Chapter 287: PETTY ACCUSATIONS
"Here, have this," Felix handed Erika the lemonade, hoping it would be able to help cure her dizziness. The latter took the lemonade that was in a glass cup and without wasting any second, she gulped down the entire content.
When she was done, she handed Felix the glass cup as she said, "Thank you."
He hummed in response and strode towards the kitchen to drop it. "I’ve already called Ethan. He’s on his way here," he announced.
"What?! You know that he’s not stable enough to drive and you sent him here?" She questioned him, as worries started to grip her. She was very much aware it was her fault for drinking so many beers when she shouldn’t have and there was nothing she could do anymore. The damage had already been done.
Ethan made her promise him one time to never drink and she promised him that she wouldn’t but now that she was heavily drunk, she was already starting to imagine how disappointed he was in her and how much scolding she was going to get from him.
"Will you relax? He’s not a baby," Felix recalled as he walked back to the living room. Monica came out of another room, wearing clean clothes after Erika puked on her the moment they were able to successfully wake her up.
"I’m so glad that I’m no longer wearing your puke anymore," Monica mumbled under her breath, making Erika even more embarrassed than she already was.
"You were the one who asked us to drink," Erika reminded me before her head fell on the chair due to how dizzy she was at the moment.
"But I never told you to have six bottles," Monica retorted.
"Why are you suddenly blaming me," Erika pouted while Felix sighed. ’Where is he?’ He wondered. From the look on Erika’s face, it seemed she was going to start a tantrum if Monica didn’t admit that she was the one that led her to drink. The heavens were able to answer Felix’s prayers and they heard the doorbell ring.
In a blink of an eye, Felix was already on the door as he opened it and Ethan walked inside with eyes filled with worry. As soon as his eyes landed on Erika whose eyes had already closed, he immediately rushed towards her.
"What happened?" He asked no one in particular.
"Erika drank six bottles of beer," Felix shortened the story and Erika fluttered her eyes open and glared at Felix from a distance while the latter only shrugged at her.
"You drank a whole six bottles of beer?" Ethan questioned her. Instantly she closed her eyes so that she could avoid his glare as she mumbled,
"It was Monica who forced me to drink 6."
Monica immediately raised her hands as a form of surrender when she heard the accusation that Erika had just put on her.
"I never did such," she said to clear her name but Erika didn’t stop there.
"She was the one who told me to drink six beers," she continued, her words coming out slurry. Ethan didn’t pay attention to anything she was saying because he knew she was very drunk at the moment.
"Alright, let’s go home now," he said. "Thanks, Felix and Monica," he appreciated the couple and picked Erika up while Felix opened the door for him. They walked outside and placed Erika safely on the seat while she mumbled some inaudible words.
Ethan quickly ran to the other side of the car and pulled it open. He entered and ignited the engines of the car before driving away.
—
Both Ethan and Erika got home safely while the latter continued to repeat some words.
He picked her up again and headed inside the house after making sure that the doors of the car were properly locked.
When he got to their bedroom, he placed her on the soft bed and started to help her take her shoes off.
This scene, this scene felt familiar to him. He tried to recall where until he remembered this was how he made love to Erika for the first time. The same place and the same scenario. He grinned like a fool as he continued to unknot the sneakers until they came loose and he was able to pull them off her foot.
Erika finally opened her eyes after she had closed them back in Felix’s place because she was afraid of Ethan.
"I’m sorry," she apologized. The speed at which those words toppled out of her mouth made Ethan wonder if she had been holding those words in, practicing how she was going to say them until now.
He was very much aware of what she was apologizing for but he decided to play with her. "What are you apologizing for?"
Erika blinked her eyes twice at him, unsure if she should continue because, from the expression on his face, he didn’t seem to plan to scold her.
Nevertheless, Erika continued.
"I know that you made me promise not to drink any alcohol again but I disobeyed you."
Ethan smiled at how cute she was. Her blue eyes sparkled under the fully lit bedroom, and she bit her kissable full lips, unknowingly tempting him to kiss her.
"Just don’t do it again," Ethan pretended to be mad at her and she obediently nodded her head.
"I want to take a shower," she mumbled as she tried to push herself off the bed.
"Can you walk properly?" He asked her and she nodded in response. Ethan didn’t believe her so he stood on standby, ready to catch her if she fell. Erika propped herself out of bed and when she placed her two legs on the bed, dizziness came to greet her hello. Instantly, Ethan wrapped his hands around her waist to prevent her from hitting her head on the hard ground.
Erika had closed her eyes, waiting to hit the ground but when she didn’t feel any pain, she opened her eyes and found Ethan’s face so close to hers. He stared down at her lips and without resisting, he captured them with his.
