Chapter 306: FOOLISHLY
At the back door house, where all the lights were still on and men with guns walked around, a woman sneaked for the back door, opened it, and closed it afterwards.
Finally, inside the house, she wiped off the sweat that glistened on her forehead and placed her hand on her chest as her heart pounded in her chest rapidly.
Exhaling a sigh of relief, Felicia walked towards the kitchen counter of the house that she and Adrian had been living in for the past three months.
Opening the fridge, she took out the jug of water and a glass cup. Lifting the jug to pour water inside the glass cup, she caught a shadow move at the side, and instantly, her hands slipped and the jug dropped on the ground and shattered.
"Where have you been?" Adrian questioned Felicia, noticing the dress she was wearing and the makeup that she used to adorn her face. If he hadn’t known that she was Felicia, he would have mistaken her to be Erika.
"I just came back from a club," Felicia spilled out those words as if her mouth was on fire after a few beats.
"You went to the club, wearing a mask?" He asked, cocking an eyebrow at her. "Where did you go?" He repeated his earlier question. This time, his voice was firm and they left no room for any more lies.
"I went to see Erika and Ethan at his birthday party," she confessed, shrugging away her fear from being startled earlier and walking towards the refrigerator to take out another jug filled with water. "I saw your Erika, she looked pretty," she complimented, pouring the water into the glass cup and lifting it to take a sip from it.
Adrian glanced around to make sure that none of the men were around to hear her out. "Are you crazy?" He asked her after getting his assurance. "I thought we already decided that you wouldn’t go there?" he questioned her in a hushed tone.
"Will you relax?" She found a stool and sat on it. "I simply went there to see the love of my life and my arch enemy Adrian, don’t make a big deal out of it."
"A big deal out of it?" Adrian nearly yelled at her in frustration. "Do you realize that you went to a really dangerous place? Thank goodness that no one saw you...."
"Erika saw me," she interrupted him. "And that little friend of hers. What’s her name again?" She rubbed her head trying to remember the name. "Oh yes, Monica. That bitch called me a witch!" She grabbed the glass cup tightly out of anger as she recalled all the dirty words that Monica spilled.
Adrian couldn’t believe what he was hearing at that moment. He didn’t know if he should be happy that Felicia wasn’t caught by any of them since she was still in front of him or be angry at Felicia for disobeying his rules even though this wasn’t the first time that she’d done it.
Felicia casually took another sip from her glass cup and continued, without minding Adrian’s facial expression.
"I tried to shoot Erika though but that bitch escaped from me."
PAK!
Felicia held her cheek that had just been heavily slapped and glared at Adrian—her flaring red eyes meeting his as well.
Adrain grabbed her chin forcefully and spatted on her face. "I’ve told you many times to never dream of hurting Erika. That wasn’t what we agreed on."
"And do you think I’m going to foolishly follow Ethan when the time is right and let you have Erika?" She questioned him, her voice holding just the same anger as his. "I won’t let you live happily with Erika, Adrian."
"If that’s the case, then you better decide right here right now. Since you are not going to let me be with Erika, are you willing to die?" he challenged her and in a blink of an eyelash, the gun that Felicia had dropped on the kitchen counter was now pointed at her head. "Decide right now."
Felicia stared at the gun that made physical contact with her forehead as she felt the cold metal. Thinking that she was just holding this gun, pointing it at her arch-enemy, and feeling all the power that she wanted, she only felt like dead meat at that moment. Her mouth quivered and she had to muster all her self-control to not stutter in front of Adrian.
"You wouldn’t kill me, Adrain," she managed to say, hoping her eyes wouldn’t reveal any sign of fear but it betrayed her by shaking now and then.
Adrian scoffed before replying, "Try me."
"If you kill me, how are you going to get Erika back?" She asked him. "Remember what we planned?"
"Shouldn’t I be asking you that, Felicia? If you are not going to follow what we planned then what’s the use of keeping you alive? You are just another one that I need to get rid of."
"What about our son? I’m still his mother," she tried to emotionally blackmail him.
"Erika will be his mother," he decided.
Felicia clenched her fist, resisting the urge to spill out insults on Adrain for thinking such a thing.
’He’s willing to kill me and have my enemy nurture my baby? Has he suddenly gone dumb and lost it?’ She wondered.
"So what’s it going to be Felicia? Are you going to go through with our original plan and not dare harm Erika?" He asked her, cocking the gun just in case she dared to utter a ’no’.
Felicia glared at Adrian but quickly softened her gaze. She didn’t want to die yet especially since she hadn’t achieved her goal or gotten her son back.
"Sure, the deal is still on," she agreed.
Pressing the gun harder on her forehead since he got a feeling that she might still screw things up, Adrain warned, "I’m telling you, Felicia, if you dare harm Erika, I won’t be giving you an option like I’m doing right now. I will shoot one of these bullets through your skull."
