Chapter 274: HUGGING
At the hospital, everyone who hadn’t been able to see Erika the previous day that she arrived was coming in today. As soon as she saw her best friend, they immediately jumped into each other’s arms and hugged each other as tightly as possible without letting go until their hands gave out.
Tears of joy flowed from their eyes as they resumed their hugs when they felt the blood flow back into their hands.
The elderly couple smiled at the two women and could only release a sigh of relief. Their Erika was back with them now and nothing could ruin this happiness of theirs anymore.
Even though Ethan didn’t quite remember all the faces of the people in the room, his mom and the others had already explained to him that they were all his family members and that he shouldn’t keep his guard up all the time that they were around which was why he had relaxed and why Monica hugged Erika so tightly.
Felix had already informed him in advance that they were best friends from childhood and he shouldn’t react too much when they hug each other since it was the most common way that they express their feelings.
The door to the room opened again and two figures entered the room. Immediately, Erika’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets when she saw Jasmine and Andrew coming inside.
In a blink of an eyelash, Erika ran towards Jasmine and enveloped the latter in a warm hug.
"I missed you so much," Erika nearly cried and Jasmine made sure to return the gesture even though her body had turned a little stiff when Erika had just suddenly hugged her.
She had imagined that Erika would probably give her a loose hug but now that she was warmly hugging her, she closed her eyes immediately to enjoy the sweet moment.
When they two were done hugging, Ethan’s mood suddenly turned sour. ’Erika has been busy hugging people but is not even for once looking in my direction,’ he thought to himself as he watched her go have a sit together with Jasmine and Monica.
Felix who was standing beside him noticed his soured look and nudged him by the elbow. "What’s with that face of yours? If anyone sees you, they would think that you are having a bad day," he asked him.
Eyah released a hopeless sigh before he replied, "It’s nothing."
Felix glanced at him, totally making it obvious with his face that he didn’t believe Ethan’s words but decided to drop it. He had a feeling that if Ethan told him why he was so annoyed at that moment, it might also reflect on him so he simply kept quiet and continued to stare at everyone happily.
"I’ve missed you so much," Erika said to Jasmine as she grabbed the latter’s hand to be sure that she wouldn’t escape from her.
"I missed you more," Jasmine replied.
Monica stared at the two women before she released a sigh. "It’s a bummer that Felix didn’t let me come see you yesterday. I was so happy when he told me that they had rescued you from Adrian. That man is a witch. He kept you away from us and then decided to marry you out of the blue? What a fuc..."
"I’m very happy to be with you guys again," Erika immediately interrupted Monica before she could curse out loud. Even though they were already grown and mature women, their parents were still around and they knew the kind of eyes that they would be receiving from them if they heard them curse.
Monica understood what Erika did at that moment and quickly zipped her mouth from making any more curse words.
"It took so long that I thought that we might never see you again," said Jasmine. Without warning she hugged Erika again and the latter felt something poke her from Jasmine’s belly.
Erik quickly looked down and found Jasmine’s belly more swollen than usual.
"Did you have a big breakfast this morning?" Erika asked her. She turned to look at Monica who gave her a wink and out of confusion, she faced Jasmine who said,
"You are going to be an aunt soon."
Without holding herself back, Erika screamed as loudly as possible, nearly giving everyone a mini heart attack but was immediately pulled down by Monica.
"I’m so sorry, I guess I was too happy," she apologized as she giggled.
Jasmine stared at her with wide eyes and understood why Monica and Erika had been best friends from childhood. That was exactly Monica’s reaction when she had revealed her need to her a month ago.
"I’m so happy that I’m going to be an aunt soon," she cheered.
"And that’s not all," Jasmine held hers and Monica’s hands before she announced. "I want you both to be the godmother of my child."
Erika and Monica stared at each other with huge sparkly eyes. Jasmine didn’t need to be told what was going to happen and quietly covered her ears.
The two women screamed out loud again, jolting the elderly people once again, and apologized afterward to hide their shameful act as they giggled together.
"What could they be talking about?" Ethan asked Felix.
"They are probably catching up," Felix shrugged while his eyes focused on them, mainly on Monica.
Back to where the girls were, Monica asked Jasmine, "Are you sure that you want us to be your child’s godmothers?"
"Of course," Jasmine nodded happily before turning to Erika. "Now that you are back and everything is okay now, have you thought about having a child with Ethan yet?"
Erika choked on her saliva and coughed hard. Monica quickly stood up and patted her gently on her back before she was back to normal.
Erika swallowed her saliva and asked Jasmine, "What do you mean?"
Jasmine shrugged. "I’m sure that both of you miss each other so much after being away for so long so....." she drawled to let Erika complete the sentence in her head.
