Chapter 375: SHY MUM
Erika arrived at the mansion and saw Jake playing with John and Luca together, while Jude supervised them. She watched them for a little while before she walked back inside the house.
Opening the door to her room, she noticed a figure inside. Sneakily, she hugged the person from behind, catching them off guard.
"You are home early," she commented as she took a deep breath before releasing it.
"Not really, it’s already dinner time. I was wondering where you’d gone but Jude said you didn’t say anything," Erika replied, turning around so that she could hug him more properly. He nuzzled his nose in her neck to breathe in her scent before he asked, "Are you okay?"
Erika nodded as she continued to hug Ethan tightly but he didn’t mind.
"I went to see Felicia in jail today," she commented, looking up at him she noticed how his hand that was about to stroke her hair paused midair. "And she wants to see Jake."
"Does Jake want to see her?" Ethan asked and resumed stroking her hair. Erika shook her head.
"I haven’t asked him yet, but isn’t it weird that he has never asked anything concerning Felicia yet? Even when we were coming back from seeing Adrian, he didn’t for once ask about his mother or how she was doing or where she was." She shared her worry with him since Jake’s attitude was a bit weird.
"Isn’t it better that way?" Ethan asked and Erika cocked an eyebrow at him. "I mean, Felicia doesn’t care about the kid, and it seems you have been able to perform the role of a mother in his life long enough for him not to be curious about his birth mother anymore," he explained his thoughts.
Back when Jake was still in the orphanage, Erika made sure to visit him even if it was 5 days in a week and the both of them had gotten along quite quickly before Jake suddenly started calling her aunt.
"Sometimes I fear he will start calling me mother soon."
"And why would you? Isn’t that a good thing? The boy has gotten close to you and the boys and right now, I just hope Felicia doesn’t do anything to him if he wants to go see her," said Ethan.
Erika released him from the hug and walked towards the mirror to remove her jewelry.
"You are right about that. But don’t worry, I will be there to keep an eye on her and if she demands that Jake should visit her every day, I will warn her." She replied while Ethan nodded in understanding.
"So how did Jake react when he saw Adrain for the first time?" He asked, curious.
Erika glanced at him through the mirror before she replied.
"He didn’t react much but didn’t retaliate when Adrain hugged him. He was quiet throughout the talk but whenever Adrain asked him a question, he would respond by nodding his head," Erika explained.
When she was done removing her jewelry, she walked back to Ethan and circled her arm around his neck, forcing him to bend down while she stood on her toes before landing a peck on his lips.
Ethan hummed in delight before he wrapped his hand around her waist and tried to deepen the kiss but Erika moved away quickly, teasing him.
"I need to go take a shower." She said and tried running away from him but Ethan had already wrapped his hands around her waist so when she tried to escape, he tightened the hold, placed his hands behind her head, and pulled her in for a kiss.
He started by nibbling on her bottom lip before sucking it into his mouth and then slipped his tongue into her mouth to taste her.
After a while of kissing, Erika patted him on the chest, indicating she was out of breath but Ethan didn’t respond and continued to kiss her senseless.
Suddenly, the door sprang open and the voice of a young boy could be heard.
"Mom, John took my race car and has refused to give it back to me because he said he likes it," Luca complained and Erika could only hope that he didn’t see his parents making out a moment ago. Luca paused for a moment and eyed his mother, "What were the both of you doing?" He asked them.
Ethan smirked, knowing how curious Luca was. He had always been the curious one out of the two of them and his curiosity can be worrying sometimes.
But before he could reply, he heard Luca ask,
"The both of you were kissing right?"
Out of embarrassment, Erika quickly ran into the bathroom to take a shower and left Ethan to handle the situation. When he saw her actions, he couldn’t help but smile.
This wasn’t the first time that they had been caught kissing but somehow, she always ends up shy whenever it happens.
Being left with no other option, Ethan wakes Luca, picks the boy up, and walks out of the room.
"How many times do I have to remind you to knock before you open a door?" Ethan asked as they walked down the flight of stairs, heading towards their playground.
Luca facepalmed himself before he apologized.
"I’m sorry about that, I forgot because John took my toy and didn’t want to give it back."
Ethan nodded, thinking that was the end of the matter but unfortunately, Luca still brought up the scene he witnessed a minute ago.
"Were you kissing mum?" He asked and Ethan nodded. "Hmm," Luca smirked, looking at Ethan while the latter raised his eyebrows, confused.
"What?" Ethan asked.
"I was just wondering, this is not the first time that I’ve seen you kissing mum but why does she always run away when we see the both of you do it?" He asked innocently which led to Ethan chuckling.
"That’s because your mum is still very shy about it, but don’t ask her this question because she’s only going to be more shy about it." He said and Luca nodded.
