Chapter 334: THREE MONTHS LATER

"Any lead on where they’ve been?" Viper asked Luke who’d just walked into their hideout. The heavy man shook his head and replied,

"No. We’ve searched the entire area but there wasn’t a trace of either one of them. It could be that they are just messing with us. It’s been three whole months and they are still hiding, not a single trace on them."

"You are probably right," said Viper. "Adrain doesn’t know who he’s messing with. If he thinks that he is safe by going missing for three whole months without any trace, then it’s good if he continues to believe that. So that when we catch him, he’s going to which he never ran away in the first place."

Silence enveloped the whole area while Viper continued to think of ways he was going to catch Adrian.

Three months have passed since he got the news that Adrian had escaped with Felicia. Erika was still in Boston and her family had started to look for her while Edward had texted for them to meet up. It was obvious to him that he wanted to know if he was the one to take Erika away or if it was her ex-husband.

Viper had replied, saying he had been out of town at the time when Erika had been kidnapped and that he didn’t have anything to do with it then pushed the blame on Adrain so that they would let him be and indirectly help him in looking for Adrian.

He didn’t believe that they believed his words at all but since it was proven that Adrian and Felicia had escaped, that made them believe him a little but he was still a criminal and Edward had been keeping a close eye on him.

"We are going back to Boston, arrange a ride now," he ordered after a few heartbeats.

"Okay boss," Lucky replied and carried on to do as he’d been told.

"I miss her so much. I need to see her as soon as possible," Viper mumbled under her breath after Luke was out of his sight.

At the terrace, Erika absentmindedly stared at the trees that would always dance around in joy when the evening cool wind would blow on them. Her eyes were empty, filled with nothing but sadness and loneliness.

When the cold wind touched her skin, she flinched a little before a drop of tear slipped past her eyes.

"It’s been so long already," she mumbled under her breath. Hearing footsteps coming from behind her, she immediately wiped the tear away with the back of her palm and waited for the person to come in front of her.

"You’ve been out here for three hours already," Beatrice commented. "I think you should come back inside now. The boys are going to catch a cold if you leave them out here by this time and so will you," she added, her tone filled with worry and pity. She stared down at the babies who were playing with each other.

They seemed to have grown much bigger since the three months that had passed. They didn’t cry much at night anymore which was a good thing but it seemed that the more days that passed, the more invisible Erika was becoming.

"I will be inside in a bit," Erika replied, her gaze still on the trees.

"It’s already time for dinner." When Erika didn’t reply to her words, she continued. "Viper said he would be coming over so let’s hope that when he comes back, he will finally listen to me and let you go back to your family and you will be happy again."

Erika only blinked at her words and didn’t react anymore while Beatrice sighed.

"Your family is already looking for you. I wish I could have taken you to them myself because truly, I’m not in support of Robert’s actions but..."

"But you don’t want to betray him." Erika completed the sentence for Beatrice before she could complete her words.

Beatrice stilled, unable to say anything anymore since it seemed that every word she wouldn’t say would choke her to death if she dared to say them.

"Let’s go eat, I promise to tell Robert to take you back to your family. You’ve already lost weight and I feel for you," she said and started pushing the stroller the babies were in back inside the house.

Erika sighed, blinked away the tears that had brimmed in the corners of her eyes, and released a sharp breath while her heart shook in sadness.

Standing up, she walked back into the house, ate dinner, and went to bed.

The next morning, Erika moved around the bed when she felt a hot gaze on her. It was uncomfortable and choking.

Snapping her eyes open, she mumbled under her breath.

"Viper," she called, staring at Viper who was glaring at her without even blinking. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Good morning," he greeted, walking to the bed while Erika moved further away until her back hit the pillows. "How have you been?" He asked her as if he didn’t have a hint of how she was doing.

When Erika didn’t reply to him, he sighed, took a seat on the bed, stared at the sleeping babies, and chuckled slightly.

"I missed these little guys," he commented, reaching to caress each of their faces. "How have they been doing?" He asked her.

"Missing their father," Erika replied and Viper’s hand paused on John’s face. "They missed their father so much," she repeated.

Viper brought his hand back to his side and rested it on his lap.

"You want to go back to Ethan?" he asked and she nodded immediately. "You don’t like it here?" He asked.

"I don’t like it here one bit," she replied. "I miss my family and I want to be with them again."

"Go and get ready. I’m going to take you back to your family. After eating breakfast, we will be on our way. I’m ready to let you go," he replied, staring into her blue eyes that stared at him, shocked.
