Chapter 70: SCHEME
The couple arrived at the restaurant and ordered their meal. In the middle of their lunch, Felix’s phone rang, attracting both of their attentions to it. Felix picked up his phone and when he saw that the caller was his dad, he knew that it was time to get back to work.
"Are you not going to pick up your call?" Monica questioned him.
Felix sighed as he leaned in on the chair. "Am only asking for a little time to spend with my girlfriend for goodness sake."
Monica was about to remark but then her own phone rang, it was her manager. "Our lunch is cut quite shortly", she commented as she showed Felix the caller and the latter whined. "Don’t worry. I will try to clear my weekend schedule and come over", she tried to pacify her big baby.
Felix eyes lit brightly, "Really?"
"Just make sure you cook delicious food", she replied and Felix nodded. The both of them left the restaurant to ride back to their work places but Felix dropped Monica first.
At the back door of the dreamscape building, in the car, Felix persuaded Monica to give him a kiss but she shook her bed. Her every attempt of getting down from the car is always blocked by Felix whenever he pulls her back.
"It’s just a kiss, come on", he urged her and she finally agreed. She leaned towards Felix’s face to peck him on the lips but the man had other plans. Felix grabbed her by the neck and slipped his tongue in her mouth, making her flinch in shock. He continued deep kissing her until he was satisfied and Monica was breathless.
"You are a monster", she said as she opened her bag to reapply her lipgloss that was already smudged here and there while her heart thumped loudly in her chest. Monica got down from the car and entered the building.
Unbeknownst to the lovey dovey couple, someone had taken a few photos.
"Isn’t that the car of the first son of the Walters corporations?" A girl questioned the one who took the photos.
"Of course it is. Now let me see how that rookie is going to thrive in the model industry", remarked Maddison.
Maddison Cooper was a renowned model, both in New York and other foreign countries. She was one of the first models that debuted with dreamscape entertainment when the company was just starting. She was also known as the queen of the runway. Her charm and charisma had always attracted a lot of people ever since and she loved the attention she was getting but everything reduced ever since Monica debuted.
It was always Monica this and Monica that. Whenever she uploaded a short clip from her runways, netizens would always comment that she should walk on the runway with Monica. No matter where she went, Monica’s name would always be mentioned and she despised it so much.
Maddison was an orphan who never had anyone to help her out when she was still new but luckily for her, she instantly gained popularity and she broke some world records. But now, Monica was the one breaking the records, surpassing her. She also believed that Monica didn’t work hard for anything and it was just her boyfriend, Felix who helped her achieve her dreams.
"Ooh, what do you plan to do?" Stella, the rookie asked her and Maddison glared at her, making her immediately keep mute.
Maddison played with the phone in her hand and smirked deviously, "You’ll see".
Stella followed suit and smirked deviously. She had debuted the same year as Monica but her fan base haven’t even reached half of Monica’s fan base which made her blood boil with jealousy.
Monica arrived at the set and just as she had expected, everyone was waiting for her.
"Where have you been? I’ve been trying to reach you", Said her manager.
She quickly apologized to them and they continued the shoot until they were through with it.
The next day, Monica had already arrived at the company with her bottled water, while wearing some working out clothes that consisted of a sports bra and leggings and she strode towards the company’s gym.
Upon arriving, she settled her things aside and started her workout session. As a model, it is very compulsory to be in a fit shape as it would help in achieving fame quickly. Even if one had a beautiful face but an unfit body, she would be brushed aside while the ones with the fit body would be idolized.
As she continued to lift a dumbbell and admire herself from the mirror, she noticed the infamous Maddison Cooper walking towards her.
"Hi, Monica", greeted Maddison with a sweet smile as she stretched out her hand for a friendly handshake.
Monica was a little dazed for a few moment before she stretched out her own hand to accept it. "Hi", she replied.
"Mind if I join you?" Maddison asked and Monica gladly shook her head.
"No, I don’t mind".
Maddison was her favorite model and she had thought that the both of them would never meet due to her strict schedules but here she was, asking if she could work out with her. She nearly squeaked in joy.
Together, the both of them continued their workout sessions until they were sweating buckets. They took their shower and waited for each of their managers.
"Let’s hang out sometime. You know, just you and me. I actually have something to show you", Said Maddison as she continued to put up a smile.
Monica was shocked again, without any second thoughts, she agreed. She was living the life of any other fan out there who wanted to be in her shoes.
"Sure, just say when", Said Monica.
Maddison thought for a moment before replying, "When you are free, let me know. How about this, give me your phone number so we can still be in touch", she suggested.
The both of them exchanged digits and waved themselves a good bye when their managers arrived.
