Chapter 72: REASON
Weeks passed and Maddison continued to make Monica believe she was a friend but that was going to stop soon, when she finally executed her plan.
As Monica’s name continued to grow in the entertainment industry, her schedules became more full, not giving her a break to rest and she had not been able to see Felix since she had been traveling from one country to another, attending fashion shows and modeling for brands.
Both she and Felix had planned to go on a date but she had something scheduled at the same time. Monica went to Maddison and asked her for help as always.
"You want me to cover for you?" Maddison asked her and Monica nodded. "Sure, no problem. But I have a request".
"What is it? I will do it", Said Monica.
Maddison brought out a champagne from her refrigerator and handed it over to Monica. "I want you to help me gift this to Felix, please. You know that you are lucky to be dating such a handsome man even though he is one of my favorite bachelors".
Monica took the wine and nodded. "No problem, I will give it to him but am not sure he is going to accept it once he finds out that it was from a fan", she said.
"Then you say you bought it yourself", suggested Maddison. Oblivious Monica didn’t think too much about it and agreed. "By the way, where are you guys going to?"
"It’s the Enchanted Oasis Hotel", Monica replied.

The couple arrived at the hotel that they would be spending their night in. Monica had suggested for the both of them to just use their houses but Felix wanted it to be a private time for just the two of them.
The couple branched towards to hotel’s restaurant first to grab their dinner before they went to their room. Unbeknownst to them, a lady who wore a face mask had been trailing behind them. When she sighted them entering their room, she smirked triumphantly.
"If I had known you wanted to get drunk tonight, I would have bought a red wine instead", commented Felix as he took sips from the glass filled with champagne.
"Which is why I didn’t tell you. I have work tomorrow and I don’t want to be looking like a lost and found when I wake up", she remarked. "That reminds me, I need to set an alarm". Monica looked for her phone but couldn’t see it. "Where is my phone?" She asked him.
"Shouldn’t it be in your purse?" He questioned her back.
"But where is my purse?" She asked herself this time. "I think I must have left it in the car. Give me your car key, let me go get it".
"Seems like you were too excited that you forgot your purse", Felix teased her before he handed over his car key. Monica playfully punched him on the shoulder and walked away from there.
Maddison who was still outside quickly hid when she saw the door handle move. Monica came out and entered the elevator without spotting her shadow. Maddison texted someone on her phone first before she walked towards the door. She leaned on the door and strained her ears to listen.
"Urgh... why am I feeling dizzy all of a dozen?" Felix asked himself. Maddison smirked deviously when she heard him. She opened the bag she had brought along with her and wore a wig that was similar to Monica’s hairstyle. She had also worn a similar dress as Monica so that Felix wouldn’t be able to figure out the differences.
Maddison entered the room to find Felix unbuttoning his shirt. ’The drug is working’, she thought to herself. When Felix heard someone open the door, he assumed it to be Monica so he urged her to come sit on her lap and Maddison gladly did as she was told to.
"Hmm.... did you change your perfume? Why do you smell so great?" He asked her as he sniffed her neck.
His hands roamed around her body as he peppered kisses on her neck.
"Wait... let me turn off the lights first. Am shy", Maddison tired to sound like Monica.
Felix released her and laid flat on the bed. Maddison smirked because she knew she had won. Before going to dim the lights, she placed a camera on a table and angled it towards the bed to get a perfect view. She dimmed the lights and climbed on Felix’s body and the latter aggressively pulled her face towards him and covered her lips with his.
At the parking lot of the hotel, Monica was still looking for her purse until she found it on the foot match. "It must had dropped when I was getting off", she mumbled to herself as she reached down to grab it.
On reaching the entrance of the hotel, she noticed a commotion happening. She panicked and immediately covered her face with a mask that she had brought along with her. If the commotion became viral and her face was spotted, she would definitely be involved in a scandal.
She quickly ran back to the car to sit and wait for it to pass. She texted Felix but he never replied. She also tried calling but his phone was switched off. She continued to wait in the car, hoping he would come out but he didn’t appear. "Maybe he is waiting for the commotion to die down too", she thought to herself.
After the commotion was finally settled, Monica stepped down from the car and carefully entered the hotel. There were some broken glasses on the floor and she made sure not to step on any of it. With the face mask still on, the receptionist stopped her to ask her a few questions.
Monica didn’t want to waste anymore time, she removed her nose mask and the receptionist immediately let her pass. After reaching the floor where their room was located, Monica was about to touch the handle but then she heard moans.
"Felix isn’t jerking off now is he?" She said to herself with a smile. She opened the door but found the room dimly lit. The moans she had been hearing now contained two voices. Thinking she entered the wrong room, she rechecked the number plate on the door. ’It’s the same room’, she thought to herself.
Her hands shook as she reached for the light switch. Once there was light in the room, Monica dropped the purse in her hand.
"Felix?" She mumbled softly. On the bed was Felix and Maddison. Felix laid on top of her as he drove his member in her entrance. When he turned back to look at the person interrupting his love making towards his "girlfriend", he was struck dump when he realized that it was not his girlfriend he had been f*cking.
Felix immediately pushed Maddison out of the bed as he pleaded for Monica to hear him out but she ran away. Felix had to wear his clothes first before he ran after her but by the time he could catch up to her, she had already driven away.
After that night, Maddison was blacklisted in the model industry but not before she released the intimate pictures she had secretly taken of Monica and Felix. And just as expected, netizens bashed Monica for being in a relationship with Felix. Also, for using his power to get benefits.
Monica broke up with Felix with the believe that he had cheated on her. Due to the scandals she had received, Monica had to go on a two years hiatus.
