Chapter 272: AN IDEA
"They must have done it back when I was still in the police station," Adrain suddenly gasped but he remembered Felix touching his phone before it was handed over to him but suspected that the tracker would be placed inside his phone in such a short amount of time.
"How and when that happened doesn’t matter anymore,’’ Viper spats out of frustration. Adrain crawled to one couch and tried as hard as possible to prop himself upwards until he succeeded and finally sat his buns on the couch as he released a sigh of relief. "I have no idea why the police aren’t after me yet but now that they know that you were behind this whole catastrophe, I’m sure that those Walters brothers are going to report me anytime soon." He grabbed his hair in frustration.
Viper was finding it quite hard to believe that all these things had happened and not once was he called to the police for questioning. Even after the Walters brothers already found out that he was the one who owned the club Midnight Mirage despite all of that, he was never investigated or anything.
"It’s probably because they don’t have any evidence against you yet," Adrain spoke out without any control.
This time, Viper resisted the urge to punch Adrain in the face again since the latter was speaking without thinking. He was underestimating his enemies again and he seemed to never want to learn. If only they knew that the Walters brothers didn’t have any interest in the club or anything related to it, especially now that they have found their sister.
"So boss, will you help me get Erika back from Ethan again? Please I need to get her back again. If not, she will fall in love with him and forget all about me," he pleaded and his begging nearly confused Viper.
’Is his brain not functioning well?’ Viper wondered. He could already tell from his behavior towards Erika that he was starting to fall in love with her and also wanted her by his side but he wasn’t that dense to not see that Erika never loved Adrain and the latter here was starting to imagine things.
He was also angry that Erika wasn’t with Adrain anymore since he couldn’t go and see her but at the same time, he was glad that Erika wasn’t with Adrain because if she was, then she would have been his wife by now, totally shattering his heart to pieces again. He was in love with Erika but he couldn’t have her kidnapped like Adrain she just did if he wanted to be ruined like how the idiot in front of him was. He needed another way to get Erika away from both Adrain and Ethan and get her to himself. He needed a plan. Once he looked at Adrain’s face, waiting for his answer, an idea immediately popped up in his head.
"I will help you to get Erika back but it won’t be anytime soon. I’m sure that right now, they must have had their men search several places for you so now is not the best time," said Viper with a solemn expression.
As much as he was angry at Adrian earlier for having most of his men killed, the new idea that just appeared in his head would be the best kind of revenge he would get on him.
Adrian instantly became excited because of the good news. He completely understood how the streets were hot for his tail and the best way to get what he wanted was to lay low.
Earlier, he had been thinking that Viper probably wouldn’t help him out since he had this gut feeling that he had a thing for Erika but now that he was willing to help him out again, he threw away all those suspicions out of his head.
’I must be too in love with Erika to believe that everyone around has feelings for her,’ he thought to himself and he gave a sheepish smile to Viper and it irked the latter.
When he suddenly remembered something, he quickly opened his mouth to speak, "Where’s my son, Mary, and Juliet? Are they in prison?" He asked Viper, mostly worried about his son whom he last saw when Juliet had carried him. His step-sister and stepmother can just go to prison for all he cares but he still wanted to know about their whereabouts in case he needed to get rid of them soon.
Viper didn’t reply to him until he inhaled; he smoked the tobacco and released a big puff of smoke afterward.
"They are not in the prison and I have no idea where they had been kept," he replied and Adrain widened his mouth in shock.
"What does that even mean boss? Are you trying to tell me that they were not taken to the police station?"
Adrain only shut his mouth when he saw and felt the icy cold glare that he was getting from Viper.
’I must have irritated him,’ Adrian thought to himself.
Viper walked towards the chair that he just stood up from earlier and sat on it with legs crossed.
"I have no idea where the Walters brothers had taken them but I’m sure that they were not taken to the police station. They must have kept them as their hostages so that they can question them and see if they can find out anything about you from them," he managed to explain despite how annoyed he was.
Adrain nodded in understanding but he doubted that those two men would be able to reveal anything to those men since they barely knew about his business. All they did back at the mansion was sleep, eat, and watch some TV and they never once questioned him how he was able to make such a huge amount of money before so his mind relaxed a bit.
"How about my son?" He asked Viper.
"I have no idea but since there’s no one to look after the boy, he might be taken to the orphanage," Viper replied nonchalantly.
