Chapter 157: ACTIONS
The house suddenly fell quiet until Madam Laura coughed to get their attention before she spoke,
"First of all, I would like to tell you both a thank you for I am free, and second, I have already mentioned to Felicia that I can help her get her revenge".
Felicia’s eyes lit brightly with hope when she heard Madam Laura’s words. She had forgotten Madam Laura’s offer.
"Of course, when will they be ready?" she asked Madam Laura.
The woman sighed before she answered, "I will need to go see them first to let them know that am out of jail before we can start planning that"
"Wait wait, why are you planning on helping her? You don’t know what happened", said Tobias.
"That doesn’t matter, she knows and she has decided to help me", Felicia interrupted her brother. The young man could only release a sigh before he leaned in on his chair.
"So when the time comes, you will get your revenge on Erika?" He asked her.
"Of course, that’s what I want to do. Even though I don’t have any money now to go to New York, I will still make sure that I make her suffer. I will pour acid on her face and...", she promised as she clenched her fists.
"Are you even hearing yourself? You want to pour acid on the face of a powerful woman, who has a powerful family with a powerful boyfriend. Have you thought about the consequences of what that action of yours could lead to?"
"Why are you asking me all of these questions? Are you supporting Erika?" She asked him and he shook his head.
"Of course not. I just want you to think clearly before you act, you are going to be a mother soon", he reminded her.
Felicia stared at her huge baby bump and heaved a sigh of frustration. She had planned for this baby when her marriage was at stake but now that she needed to make the person who ruined her marriage pay, the pregnancy is getting in her way.
"When I give birth to this baby, I will put him up for adoption", she suddenly declared which had the other three people in the room quickly turn their heads to stare at her with a look of disapproval.
"What nonsense, Felicia! You are not going to do such a thing," Mary rebuked. "And why would you even want to do such a thing now?" She questioned her.
Felicia glanced at the trio, who were staring at her, and sighed again before opening her mouth to speak,
"When I give birth, who will take care of the baby while I am on my quest for revenge on that bitch?" she questioned back. To her, her pregnancy had come at the wrong time and she regretted not getting rid of it when she found out about the news.
"Can you even hear yourself now, Felicia?" Tobias questioned her with a displeased look. "You are going to put your child in the orphanage after giving birth? Is that how heartless you’ve become all for the sake of revenge?"
Felicia banged her hands on the wooden table angrily and glared at her brother. "Yes, that’s how heartless I’ve become if it means I will be getting closer with my revenge towards that Erika", her tone holding determination. Madam Laura sensed that this must be a family issue and simply from there to check out the house. Mary had always disapproved of Erika but Felicia’s decision wasn’t acceptable.
"I won’t let you do that", Mary said. "You are going to take care of that baby after you give birth to it and besides, Erika is not going anywhere or is she going to disappear if we don’t plan a revenge on her, no. You will take care of that baby and that’s what you would do", she stated firmly. Felicia stares at her mother-in-law and curses at her in her mind.
"I think what you should be worrying about now is how you are going to move around and not get caught by the police", Tobias reminded her. "I’m sure that by now, they would have already figured out that the three of you have already escaped from there", he added.
Mary and Felicia glanced at each other before Mary spoke,
"We know that. Since you’ve brought us some supplies that could last us for a week at least, I don’t think there is anything that we should be worried about here".
Tobias nodded at her words before he turned to face his sister who was quiet.
"Felicia, I will be going now and please, take care of yourself", he said and she nodded in response before she asked,
"Does Mom or Dad know that you helped us escape from prison?"
Tobias shook his head, "Do you think Dad would rest if he found out that you were planning on escaping?" He asked her back.
She looked away and mumbled under her breath, "Of course". Ever since she had been put in jail, her dad would always visit her to remind her of her foolish mistakes and crimes which only poured more anger in her heart towards Erika. Tobias stood up and left the uncompleted building to return home so that his disappearance wouldn’t be suspicious.
As soon as Tobias’ car was out of sight, Mary faced Felicia who was caressing her baby bump, and questioned, "Why would you say that?"
"Say what?" asked Felicia, pretending to be oblivious to the words.
"You know exactly what I mean", said Mary before she continued, "Why on earth would you even think of giving the child up for adoption? Don’t you want Adrian anymore? Don’t you love him?"
Felicia scoffed at the mention of Adrian’s name, "Adrain? The same Adrian who has not even bothered to ask about my well-being even after finding out about my pregnancy? The same Adrian who filed for a divorce when I was still in jail?" She questioned her mother-in-law.
"That’s still not enough reason for you to want to put the baby up for adoption", Mary tried to reason out to her. If only she knew that her daughter-in-law had slept with many men out of selfishness and greed, then her attitude towards her would change.
"I can’t bring the baby along with me to go look for Erika", said Felicia which earned her a frown from Mary, "What?" She asked.
"Didn’t you understand what I said earlier?" questioned Mary. "Erika isn’t going anywhere, remember. When the news gets out that we have escaped from prison, I am sure she will be awaiting us but after some months, she will forget about us and that’s when we will strike", said Mary. Felicia stared at her mother-in-law in shock for having such a genius plan. "And then, we can ask Juliet to help you take care of the baby and bring him to Adrain. I’m sure that when he sees the baby, his heart will melt and he will totally forget about that bitch Erika and take you back. If you think about it, it’s a win-win for both of us. We will both get our revenge on Erika and you will have your husband back", Mary concluded on her idea and waited for Felicia to speak.
Felicia on the other hand couldn’t believe what she was hearing, even though she didn’t mind if she ever got back with Adrain, she still needed a father figure for her baby. "I like your idea, Mom," she agreed. "But how are we going to contact Juliet? We have no phone", she reminded.
"Just ask your brother for a phone and TV so that we can know what’s going on in the outside world", Mary replied. "So you won’t be giving up the baby for adoption right?" She asked to be sure they were on the same line.
Felicia chuckled before she replied, "I won’t".
Madam Laura arrived back inside the house, only to find the two women.
"Have that brother of yours left already?" she asked and Felicia responded by giving a brief nod. "Ok, so what do we do now?" she asked.
Felicia stood up from the chair she was sitting on and walked towards Madam Laura.
"I want you to keep to your promise by instructing your men to help me find Erika’s whereabouts. Tobias said she is in New York so tell them to look for her", she ordered.
Madam Laura who had just gotten off the phone after speaking to her men stared at Felicia before releasing a slight chuckle.
"You don’t have to worry about that. But I have a few questions to ask you", she said.
"Such as?"
"This Erika that you’ve been talking about so much, didn’t your brother mention that she is a powerful woman with a powerful family background?" Madam Laura asked. She might have offered to lend a hand to Felicia but she wasn’t willing to offend powerful people just for her. She was just a drug dealer and if she gets involved with the police again, then back to jail it is for her.
