Chapter 321: WILLING TO WAIT

"So she is your wife then," Edward concluded, taking another sip from his orange juice before leaning back down on the chair. "And those two boys are your sons?" he asked, noticing how hard Viper clenched his jaws but he didn’t care since he needed some answers to his questions. "Is she also a criminal like you?" he pried, wanting to get some answers from Viper but the latter’s lips were shut tight, obviously from anger that Edward didn’t know where it came from.

"You have asked enough questions," Viper said after a few beats. His voice was so low and deep that it was obvious he was trying to restrict himself but Edward was loving his reaction as a smile curled on his lips.

"Just answer them and you will be free..." Edward paused, crunching his nose for a second before he continued. "Not that you will be completely free though but you can save us some time and start spilling some words now. hmm?" He added.

Viper simply stared at Edward, not wanting the latter to continue since he didn’t want to remember the past but from looking at his face, he wasn’t going to stop until he had answers.

"She was my wife," Viper finally replied. "Now, since you are not going to fulfill my first request, I don’t think there’s anything for us to talk about. Without waiting for Edqward to react, Viper stood up from his seat and exited the restaurant.

"Was?" Edward mumbled under his breath in confusion as he watched Viper get into the car and leave. "She’s dead already?" he asked himself.

Viper sighed as he loosened his tie. "He said too much," he grumbled under his breath. "It’s a good thing that I’ve erased all of Emma’s past, he won’t be able to find anything even if he digs deeper," he added, sighing again.

Reaching into his pocket, he grabbed his phone and made a phone call.

"Are you still following them?" He asked the receiver as soon as the call was connected.

"Yes boss," the receiver replied.

"Make sure not to lose them, especially the girl," he ordered and the receiver replied before he hugged up on the phone.

Viper drove until he arrived at the place where Adrain was staying. He had made his decision regarding how he was going to help Adrain ’get Erika back’ to not have the latter disturb him all the time, he was going to say it upfront.

Reaching into the house, viper sighted Adrain on the couch but this time, the TV wasn’t switched on and he wasn’t watching any business news either.

As soon as Adrain saw Viper standing at the front door, glaring at him, a drain sprang from the couch he was resting his head on and greeted.

"Good day, boss. It has been a while since I last saw you. Were you planning on how you would have Erika kidnapped? I miss her so much already..." Adrian continued to blab without reading the viper’s body language.

"Shut up," Viper demanded after having had enough. "I won’t be pushing through with the plan to have Erika kidnapped anytime soon. We are going to wait until she gives birth."

Adrian stood, completely frozen out of shock as he tried to understand what Viper was saying.

"It will be risky to get her kidnapped since she’s not in a good condition. She’s pregnant," Viper came up with the excuse. Not for Adrain to believe him since he didn’t care but for him to get that idea off his head but he still couldn’t.

"B-but, that’s so long away," Adrain stuttered.

"Erika is out of the country," Viper dropped the news and watched as Adrian stared at him.

Felicia walked down the stairs and said,

"I thought you said you were going to help Adrian get Erika back." She shivered in disgust as she mentioned Erika’s name before continuing. "But now, you want us to wait until she gives birth?" She questions.

Adrain turned to glare at him, sending her a hint to shut up and let him handle the situation but she turned a blind eye to it and added,

"I don’t think I can wait that long."

"No one asked you. Also, know your place," Viper clipped, his anger from earlier arising. "I am the one in charge but if you can’t wait, why don’t you do something by yourself then? I would love to see you flying to Spain and capture Erika all by yourself." This time, his tone was laced with mockery and taunting.

Felicia composed herself after Viper’s words, feeling humiliated again and Adrain’s glare only worsened things.

Turning to look at Viper, Adrain asked with a gentle voice.

"Boss, did you mean it when you said that Erika was no longer in the country and is now in Spain?"

"Do I look like I’m joking?" Viper questioned him with a stoic expression. "Wait for 9 months and we will discuss this again." He added and left.

"I can’t believe this," Felicia scoffed from behind Adrain. "First, he made us wait for months because why? He didn’t tell us why, and now, he’s telling us that we have to wait till Erika gives birth. Is this a joke?" She folded her arms on her chest as she glared at Adrain who wasn’t even paying any attention to her complaints. "Hey, I’m talking to you," she nudged him with her elbow.

Adrain peered at her from over his shoulder before looking at her.

"Since he said we have to wait for 9 months, let’s wait for 9 months," said Adrain, as he walked over to the couch and settled down on it, relaxing his head as he’d done before Viper walked inside without minding Felicia’s facial expression.

"You are going to wait? Just like that?" She asked him, feeling completely disappointed by his reply.

"Sure," Adrain sighed. "They say that good things don’t come easily so I’m going to wait patiently. In the meantime, I will plan out the things to do with Erika once she’s in my arms again."

Outside, Viper clenched his fist tightly after hearing what Adrian had just uttered.

"Let’s wait and see."
