Chapter 267: TURNED SMART
"I doubt it," Daniel commented before walking over to where the couches were and took a seat to relax his back before he continued. "Adrian has turned smart and I’m sure that he will avoid anywhere that’s public, for example, the hospital now. It would be the last place he planned to go."
"I agree with everything else that you’ve said but the part where Adrain had turned smart, I doubt it," said Edward. When he noticed the looks of confusion the others were giving him, he added, "He didn’t even notice that there was a tracker on his phone all this time."
Daniel suddenly sprang up from the couch as he shouted, "The tracker!!"
The others flinched out of surprise at his sudden exclamation. Felix glared at Daniel for nearly making their heart rate shoot up but when he understood where his brother was heading, he also shouted,
"The tracker!!"
Edward ended up getting their hints and in 2 seconds, they had already left the room to go to only where God knows.
Erika turned to glance at Ethan and he smiled at her. Mrs Walters suddenly sighed as she leaned on her husband.
"I’m so glad that Erika is back with us now. Can we just forget about finding Adrain and just live happily again? That man can just go to hell," she nearly fretted, still annoyed at the fact that Adrian had kidnapped her daughter and had kept her away from her for three whole weeks.
"We can’t just let him go like that honey," Erika heard her father reply to her mother. "He still needs to pay for what he’s done to us. If we leave him now, he might come back later and still try to trouble us. We just got Erika back and I’m sure that you don’t want us to lose her again."
Mrs Walters rubbed her head on her husband’s chest and Erika blushed at seeing her parents act so lovey-dovey in their presence. ’Are they forgetting that we are here?’ She wondered.
"Believe me when I saw that if I see Adrain, I might just strangle him to death for what he’s done but Erika is back with us now so I’m just saying, let’s just forget about him and every trouble that he brings along with him and let’s be happy," the elder woman sighed.
Mrs Anderson heard her fellow co-wife and couldn’t help but agree to it but they were very much aware of what could happen if they loosened their guard for even a second. Erika might just vanish and they didn’t want that to ever happen again.
"I understand where you are coming from, Sophie. I also want the same thing but Adrian Hart seriously needs to be taught a lesson," said Mrs Anderson and Mrs Walters could only release a long sigh afterwards.
After some more time passed, Edward, Felix, and Daniel walked inside the hospital room with long faces. They walked until they got near the long couch that was on the other side of Ethan’s bed and slumped tiredly on it.
"What happened?" Erika asked worriedly. Earlier, they spoke about the tracker and Erika already assumed that they were talking about the tracker that they had put on Adrian’s phone and had left to go trace it now that they had come back looking so disappointed, it only meant one thing.
"The tracker has been deactivated," said Felix. "That bastard must have found out about it and had thrown it away," he added.
"But don’t worry," Daniel tried to ease the tension that suddenly rose in the room. "We will keep searching for him and the security around the house will tighten more so he won’t try to get in or out as he’d done the last time."
"But isn’t he going to give up now that everything is going against his plan?" asked Cassandra. "Erika is no longer with him and most of his men are dead while the ones that are alive have been taken hostage by you. I don’t think he has the power to try any nonsense again," the girl spoke her mind with a slight shrug.
"He wouldn’t try to do anything if he was alone," said Erika. "He had Viper working with him and I’m sure that man is going to help him out since the both of them are in the same business. I don’t know how powerful Viper is but I’m sure he’s going to help Adrian out."
"I doubt it," said Felix. "Adrian is the sole reason why the club Midnight Mirage has been ruined and it’s Viper’s business. I’m sure that he must be angry at him for destroying his business and then he will refuse to lend his help any longer," he concluded.
Erika thought out what Felix said but wasn’t sure if that’s how things are going to turn out. ’Let’s say that Adrain had given up, what about Viper? That man wanted to kidnap me from my kidnapper,’ she thought to herself.
Suddenly remembering that she had not told her family about the oddly looking woman she found on Viper’s phone, Erika parted her lips to speak,
"There was this woman I once found on Viper’s phone one time when I wanted to use it to contact you guys."
"What about the woman?" Ethan asked her, ready to listen to her concerns.
Erika went on to narrate the similar facial features she had with the woman that she saw on Viper’s phone and from their expressions, they were also as confused as she was when she first saw it.
"I think that woman is Viper’s wife but my question now is, why does she look like me?" Erika asked no one in particular.
Ethan patted her head to try to comfort her. It was obvious that her mind was confused as so many possibilities would start to flood in like what if she once had a twin.
"Have you seen the woman around that place before?" He asked her and Erika shook her head.
"No, I haven’t seen her before."
