Chapter 218: SHAMELESS
"That’s right! We will be on the chase again," Mary instantly agreed. "We are already runaways, we don’t want to be labeled as kidnappers," she added. She was already old and the prison disgusted her. It was the last place that she wanted to return to which was why she had never left the mansion because she feared that she would be caught as soon as her feet stepped out of the mansion.
They saw the other bodyguards rush towards the gate and open it. "Seems like he found Erika already," Mary commented with a devious smirk but as soon as she saw Adrain walk inside with no Erika, just him and his men, her smirk faltered.
"Adrian, what’s wrong? How come Erika isn’t with you?" She asked him.
"I couldn’t find her," Adrian hissed. "If it wasn’t for the fact it was dark already, we could have continued the search but we suddenly heard a growl," he explained as he found himself a seat. His body still aches and the more it aches, the more he feels angry for letting himself be easily thrown across the room and beaten up.
"What do you mean?" Felicia questioned. "Don’t tell me you got scared and ran out of there, Adrian. Are you really that much of a weakling? You get beaten up by Erika and she was able to escape from under your nose, yet when you go to look for her, you get scared off by a growl," she tried to get off his nerves and she succeeded.
Springing up from his seat, Adrian pointed a finger at Felicia with rage, "Don’t you dare call me names!" He yelled. "The jungle is a very dangerous place and we can’t go there in the dark."
"But Erika is still there. She is still there and once it’s daytime, she will escape. I’m sure that you didn’t look properly because if you did, I’m sure you would have found her by now," she tried to rub salt in his wounds.
She didn’t care if Adrian hit her, she needed to get him back there and continue his search, Erika would swiftly escape.
"Will you stop this nonsense!" Adrian yelled out of frustration. "Maybe you should go there and look for her yourself."
Without waiting for Felicia to spill any more words, he turned to climb up the stairs and headed towards his room.
Felicia glared at his back, hoping she could just stab him with it and end his life.
Facing the bodyguards, she ordered, "I want you to go back to the jungle and continue to look for Erika. I’m sure she’s hiding somewhere."
The bodyguards glanced at each other before they bowed respectfully, "I’m sorry but it’s only our boss’s orders we follow," said one of them.
She watched them leave without even waiting for her to react, "What?!" she frowned.
"Felicia, maybe you shouldn’t be so worked up. I mean look at Adrian, he will be the one in more trouble if Erika was to leave this perimeter but he isn’t as worked up as you," said Juliet. She couldn’t understand why Felicia was even more worried that Adrian would go to jail if Erika had stopped exposing their location.
"If Erika can escape, she will go back to Ethan Anderson," Felicia revealed. "And you both know that I plan to steal him from her since he has lost his memory," she added.
"What?! Are you still going with that plan of yours?" Mary questioned Felicia. She couldn’t believe that Felicia was still on board with such a plan. "Isn’t that going to be dangerous? Just like Erika said, even if you can get plastic surgery and fool Ethan, what about her family? They will surely figure out that you are not Erika."
"I will be able to," Felicia said, deadpan. "I will suggest this plan to Adrian later and I’m sure that he will agree and he will be the one to find me a very good plastic surgeon," she added with a smile.
"But what about the baby? Are you going to leave your son here?" Mary questioned with fierce eyes, waiting for the moment that Felicia would suggest taking the child to the orphanage as she had earlier planned.
Felicia scoffed when she heard Mary’s question. "Son? Once I get my plastic surgery, that child will be Adrian’s, not mine anymore," she replied with a shrug.
"Don’t you have any shame? You are going to abandon your sin for another man when you already have your husband and child by your side," Mary questioned Felicia. She couldn’t believe that Felicia was this shameless but what she expected when she heard that Felicia had cheated with several men. If only she knew that she had also aborted just as much.
"Husband?" Felicia scoffed. "What husband are you talking about? You mean Adrain?" she asked Mary back. "Adrian, who wants us to get divorced? Mom, Adrian had already given up on our marriage so why should I still be with him? I’m sure that once I reveal my plan to him, he will waste a second before agreeing."
"But still..."
"But what?! I made myself a promise when I was still in jail and that promise was to make sure I ruined Erika’s life before ending it for her. I don’t care if you think I’m being shameless or whatever but I’m still going to do what I’d planned to do and there’s nothing you can do about it," Felicia cut Mary off and uttered confidently.
Of course, Mary remembered those moments. Felicia would repeatedly promise to ruin Felicia’s life and wouldn’t rest until it was accomplished. But she still felt that the plan felt wrong, especially the fact that Felicia was going to push through with it shamelessly.
"But Felicia," Juliet interrupted. "If Erika can escape this once, wouldn’t she be able to escape again after she’s found?" she asked.
"She would be Adrian’s problem, not mine anymore," she replied nonchalantly.
