Chapter 225: GUN

"Where did you get the gun?" Mr Brown questioned the officer.

"I found it on the other side of the mansion, beside the tall fence that led to another gate," the officer replied as he pointed in the direction that he’d found the gun.

"There’s another gate? That must be where he’d escaped from," Felix concluded, running towards the gate. The others followed behind him and went there.

They arrived at the gate which was also opened just like the main gate. Stepping out of the gate, Felix stared at the empty road which didn’t have a single soul walking on it. The whole place had turned eerily quiet and no sound of a zooming car or people talking could be heard.

"They have already gone far," said Daniel. Turning to look at Mr Brown, he instructed, "I want you to start looking for Adrain. Tell the officers to raid the Midnight Mirage club and find Viper. He owns an illegal business called underground gambling. Make sure you find both of them," he added sternly.

Mr Brown nodded in understanding. He couldn’t arrest Adrian earlier because the recording that they had presented the other day could had been a prank because it was a case like this that people would end up pulling up some prank calls so they didn’t know who was behind the phone call.

But after hearing Felix and the others say that they had seen Adrain drive past the jungle and suddenly this house that’s on fire with the gun that had been found, he wouldn’t deny that everything was connected to Adrain.

"I will start the investigation immediately," Mr Brown responded.

In another part of the city, Erika looked outside of the window hoping to see someone whom she could scream for help to so that she could finally be free from Adrian’s grasp but after driving for close to 2 hours away from the burning mansion, she was flabbergasted when she didn’t find anyone.

The car continued to move until they arrived at their next hideout. The place looked similar to the other one that they had just burnt down. The only difference was that the house was smaller than that mansion but it was still big enough.

Erika stared at the house with a big frown evident on her face. She knew that Adrian was in some illegal business but what kind of business would earn him so much money to have easily burned a mansion and gotten another house just like that?

After the car came to a halt, the car door was opened and a wheelchair was placed for Erika. Iza helped her get down from the car and sit in the wheelchair before she started pushing it towards the door of the house.

The other cars arrived, the car where her ex-in-laws were, and also the van where the bodyguards and maids were.

Felicia stepped down from the car with her son in her arms and the first thing she could say was, "I still prefer the other mansion than this one."

"You should be glad that the police officers didn’t catch us," said Adrain.

Rolling her eyes, Felicia walked inside and started exploring the house. She also wondered what was Adrian’s job that suddenly made him rich. If only I’d known that Adrian would be this rich, maybe I wouldn’t have acted like that before, she thought to herself as a smile graced her lips.

"Now the future of my son is very much guaranteed," she dreamed.

Erika was pushed inside the house by Iza and they arrived inside the living room.

"This place isn’t as large as the other mansion but I’m sure it’s more than enough for us to build our family," Adrian stated. Felicia turned to glare at him because she was very well aware that those words weren’t meant for her, it was meant for Erika.

Adrian walked to where Erika was and placed his hands on her shoulder. "We will start building our family very soon, Erika. As soon as I’m through with that lover of yours," he added. He waited for Erika’s reaction but unfortunately, she didn’t please him but reacting at all. She simply sat still in the wheelchair and saw his words as a breeze that passed by. Turning to Iza who waited for Adrian, her boss, to leave so that she could take her madam to her room, Adrian said, "You can leave that to me. I will be the one to take her to her room."

Swiftly, he pushed Erika’s wheelchair away from there, heading to the place he called her room.

As they moved, Erika observed everything that seemed different from the other mansion and this one. Unlike the other mansion, there were a few cameras placed at some corners of this one and there wasn’t anything that seemed like a wall like a door. The door knobs were perfectly normal.

Adrian continued to push until they arrived in front of a black door and he pushed it open. "This is your new room," he announced.

Erika stared at the room blankly. It was just like the one that he had given to her back in the other mansion and of course, there were two cameras placed at the corners of the room.

"Do you like your new room?" Adrian questioned when he noticed that she had been too quiet lately. Since they got inside the car and arrived, she hadn’t uttered any words which made him wonder what she could be thinking about.

When she didn’t respond to her, Adrian left behind her to stand in front of her instead. When he saw her plain expression, he hissed, "Tsk tsk tsk... don’t tell me that you are sad because things didn’t turn out the way you’d wanted them to?" he mocked. No reply, Adrian added, "After this whole event, I’d advise you to forget anything that involves escaping from me but you simply can’t. I’m your only family so you should just forget about those people in your mind because you are never going to see them again."
