Chapter 286: BEERIFIED
"I-it was e-exactly that," Mary didn’t bother to hide the truth. Erika knew what she was thinking but the fact that Erika didn’t believe in her apology bothered her.
After staying behind bars for a week, she started to see the dark side as her life was going to come to an end soon. She was very much aware that Erika didn’t believe her and she had expected it. How could someone who had always spoken ill of you suddenly apologize and the latter would believe?
"Since you don’t have anything else to talk about Mary, I think I should leave now," Erika said as she got ready to stand up. "I only came here thinking that you had information about Adrian but I’m disappointed. And as for your apology, we both know that you are faking it so you’d better drop the act and go back to your normal character. It’s sickening." She added.
Without waiting for either to react to her words, Erika walked towards the door and left the investigation room while Mary stared at her back with shock written on her face.
"I’m not faking it, Erika," she whispered but both Erika and Edward had already left the room. "I hope that you can forgive me," she added as she sniffed back in her tears.
—
Erika looked down the stairs as she continued stomping her feet harshly on the poor ground that did nothing to offend her.
"This is such a waste," she mumbled under her breath, aggravated.
"I won’t say that," said Edward. When he saw Erika glare at him from the side, he added, "I mean, now we know that she has changed."
"Mary has not changed," she scoffed. "This is one of her plans and now she wants me to forgive her? That woman is such a good actress."
When they finally got to the first floor, Erika walked right outside and the sun made sure to kiss her skin from the right angle.
Edward shrugged. "If you say so," he admitted.
Since there was nothing for her to do in the building anymore, she got inside the car and requested for Edward to take her to Monica’s place. She hasn’t had the chance to visit her bestie in her home and gossip as they had usually done.
Edward agreed and drove over to Felix’s place. She looked at the house that wasn’t a mansion but could be mistaken to be one. After Adrian succeeded in burning their mansion, Felix moved into his own house and forced Monica to move in with him with the excuse that he hated living alone and was scared of ghosts.
Erika thanked Edward before he drove away. She raised her hand that had her golden wristwatch wrapped around her tiny wrist as she checked the time.
"It was only 5 in the evening," she mumbled under her breath. "Ethan must be waiting for me now but let me make him wait a little while longer," she bit her lips before pressing her index finger down on the doorbell.
After 10 seconds, the double doors were opened and Monica greeted her happily. "You are late," Monica chirped as she pulled Erika inside the house along with her.
The girls settled in the living room and started to watch before Erika asked,
"Where is Felix?"
"He’s at work," Monica replied as she dug her fingers into the bowl filled with popcorn, grabbing and burying them into her mouth.
Erika nodded in understanding. She was sure that Felix must have missed most of his paperwork right from when she had been kidnapped. She made a mental note to cook him a delicious meal later to thank him. ’Now that I think about it, should I resume my work in the company?’ She thought to herself.
Since she quit being the CEO of the company back in California, she didn’t have anything else keeping her busy except for Ethan filling her with his cock just like he’d planned to do tonight.
The girls continued to watch movies and when they were done with that, they moved to the drinks and drank as many beers as they could while they conversed about frivolous things since the alcohol had taken control of them.
By the time Felix arrived at the house, the girls lay on the ground as they giggled in their sleep, totally unaware of their visitor.
Felix absentmindedly dropped his briefcase on the ground out of shock when his eyes landed on the bottles that also lay on the ground beside the girls. The whole floor was dirty and he could already start to imagine the kind of fun that they had while he was gone.
"What in the world happened here?!" He demanded when his eyes landed on the other products used by the girls. He counted on the bottles of beer that lay on the ground and concluded, "9?! You girls had 9 bottles of beer?" He questioned them, expecting an answer but unfortunately, the girls weren’t aware of his presence yet, talk more of hearing his voice.
Immediately, he picked them up one after the other and placed them on the sofas, away from the cold ground.
He tapped Erika on the shoulders, trying to wake her up but the girl didn’t want to be awake. She still giggled in her dreams and Felix couldn’t only sigh. He walked over to Monica and repeated the same action, hoping to get a better result and his fiancé didn’t fail him.
Monica first opened her left eye and when she sighted Felix, she smirked at him.
"You are home," she muttered, her words slurred from still being drowsy. "Where’s Erika?" She asked him and he pointed on the other sofa as he asked,
"Why would you girls have so much to drink if you couldn’t handle it?"
"Don’t be mad at me," Monica pouted ever so cutely, her cheeks were already flushed and her face at that moment woke up a desire in Felix. "I only drank 3 beers while Erika drank 6," she revealed, and instantly, Felix’s eyes snapped towards Erika in worry.
