Chapter 235: PLOT

"What?" Mary gasped in disbelief, unable to digest all that Juliet had just told her. She still remembered when she was still in jail and Felicia had just been locked up. Mrs Evans, Felicia’s mother, had told her that it was a fight that occurred between Felicia and Erika. "But why didn’t you tell me any of these back then when you still visited?" She questioned Juliet.

Shaking her head slightly and releasing a sigh afterward, Juliet replied.

"I don’t know mom. I guess I found it unnecessary and perhaps I thought that you already found out about it since you and Felicia always connived together."

"I would never have helped Felicia in the past if I had known that this was how she was going to repay me after all that I had done for her," Mary cuts in. "She thinks that she wouldn’t need help right? Okay then. We will see," she promised as she stared into blank space.

Outside the room, Erika already overheard everything that they spoke about and couldn’t help but bite her lips in disappointment.

"I want her to be angry at Juliet as well, not only at Felicia," she clenched her fist as she spoke." I guess I also need to manipulate Juliet against Felicia," she added.

"So mum, now you know that Erika is only trying to manipulate you. Don’t listen to that bitch. She’s not going to do you any good," she heard Juliet say to her mother next.

Not being able to take it anymore, Erika banged the door open, jolting the two women inside the room as they turned their heads to look at her. As soon as Juliet made eye contact with Erika, she sprang up from the bed and strode towards Erika.

"You think that you can manipulate my mother, don’t you?" She questioned Erika as she glared at her, wanting to stab her with it but unfortunately for Juliet, Erika had already grown immune to it.

"Who’s talking about manipulating your mother Juliet? I never said anything wrong," Erika defended herself. She blinked her eyes away from Juliet to stare at Mary. "Mary, don’t tell me you believe all what your daughter is saying."

Instantly, Juliet snapped.

"What’s wrong with you? Why are you trying to ruin my relationship with my mom? Is this your plan?" Juliet questioned as she shot an eyebrow at Erika while the latter only tilted her head to one side before answering her.

"Who’s talking about manipulating? Like I said earlier, I never said anything wrong because all I said was the truth, isn’t it Juliet? You have been fooling your mother alongside Felicia."

"What are you even talking about?" Juliet asked. She had a hint about what Erika was up to and if she didn’t stop her now, she might manipulate her mother and make her turn against her.

"You know very much about what I’m talking about Juliet. But do you know what? I pity you because just as Felicia betrayed Mary, she could also do the same to you. It’s obvious now that she doesn’t care anymore about what happens if she does that. So if I was you, I would send Felicia back to jail," she tried to persuade Juliet.

This was her only choice. Because if she doesn’t do this, Felicia will get plastic surgery to look like her and then go to Ethan and pretend to be like her. Not sure if this plan of hers would work. But it doesn’t hurt to try it.

"Felicia would never do that," said Juliet. Just like Mary who also connived with Felicia back in the day, she also believed that Felicia would always stay by their side and so would they but now, she would be exposed to Felicia’s true colors.

Erika shrugged. "I don’t think so, Juliet." She turned to glance at Mary before looking back at Juliet. "You should have seen the way she was insulting your mother the other way. Even though I am no longer related to Mary, I still feel pity for her," she added as her voice softened at the end, nearly making Juliet believe her but the girl was hot-headed.

"Felicia might have been in a bad mood to talk to my mother like that. I’m sure she will come to apologize to us soon."

Erika resisted the urge to facepalm herself in front of them due to how stupid Juliet was. Can’t she see that she is also being used? Erika wondered. She stared at Juliet who was waiting for her to speak and another idea popped inside Erika’s head.

’Since she doesn’t want to believe that Felicia will soon turn her back on her, I will just use this as a way to make Mary believe that it is true that Juliet and Felicia are indeed working together,’ she thought to herself.

"What are you thinking about?" Juliet questioned Erika.

"I’m just thinking about how badly you are hurting your mother’s feelings by saying all these things in front of her," Erika replied with a sigh. "But who am I to interfere?"

"Exactly! Who are you to interfere with? You’d better stop meddling and continue to be a bitch you are," Juliet mocked and stepped out of the room with her heels clicking on the clean marble floor as she walked.

Turning to Mary who had stayed quiet throughout their conversation, Erika pushed her wheelchair until she was nearby as the saddened old woman.

"Mary, do you see that? Do you see that your own daughter has refused to believe what I’m saying?" Erika asked as she showed a face full of disappointment. "And here I was, thinking that what I’d said about Juliet and Felicia planning to send to jail was not right," she added.

"What are you doing here," she heard Mary ask her.

Erika released a sigh as her shoulders slumped before she replied, "I came here to apologize to you because I thought that I was wrong. I thought that Juliet, your daughter couldn’t do such a thing to you by look, I guess I was wrong."
