg belonged to the bloodline of a being capable of exterminating supreme timeline overlords before asking whether he wished to become friends forever.
He wanted nothing more than to slap the invisible guardian.
"System," Alex asked desperately, "if I activate the Absolute Reality level power of the Angel of Creation, can I escape from this place?"
The familiar mechanical voice answered immediately.
[Ding! Even the Prime Angel of Creation would not have been capable of escaping from this location.]
Alex closed his eyes.
For several long seconds he stood completely motionless before letting out a helpless sigh.
"Wonderful," he muttered. "Since there is absolutely no other option, I suppose becoming friends is the only reasonable decision."
His face remained expressionless as he looked toward the enormous egg.
"Very well. I am willing to become friends. What exactly do I have to do?"
Arishem answered without hesitation.
"You only need to make a vow that you will never abandon Master Tiamut, never intentionally harm him, and protect him whenever it is within your ability. Once the vow is accepted, the bond shall be established."
Alex blinked several times.
"That is all?"
He could not understand why such a simple promise carried so much significance. In his experience, vows were merely words spoken aloud unless some higher power enforced them.
The system suddenly interrupted his thoughts.
[Ding! Host should not underestimate this vow. It will bind your Origin Soul Source directly to Master Tiamut. If you ever violate the agreement, your origin will collapse instantly and you will die without exception.]
Alex’s eyes widened.
"Holy..."
The unfinished curse remained trapped inside his throat.
He finally understood why the guardian sounded so calm. There was no need for threats when the universe itself would enforce the promise.
Taking another deep breath, Alex straightened his back.
"I, Alex Moriarty, hereby swear that I will never abandon Tiamut, never intentionally harm him, and will protect him whenever I possess the ability to do so. This vow shall remain for all eternity."
The moment the final word left his mouth, the entire world shook violently.
Boom!
A brilliant radiance erupted from deep within his chest while the gigantic egg answered with an identical glow. The two lights reached toward each other before merging into a single stream of pure golden energy.
Alex immediately felt something changing within his very existence.
An invisible connection formed between his soul and the mysterious being sleeping inside the shell. Surprisingly, it did not resemble the relationship between master and servant or ruler and subordinate.
Instead, it felt perfectly balanced.
It was a bond between equals.
Arishem spoke once more.
"The vow has been accepted. Human, you shall now take this world into your Inner World. Master Tiamut requires additional time before he hatches."
The instant those words ended, the surrounding space became unstable.
The invisible suppression that had imprisoned him disappeared completely. The laws of space returned to his perception, and he could once again sense teleportation and dimensional movement.
Alex released a sigh of relief.
For the first time since entering this strange place, he finally felt that escape was possible.
Unfortunately, the feeling lasted only a single moment.
His eyes drifted toward the karmic threads surrounding his body, and his expression immediately darkened.
One of his karmic lines stretched endlessly into an unknown direction beyond perception. Even worse, the normally golden thread had become almost completely black, a terrifying color that represented overwhelming disaster.
Alex stared at it in silence.
"I really have involved myself with something unbelievable."
Leaving the island behind, he positioned himself between the converging wills that maintained the mysterious world.
At that moment, the Lotus of Creation behind him erupted with a blinding brilliance that illuminated the endless darkness.
The entire miniature world began shrinking.
Mountains, oceans, skies, stars, and continents compressed into an endless stream of light before flying directly into Alex’s Inner World. Within seconds, the vast realm had completely vanished.
Only darkness remained.
Alex floated alone inside the endless void while countless spatial currents drifted around him.
After calming his thoughts, he spoke quietly.
"It is time to enter the Genesis Realm."
The moment the words left his mouth, his Martial Soul materialized behind him.
Its one hundred and eight magnificent wings slowly unfolded, releasing waves of sacred energy that illuminated the darkness like countless newborn suns. Ancient symbols rotated around each feather while divine laws gathered into a single point before him.
A majestic portal gradually emerged.
Its surface resembled flowing liquid starlight, constantly changing between countless impossible colors that no ordinary universe should possess.
Alex did not hesitate.
He stepped forward and crossed the threshold without looking back.
The scenery changed instantly.
His feet landed on solid ground inside an enormous forest that stretched endlessly toward every horizon. Ancient trees towered into the heavens, their trunks wider than mountains and their branches supporting ecosystems large enough to contain entire civilizations.
Before he could observe further, an overwhelming force descended from above.
Boom!
A terrifying gravity crashed onto his body, attempting to force him into the earth with unimaginable pressure. Ordinary immortals would have been reduced to dust in a fraction of a second.
Alex merely snorted.
His physique released a silent pulse of power, and the oppressive gravity instantly shattered before disappearing as though it had never existed.
He calmly examined his surroundings.
"So this is the Genesis Realm."
The forest remained perfectly silent except for the distant sound of unseen creatures moving through ancient leaves.
"System," Alex asked, "where exactly am I?"
The familiar voice answered.
[Ding! This is the Genesis Realm, an infinite realm that continuously expands as every event throughout existence unfolds.]
Alex narrowed his eyes while considering the explanation.
"So this is the true branch timeline that never stops growing, while ordinary universes and multiverses are nothing more than microscopic fragments existing within it."
After several seconds, the system confirmed his speculation.
[Ding! Host’s conclusion is correct.]
Alex slowly began walking through the endless forest.
Every step carried him across land that had witnessed countless epochs, yet he remained completely alert. His purpose was simple.
He needed information about the Chaos Clan.
Even the seemingly omniscient system possessed no knowledge of their true location, which meant the answers he sought could only be found somewhere inside this limitless Genesis Realm.
