Chapter 254: APPRECIATED

"I will help you, mam," Iza repeated when she saw Erika staring at her with shock and not even blinking once.

Hearing Iza repeat the same thing over and over again, Erika pulled the girl towards her and hugged her tightly as she released the tears that she had been fighting to hold back.

"Thank you so much, Iza. I will never forget what you are going to do for me and don’t worry," she released the girl to look at her face before she continued, "When I get out of here, I will take you along with me so that Adrian won’t hurt you."

Erika was very much aware that if she was to escape, it was Iza who would be accused or blamed for helping her out and Adrain wouldn’t bat an eyelash before he ends her life just like the way he ended that bodyguard’s life, who shot her in the leg earlier. The maid might not have done much for her yet but the one she was going to do for her in the future was going to cover everything up and Erika couldn’t be any more happier. She was finally going to be with Adrian.

"Don’t thank me yet mam. You haven’t escaped yet so you should say that once you are out of here," Said Iza. She also knew she was putting herself in. This was a very dangerous mission and if they ended up failing, she was going to lose her life but for some reason, she was willing to risk her life for the sake of this lady who was pleading in front of her.

"Okay," Erika wiped her tears and nodded her head in understanding but she couldn’t help but still appreciate the maid’s willingness to help her out.

In the quiet dark street with some lamp posts flashing some lights upon the ground, the shadow of a man suddenly came to cover that light as he watched the building in front of him that had the police tape—DO NOT CROSS— words written on it.

Stepping out of the light, the man walked until

he was in front of the club. Raising his head to look at the fancy light that spelled out the name of the building—Midnight Mirage, he smirked in amusement as he lowered his head and stared at the doors that were closed and locked with a large chain.

"The police are quite serious with this investigation of theirs. Who would have thought that they would lock this place up even after tearing it apart? What good would it be for the owner anyway?" Adrian said to himself as the smile continued to linger on his lips.

Suddenly, he heard another footstep coming from behind him.

"You arrived earlier than I thought," Adrian commented when he saw Viper coming to stand beside him with his hands in his trouser pockets, keeping them cool from the cold night.

Ignoring his comment, Viper walked away from that exit and said, "Let’s go through this corner."

Adrain made sure to follow Viper until they got inside the underground gambling. Staring at the quiet room which used to be super loud before suddenly gave him the chills. The place was as quiet as the cemetery and that wasn’t good in any way.

Turning on their flashlights from their phones since it seemed that the lights connected to the underground gambling had been cut, they flashed it around the tables that had been moved over and some pieces of the cards that they used in playing were also scattered on the ground in a rushed manner.

"I wonder who would have tipped the officers about this place," Adrian suddenly said and viper glared at him, uttering such a word like a stupid person who thought he didn’t have enemies. "That person has done a bad thing." Turning to face viper, he asked, "Do you know who it was?"

Clenching his fist tightly, Viper tried as much as possible to calm himself and not hit Adrain right there because he had a feeling that Adrain would not be able to take it and would die right there since Erika was able to hit him close to death one time. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"It was the Walters that tipped the officer’s idiot," Viper replied with a grunt.

Forging a surprised look, Adrian nodded while he walked away to inspect the other ruins of the room. "They sure did a bad thing when I didn’t do anything wrong to them."

"Are you forgetting that you have their sister captured?" Viper questioned Adrian since it seemed like the latter suddenly had some amnesia.

"But it’s not my fault that I’m in love with her," Adrain shrugged.

Having had enough of Adrain’s nonsense attitude, viper walked towards him and with long strides grabbed him by the collar, and banged him against a wall.

"This could have been avoided if you had given Erika back to her family but you never listened to me. Now look at what has happened to my business. Because of you, my club is ruined and now I also have to hide from the police and this is all because of you. Now I wish I had never taken you in," he spat in Adrian’s face as he voiced out his words of regret.

Adrian stared at Viper with shock as he felt the man tighten his hands on his collar, nearly strangling him. He was very much aware of everything but he always decided to play a deaf ear.

"Look boss, I’m sorry for everything that I’ve caused you but I promise that everything will come to an end as soon as I accomplish my plans," he said.

Viper frowned, "Plans to do what?" He asked.

"Plans to get married to Erika. We will be getting married in the next two days and after that day, we will travel out and will never come back to this city again. I will take her far away from here so that we can live happily ever after," Adrian replied.
