Chapter 31: HOW ARE YOU FEELING NOW?
Jasmine was taken to the police station. Ethan drove back to the hospital to see how Erika was doing. It’s been three days already and she hasn’t woken up yet, he was starting to get worried.
Ethan sat beside Erika on her hospital bed, looking at her. She looked like a sleeping princess who needed the kiss from her Prince Charming. He gently caressed her face and whispered, "Please wake up already, I want to see your beautiful eyes".
"What are you doing?" Michael asked as he strode towards the hospital bed.
"Umm.... I was just tugging her well under the blanket ", he said awkwardly tugging her well under the blanket. "She has not woken up yet and it’s the third day. Is there a problem?".
"Today is the third day and it’s not over yet so relax will you, She will wake up today. So what were you whispering into her ears?" Michael asked teasingly.
"It’s non of your business!" Ethan replied.
"Whatever", Michael rolled his eyes as he went to check on Erika’s vital organs. "But I must say it’s must be something very interesting for you to not hear me come in", he teased even more.
"Check on her properly and stop poking your nose in my business", Ethan huffed.
Michael continued checking Erika and then told Ethan that everything was okay. He then came to stand in front of Ethan, looking at him seriously.
"What is it?" Ethan asked.
"Felix told me that it was your personal witch who caused all these trouble", he stated.
"Yeah, I have already sent her to prison and I will make sure she stays there for a while", Ethan said gritting his teeth in anger. He didn’t want to think about Jasmine now since he was with Erika.
"That’s a good thing, I wouldn’t want the life of my sister to be in danger again. Jasmine has to pay for what she did", Michael concluded.
"Who is Jasmine?" Erika interrupted and it shocked the two men in the room. When did she wake up, the both of them thought.
"Erika you are finally awake!", Ethan quickly went to her.
"How long have I been asleep?" She asked, her voice sounding hoarse. She was rubbing her head because she felt dizzy and had not taken any water yet.
"For three days" Michael spoke while Ethan quickly gave her a glass of water and he gently raised her head up so that she can drink it. She gulped it down then asked for another.
"AHH!!", she screamed. Erika tried sitting up but she felt an intense pain on her back.
"Easy there, don’t you remember that you have been shot", Michael asked.
"Oh yeah, I remember now! I was shot, you guys were the one in the car? Where you able to capture those kidnappers?" Erika asked questions one after the other.
"Yes, we have caught them and they are in prison now", Ethan replied.
"Okay so who is jasmine?" She asked again taking a pillow to rest her head on it.
Ethan and Michael looked at each other for a few seconds before Michael replied, "She is the one who planned for you to be kidnapped".
"What!" She exclaimed. "Why would she do that? I don’t even know her".
"Well, the things is..." he drawled meeting Ethan’s eye contact again.
"She is Ethan’s obsessive admirer", Michael informed.
"What?", she muttered softly facing Ethan this time.
"Am sorry, it’s all my fault", Ethan apologized without wasting a second.
"I don’t understand. Why would she attack me? I didn’t do anything to her," Erika asked looking confused.
"Well obviously, she did what she did because Ethan loves you and not her", Michael blurted which in return made Erika’s cheeks warm unknowingly.
Ethan didn’t miss Erika’s reaction and he smiled.
"How did you guys know about this? Did she confess?" She asked.
"She didn’t. It was the leader of the gang who confessed but she denied it when I went to ask her about it", Ethan replied. "But you don’t have to worry, she is already in jail."
Erika thanked them. A nurse came in to serve Erika her food and she ate it and drank her medicine. Ethan wanted to stay longer with her but he got a call from the office requesting for his presence.
He didn’t want to leave Erika since she would be alone while Michael ran his rounds but it didn’t take long before Daniel and Felix came in to visit.
Ethan went to the Anderson corporations and directly went to his office. He called his secretary, Peter and the young man came in with the files he needed to sign. While Ethan was at it, Peter came back in, "Am sorry for disturbing you sir but Mr Davis wants to have a word with you", he said.
"Send him in", Ethan said and in less than ten seconds Mr Davis entered the office. "If you are here to convince me into releasing your daughter then am sorry to disappoint you Uncle, I can’t do that".
