Chapter 264: FEAR
Erik smiled as she released another sigh of relief. She still found it unbelievable that Ethan had come to rescue her but now wasn’t the time to think about that. They needed to leave here before Adrian came out.
"We need to go now," Erika said with urgency in her tone. Even though she was not very well aware of Ethan’s health condition, she knew about the bullet that was in his head and it was dangerous for him to be out here. Her heart was filled with worry as she stared at him.
"But first, I need to teach Adrain a lesson for keeping you away from me for so long," Ethan said through gritted teeth. His blood boiled at the moment and he wanted to quench it by seeing Adrain’s blood flow.
Erika immediately put her hands on his chest to try to stop him. "I know that you are very angry at him but your health is very important right now Ethan. We need to leave before something bad happens to you," Erika said.
The last thing she wanted at the moment was to lose Ethan now that the both of them had just been united again. She was also angry at Adrian and wanted Ethan to end him as soon as possible but there was nothing more important than Ethan’s health at the moment.
"Please, let’s go away from here and come back for him later," she added.
Ethan stared at Erika for two seconds and could see her worry-filled eyes. Those sparkling blue eyes of hers that he had not seen for the past few weeks were staring back at him. He could feel her body tense whenever she mentioned his health and he was not at all surprised that she already knew about it since Adrian sent one of his men to monitor him back at the hospital.
But the thought of letting Adrian go just like that without teaching him a lesson bothered him. But since Erika was already worried about him, he would listen to her.
"Okay," he answered.
Erika sighed and nodded. As the both of them were about to step away from that side of the mansion, Adrian suddenly popped up out of nowhere with a gun in his hand.
His eyes immediately widened in disbelief when he saw Ethan standing in front of him. He simply couldn’t believe what he was seeing at the moment. ’Ethan is here, that only means that the police are also here,’ Adrian thought to himself. He has been caught.
He stared down at their intertwined hands and his eyes instantly flared in anger. Raising his hand to point the gun at Ethan, Adrian ordered with a harsh and demanding tone, "Give me back my bride."
Adrain’s chest huffed and puffed in anger, ready to fire the gun the moment Ethan denied his request. He had never in his wildest dreams imagined that Ethan would be able to find out about this place. He’d made sure to come and go while making sure that no one followed him so how come Ethan was standing in front of him with his soon-to-be wife by his side? The way the both of them fitted each other irked him so much. And the fact that they had already intertwined hands only means Ethan didn’t have any memory loss. He still remembers Erika and Felicia had already gone to have cosmetic surgery to look like her and now that things have changed, the surgery was already a waste.
When he realized that Ethan had no intention of making any single move, Adrian demanded in a loud voice, "Give Erika back to me!!"
"And why on earth would I do that?" Ethan questioned him. He took a step forward but Erika pulled him back out of fear. Ethan looked at her and she gently shook her head, as if saying that he shouldn’t go any closer and that Adrian was like a ticking time bomb that would explode anytime soon.
Adrian saw Erika’s actions and his blood boiled in anger. "Come back here, Erika! You deserve to be with me and not with him. I’m your husband and we should be together," he barked.
"I was never yours, Adrain. I have told you several times and I will say it again in case you don’t understand my language. I Am Not Yours," she said slowly so that Adrian would be able to read her lips properly and if he still didn’t understand that, it only meant that he was dumb.
Adrain saw red this time. He was never going to accept that Erika had denied him and he wasn’t willing to accept that fact. That was the most bitter truth that he didn’t want to believe.
Out of rage, he intended to fire the gun but Ethan instantly kicked it out of his hands in the nick of time before any bullet would be released from it.
Adrain didn’t wait for a single second and attacked Ethan when the gun was kicked out of his hands. One of them was only going to stay alive and be with Erika and he believed that person was going to be him.
Adrain started by hitting Ethan on his head, which he knew was the latter’s weakness and Ethan groaned in pain.
"There’s only one place that you belong to and that’s in hell," he said to Ethan and intended to hit him on the head again but Ethan quickly pushed Adrain away. He was starting to feel a migraine coming on and if Adrian was to hit him on the head again, he might just collapse there.
Adrian already thought about Ethan’s plan and he immediately attacked Ethan again but Ethan was fast enough to dodge his attacks.
Erika stood on the other side, wanting to intervene. Without a second thought, she pointed the gun that was already in her hands towards one of them, ready to shoot but the two men were moving too much and the fear of mistakenly shooting Ethan gripped her.
