Chapter 248: LEARN

"Very good. I will call my lawyer and have him arrange our divorce papers and then we will both sign and submit it. And then after that, you will get your plastic surgery done," Adrian announced.

Mary, who stood by the side, watched Felicia as the latter beamed with so much joy and happiness. Nudging her daughter by the elbow to grab her attention, Mary whispered to Juliet.

"Just look at how she’s expressing her happiness shamelessness without holding back. I wonder if I was blindfolded or something to not see this act of hers earlier."

"I know right?" Said Juliet. "She’s getting a divorce yet she’s happy because she’s going to be with another man. How shameless," Juliet added as she whispered back to her mother.

Even though they’d both tried to whisper as quietly as possible, Felicia was still able to hear them.

"You don’t need to whisper to each other about me. I’m right here. If you have anything to say to me then come out and say it. Don’t be such a lowly coward," she bites with a smirk.

Feeling offended by Felicia’s words, Juliet was about to bounce on her and turn her face even more ugly than it already was but her mother held her back.

"Leave her alone. One day or the other, she will certainly regret everything and will still ask for help from both of them and that’s when we will rub it in," said Mary as she held Juliet by the arm so that the latter wouldn’t go closer to Felicia.

"You must be very delusional to think that that will ever happen," Felicia spats out. "To be honest, I don’t blame you at all. Besides, you are very old so you must be hallucinating things. It’s not your fault Mary, it’s old age."

"Felicia, that’s enough," Adrain’s voice rang in the room.

Felicia was about to defend herself for getting yelled out but once she saw the solemn expression on Adrain’s face, she immediately clammed her mouth shut with the fear that Adrian might change his mind and not let her go to Ethan again.

Turning to face Erika who’d been quiet all this time, Adrian patted her head like a kid and squatted down to her level. "What’s with that face? Aren’t you happy that we are getting married soon?" He asked her.

Erika clenched her fists from under the blanket, trying to hold herself from hitting him across the face.

When Erika didn’t respond to him, Adrain added. "Are you sad because you won’t be able to see Ethan? Don’t worry, if you want, we can go see him one last time," he smiled at him but Erika wasn’t a fool to believe his words. He was only aiming to see an expression on her face and she wasn’t going to give that to him.

"What are you saying, Adrain? You are going to let her see Ethan? What if she escapes?" Felicia questioned Adrain.

Adrian continued to look at Erika while he answered Felicia, "That’s not for you to worry about, Felicia. Just make sure that you can act like Erika quickly and worry about anything else."

With that, Adrian pushed Erika’s wheelchair and left the scene, leaving Mary, Juliet, and Felicia together.

As soon as Adrian was out of sight with Erika, Felicia faced the mother-and-daughter duo while she smirked proudly.

"In no time, I won’t be here to argue with people like you anymore." Facing Mary, Felicia added, "You wanted to send me back to jail right? Now how are you going to do that when I’m going to be looking like Erika soon?"

"Don’t get your hopes high yet Felicia. You are not Erika yet, remember that. Yes, you will get surgery but you can’t guarantee that the surgery will come out successful. Who knows, you might only end up having more scars on your face," Mary mocked then Juliet laughed.

"And just you wait to see how you are going to get kicked out once you show your faces to them, Felicia. You know, if I were you, then I wouldn’t even agree to this because once you are unsuccessful, you will be the one to go back to jail," she said. "So you’d better give it some thought before you decide."

"And why would you even care about that?" Felicia asked, confusedly.

"Isn’t it obvious? I know that if they send you back to jail, you are going to involve my mother and I don’t want that to happen," Juliet replied.

Felicia smirked, "You do care about your mother, I can see that but unfortunately, your mother will get back there even before I do anything." When she saw the perplexed look on both of their faces, Felicia gave one last smile and walked away.

Adrain continued to push Erika’s wheelchair as he continued to chatter like a chatterbox nonstop. "Once we get married, I will arrange the perfect honeymoon for the both of us. Not like the one that we experienced when we first got married."

"You mean the one where you never came home for almost a week?" Erika asked him.

"Exactly, that’s why I want to make this one the perfect one for the both of us. Our wedding is going to have everything in it. Although we won’t invite too many people so that we can’t be caught or have you taken away from me, that would be horrible," he continued to chatter.

He only stopped once they reached her bedroom and he pushed the door open.

"I missed your face while I was still locked up, don’t you miss mine even for a little bit?" He asked her.

"I didn’t," Erika replied honestly. She wasn’t going to lie just to be in his good shows or whatever. That was the last thing she was going to do now. It didn’t work before and it’s not going to work ever. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

"You also don’t want to know how your ex-lover nearly collapsed because of the bullet in his brain when he visited me at the police station?" He asked her.
