Chapter 146: DAVIS ARRESTED
"What do you mean by the officers are here?" questioned Mr Davis.
"Their cop car is parked right in front of the gate and they are demanding to see you", one of the bodyguards replied.
Mr. Davis immediately sprang up from his seat, grabbed his walking stick, and walked toward Jasmine’s room. When he opened it and saw Jasmine sleeping in the bed, he released a sigh of relief, thinking they could have probably received a false report.
"Let’s go have a chat with the officers", he said and stepped out of the mansion. One of the bodyguards opened the gate for the officer to come in. "Can I help you with anything, officers?" Mr Davis asked with a smile full of pride.
"Mr Davis, you are under arrest for the attempted kidnap of Erika Walters," said the officer without wasting time and in a blink of an eye, the smile of Mr Davis faltered, replaced with a big frown as he stared at the officer who just spoke.
"What nonsense is this? I didn’t do anything", he quickly defended himself.
Mr. Davis noticed Jasmine who was wearing a maid’s uniform while holding the hands of a man and cursed,
"You bitch! You have the mind to betray your father, from this moment onward, I disown you", he spat with a face full of rage.
"I also disown you as my father", jasmine calmly replied. She didn’t want to keep such a greedy man as a father anyway. She despises him and so does he, no one will get hurt.
The officer handcuffed Mr. Davis threw him into their cop car and drove away.
It wasn’t long before Erika and Ethan arrived at the Davis mansion and they went inside to thank Jasmine.
"Thank you so much for telling us about your father’s plans", said Erika even though she was still quite uncomfortable with the sudden change in Jasmine’s attitude toward her.
"No, Erika. I think I should be the one thanking you for coming into Ethan’s life but then if all that hatred towards you hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have found out about the truth myself" " Jasmine interrupted her. "I also want to apologize for everything that I have done to you, please forgive me", she begged for Erika’s forgiveness which left the couple flabbergasted.
Not in this life had they ever imagined that Jasmine would stand right in front of them and ask forgiveness. The atmosphere became awkward but since she was asking for forgiveness, they had to forgive her.
"Ethan, pinch me", Erika said to Ethan and the latter gladly complied. Ethan pinched Erika’s skin and she yelped in pain, "Ouch....Wait, am not dreaming".
When she remembered that she had to forgive someone, Erika faced Jasmine and replied with a smile,
"Of course, it’s okay".
"Really? Thank you so much", said Jasmine as she opened her arms, ready to hug Erika and the latter complied. "Anyway, I would like you to meet my boyfriend, Andrew Rivera", she pulled the flabbergasted Andrew towards her. "Go on, introduce yourself", she urged him.
"Hi, I am Andrew Rivera," he stretched out his hand toward Ethan for a friendly man-to-man handshake.
"Nice to meet you, am Ethan and this is my girlfriend, Erika", Ethan introduced the both of them.
The two couples got along but Ethan and Erika couldn’t stay longer since they needed to arrange their house and Ethan also had to return to the office to complete paperwork that he had left behind.
In a beautiful new apartment that looked lavish with the modern style pieces of furniture used in decorating the whole place, a man relaxed on his chair as he watched the news playing on the television. It was Adrian.
He had been enjoying his life now since the day he killed the gang’s leader and buried him in the forest. The other notorious criminals have been searching for him but they couldn’t find him since he no longer lived in his rat hole anymore. He now lived the life he was meant to live. He had already paid the bank and the police were no longer on his trail anymore and nothing could make this life of his sweeter except for Erika. He pulled out his phone and stared at her picture he had used as her profile picture. After researching her, he found out that Erika was indeed a rich woman and he wanted her back.
"I am coming to get you soon Erika", he softly muttered as he caressed his phone. He kept it down and took a sip from his glass of wine and then all of a sudden, someone knocked on his door.
He stood up from his chair and checked who it was from the peep hole, it was Juliet. He opened the door for her and she went inside.
After his "lucky day", he tried to contact Juliet and luckily, she was able to receive the call and since then, the both of them lived together.
"What’s up bro?" greeted Juliet and the girl quickly took a seat for herself and started watching a movie. "Do you want to go and visit Felicia today, she is about to give birth", she informed him.
Adrian already knew about Felicia’s pregnancy but after her uncountable affairs, he didn’t believe he was the father of the child despite Felicia sending messages through Juliet, begging him to accept their baby.
If only they knew that Adrian wouldn’t even care about the baby if he found out the baby was his. His mind and attention were on finding out more about Erika. To have her and make her his even though he knew it would be difficult since he would be going up against a very influential man.
"I’m not going anywhere", he objected and Juliet could only release a sigh of helplessness.
"But what if the child is really yours? What would you do then?" She asked him.
"That child is not mine", he said, deadpan.
"Alright do whatever you like", she shrugged her shoulders and focused her attention on the movie.
