Chapter 233: CONCEAL

Edward snatched the papers from Felix and read through the words that were printed on them.

"How is this possible?" Felix questioned Mr Brown who was also at a loss for words. "How come it says negative on those papers?"

As soon as Adrian heard Felix, a triumphant smile climbed on his lips as he looked at them mockingly.

"W-well, Mr Walters, I was the one who personally took his fingerprints myself but I’m also confused as to why it doesn’t match," said Mr brown. He was also confused.

Standing up from his chair, Adrian said, "You see, you keep blaming me for everything. How many times do I have to tell you that I am not involved in the kidnapping of Erika? Seriously, what will I gain from doing that?"

"Will you shut up?" Edward demanded before facing Mr brown. "Let’s retake the fingerprints," he ordered. "I’m sure that he must have concealed his fingers with something."

Adrian immediately butted in, trying to shut down that idea. "What’s the use? It’s still going to show the same thing."

Mr Brown ignored Adrian and nodded his head, "We can have the fingerprints taken again."

The room temperature suddenly felt hot for Adrain as his head glistened with sweat.

Earlier, when he had been taken to the previous day, he’d concealed his finger with the lip balm that he’d kept in his pockets while making sure that no one was in there when he had done it. But now that they want to retake the fingerprints, they would find out about it, he thought to himself.

"Hey! Can’t you hear what we are saying? You are going to retake the test," Felix reminded me when he noticed Adrian was lost in his thoughts.

After hearing Felix, Adrian couldn’t help but sweat some more.

"Can we do that tomorrow?" He requested as he wiped his forehead with the back of his palm. "You see, I slept here overnight and I need to return to my business."

"What business?" Felix snapped before he smirked. "You mean your underground business? Don’t worry about that. The police are over there and I don’t think you will have any more business to attend to once they are through with that club, Midnight Mirage."

Adrian furrowed his eyebrow with obvious confusion written all over his face. He didn’t understand what Felix meant and he didn’t want to because he would be dead if he was to understand it.

Without getting the chance to say anything else, Adrian was dragged away by the officers to take another fingerprint and he struggled all the way.

At Club Midnight Mirage, the police officers were everywhere, scattering the whole club looking for any route that could lead them to the underground gambling. The staff have all vanished from there while some had been caught by the police for interrogation.

Everywhere was scattered and didn’t look like the club it once did.

After interrogating a few staff who had refused to reveal to them where the underground gambling was, the police officers had taken it upon themselves to do the searching.

In the underground gambling, Viper was instructing his men and the gamblers to quickly escape from the place before the police officers were able to find out about it.

Viper had been in his house having his morning sleep when he’d been informed about the sudden intrusion by mamba.

Getting to the club, he quickly took notice of the officers that had surrounded the whole place, blocking the path that could lead him inside. To avoid the police officers and their questions, he’d used the other route which he’d created a long time ago.

"Hurry up! Make sure you carry all of the cases of money and also make sure that you don’t leave any sort of evidence behind," he instructed the men who were running around everything, trying to gather the most important things.

The gamblers quickly got out by using the route that Viper had suggested. They had only known of one way to get to the underground gambling and that was from the elevator upstairs and they were quite surprised that Viper had another route. The route leads to another street that wouldn’t be seen by the officers easily so it was completely safe for them.

After making sure that anything useful that could be used against him was dropped on the ground or anywhere, Viper also escaped from there. Now, if the police officers end up finding the underground gambling, they would only know it exists and nothing can be used against him.

Instead of going to his house, Viper decided to go to his hideout, where the police wouldn’t be able to find him since the place was completely covered with trees.

"Get all those bags inside," he ordered the men as he brought out a cigarette box and brought out a wrapped stick before slipping the package back into his pocket. He lit the lighter next and puffed out a cloud of smoke.

Everyone had been running helter-skelter back when they were still in the club, but now that they were no longer in any danger, they no longer felt the need to do everything in a hurry anymore.

Meanwhile, outside of the hideout, Viper continued to puff out smoke as he glanced around the hideout.

Suddenly, he threw away the cigarette that was in between his fingers with rage. His eyes had turned red and everything he saw was red.

The business he had been doing secretly for so many years has now come to an end all because of Adrian and his carelessness. "Damn you Adrian!" He cursed as rage filled his heart.

He’d only wanted to help Adrian but now look what he got in return. His illegal business had completely been ruined and sooner than later, the police will be on his trail.

"If only I knew this would happen, then I wouldn’t have helped him at all, now look what it’s cost me," he continued to rant to himself.
