Chapter 318: GOES DOWN
The 4 men on the table glanced at each other, each waiting for the one that would open his mouth to speak first. When the staring started taking longer than expected, the red-headed man finally spoke,
"There has been a new shipment of guns from Seattle but the men there have been caught and now, there’s a risk that they might reveal everything that they know about business."
"Whose men are those people?" Viper asked, staring intently at the red-headed man as if daring him to speak any longer. The tension in the room plus the dark aura that was illuminating him was so suffocating for everyone there that each of them wondered if he had been offended before arriving there.
"T-they are m-my men," the red-headed man stuttered in shame. If his men were caught so easily, it only meant that they weren’t good enough.
"That shouldn’t result in this useless meeting then. Since it’s your men, you should know what to do to them. Get rid of them if you have to, I’m sure it’s not your first time, Joe," Viper remarked, shooting Joe a dagger through his glare.
Joe, the red-headed man glanced at his fellow men who also ended up making eye contact with him. Clearing his throat, Joe said,
"They have been caught by the military men who were stationed at the borders. If it had been the police, then that would have been easier but they were caught by the military men and I’m sure that out of fear, they will spill out everything that they know anytime soon. They also retrieved the guns. I already had a word with the senator."
Viper stared at each of coldly and it took everyone’s self-control to not flinch like weaklings in his presence. "I gave every one of you territories to rule but when you have a problem, you come to me. Do I look like some nanny to you people? I also have my problems to deal with and I can’t keep coming to these useless meetings like a mother hen who needs to protect her baby chicks."
The entire room immediately fell into silence, not a single sound being made as everyone waited for Viper to continue.
"When I succeeded, I made sure to treat each of you right but you are simply taking me for granted." He spat out, actually salivas shooting out of his mouth to land on the table.
"We are very sorry for calling you out for this but it’s quite serious. I heard that the commander of the soldiers was Edward Anderson. We all know how scary he is, even to his soldiers," said Joe.
Viper’s eyes widened slightly in surprise at the mention of Edward’s name. He still remembered that name since it was the same people who nearly finished all his men back when Adrian still had Erika in his grasp.
"Edward Anderson," he said before releasing a scoff.
"Yes, Viper." He replied. "No actions has been taken yet. It seems he’s taking his time before he strikes but non of us can be too sure about that."
"I still don’t care," Viper said after a few beats. "There are four of you here so you should help each other to deal with this problem that you’ve brought upon yourself. Like I said earlier, I have things going on."
"But Viper," a man with midnight black hair combed to the side interrupted. "We’ve instructed the senator to convince this Edward Anderson guy but the senator said that he didn’t want to drop the matter. The senator also suggested to him to have the weapons shipped to his men so that he could handle the matter himself but he didn’t agree. He has done everything to try to convince him but the man doesn’t want to let go of the weapons so easily. We once concluded to kill him but that would be a bad idea since his family is well known in this city and he has a high rank in the military so killing him would be a bad idea," he added.
Viper sighed, rubbing his hands on his face out of stress.
’I already have Ethan to deal with and now I have his cousin to deal with as well?’ He wondered as he felt the fatigue sink in him, making him more tired than he already was.
"So what do you plan to do?" Viper asked them.
Each of the four men seated on the table glanced at each other for the nth time and Viper’s face turned into a scowl, getting tired of their stares.
"We don’t know what to do and that’s why we’ve come to you, Viper," Frank, the black-haired man replied on behalf of Joe.
Even though it was Joe’s problem, they were all in this mess together anyway. If one of them is goes down, then the rest of them will go down as well since they don’t trust each other but still work together.
"Killing Edward Anderson would be a bad idea. And if the senator keeps on pestering Edward to ship the weapons to him, Edward is only going to get suspicious and suspect the senator as well. We are actually in a tight spot here," he concluded after analyzing everything for himself.
"Should we have our men threaten Edward’s family?" One of the men, seated beside Joe, with brown curly hair blurted out and immediately, heads snapped to glare at him and he immediately clammed his mouth shut.
"I will talk with Edward Anderson myself and instruct him to not bother any one of us," Viper said and all the heads that snapped at the curly brown-haired man turned to face with eyes widened up in disbelief.
"He’s a commander of a high rank in the military," Joe reminded him, thinking that Viper must have forgotten that information.
"I know," Viper bites out, his face etched with annoyance. "I will find a way to talk with Edward Anderson," he declared.
