Chapter 174: QUESTIONS
"And if Ethan magically appears here within that one week," his tone holding sarcasm, "Then, I will let you go, are you in?" he asked her.
"I’m in," she replied. ’I would love to see the look on your face when Ethan comes to wherever you brought me and take me back’, she thought to herself.
"Good girl", he raised his hand in an attempt to pat her head but she moved her body away. Adrain dropped his hand back on his side. "I will have someone get you your dinner", he said and reached into his pocket to bring out a card to press. Erika examined the card with her eyes quickly before he put it back into his pocket.
The wall-like door opened and Ethan stepped inside. Erika was about to step inside too but he stopped her. "Remember the bet," he reminded her.
Erika stopped in her tracks and watched him disappear from her sight.
She darted her eyes around the empty room that only had the bed and wondered, when did Adrain have the money to do all this?
Erika was still in the enclosed room, thinking of how to get out of the place when she suddenly heard the wall-like door open again and a maid in a uniform walked in with a tray of food.
The maid bowed at her and dropped the tray on the coffee table that was in front of Erika and moved to stay close in case she was needed.
Erika watched the maid, a lot of questions she wanted to ask but was unsure if the maid would speak. Nevertheless, Erika asked,
"Excuse me, do you know where we are?"
The maid glanced at her with nervous eyes before she looked away and answered,
"I’m sorry mam but boss Adrian has instructed me not to mention anything about this place to you."
Exactly what I had expected, Erika thought to herself.
She ran her eyes on the maid, sizing her up before concluding that the maid seemed to be in her early twenties.
Erika tore her eyes away from the maid who had refused to speak and stared at the food, wondering if it had been drugged. Judging from Adrian’s determination to have her, there is a possibility that the meal could be drugged.
Pushing the tray away, she said,
"I’m not hungry, you can take it back to wherever you got it from."
The maid nodded and came to carry the tray away.
"That card," Erika mumbled to herself when she was alone.
She raised her head to scan the room of any cameras and found one at the top of the wall, facing her with its red dot shining brightly.
"Shit!" she cursed. If that card was what she needed to get out of here, that would be easy, she thought to herself.
After several minutes of staying alone in the room, Erika heard someone walk in from the door. She turned her head to face the maid from earlier again.
"The boss wants you to wear this and get ready to have dinner with him," said the maid, which had Erika frown at her.
"I just told you I am not hungry", she reminded the maid.
"I know but it’s the boss’ orders", the maid answered.
’Boss? Why does she keep on calling him boss?’ Erika wondered.
"Fine," said Erika. The only way she can get out of here is by being familiar with the place first. "Where is the bathroom?" She asked and the young girl pointed at a wall, which had Erika stare at her with a raised eyebrow. As if understanding the question that had not been asked yet, she maid explained,
"The bathroom is behind that wall. All you have to do is touch the wall and it will open."
Confused, Erika walked towards the wall with the clothes in her hands and did as the maid instructed. She raised her hand and placed it on the wall and it moved, exposing a clean bathroom. ’Does every wall here have something to show?’ She wondered to herself.
She entered and quickly changed into the green dress that the maid had brought and came outside to find her still standing at the same spot.
"I’m ready," she announced. Since there were no mirrors in the room, she couldn’t look at herself in it. The gown was quite tight for her, exposing most of her womanly curves which were half good and half bad.
The maid turned her head to face Erika and said, "Please follow me".
The maid brought out the same card that Adrian had used earlier and the wall opened. The both of them entered and Erika followed the maid until they reached the dining room.
Erika saw Juliet and Adrian who were already at their seats and she went to sit down as well.
Juliet glared at Erika as she had always done while Adrian couldn’t take his eyes off of her when he saw her wearing the dress that he had personally picked for her.
"I thought you wouldn’t come," Juliet commented. "Turns out you were only pretending so that you could be given attention," she added before taking a bite out of her meal.
"What can I say? I was brought here without my permission, it’s only right if I throw some tantrums, no?" Erika remarked which earned her a more intense glare from Juliet before Erika tore her eyes from Juliet to look at Adrian who grinned at her.
"I don’t mind if you throw tantrums," he said. "As long as you don’t plan on escaping from here." He expressed his words playfully but he wasn’t giving her an option.
Erika stared at him with a disgusting look as if he was a pest. Why wouldn’t she plan to escape?
The maid who brought Erika to the dining table placed a plate in front of her and started dishing out her portion until Erika raised her hand to let her know it was enough and the maid left afterward.
Erika scanned the dining room for any cameras and surprisingly, there wasn’t any.
