"What happened? Who is coming in?" Erika asked Ethan when she heard him sending someone in. And the look on his face wasn’t pleasing at all.
"It’s Jasmine, I think she has something to say", he replied. Confused, Erika wondered what new trick Jasmine was going to pull off again this time.
In no time, there was a knock on the door. Erika didn’t know if she should sit or stand but she still ended up standing.
Peter opened the door and Jasmine walked inside with nervous steps.
"Hello Erika", she greeted Erika so warmly as if the both of them were friends which surprised the trio who had expected her to start throwing tantrums after finding Erika in his office. This new character of hers was new and unpredictable. Everyone waited for a change of attitude but nothing came.
"So what was it that you were talking about?" Ethan decided to cut to the chase. He was just having a private time with Erika and he would love to get back to it as soon as possible.
Jasmine cleared her throat before she started to speak, "It’s my dad, he has planned to kidnap Erika so that he can blackmail you into signing the property papers".
"And why are you telling us this?" He asked her.
"Because I don’t want Erika to die, I don’t want to get married to you anymore and I don’t want to be manipulated ever again", she suddenly started to sob.
Unsure about what to do, Erika went to the water dispenser and poured in a glass of water for her. "Here, take this", said Erika and she handed the glass of water over to Jasmine.
Jasmine grabbed the water and took a sip first before continuing,
"Erika, I know that I have done the worst things to you but please do believe me when I say that my father is out for you", she pleaded as more tears continued to roll down from her cheeks.
"Do you have any proof of what you are saying?" Ethan questioned her and she shook her head.
" I don’t have any proof, but when I do. I will update you guys but please Erika, you need to be careful now", she said.
None of the three of them understood any of Jasmine’s riddles but they decided to buy it just for now until they found a piece of proper evidence. Afterward, Jasmine left the office to keep an eye on her father, wanting to know when he was planning on attacking.
At the Davis mansion, Jasmine checked herself out in the rearview mirror one last time to be sure that her face was not tear-stricken before she opened the doors of the car to head inside.
When she arrived, Jasmine didn’t see her father anyway, just her mother.
"Mum, where’s dad?" She asked her mother.
"He went out, dear. Is there a problem?" Mrs Davis asked when she saw her daughter’s long face.
"Nothing, mum", jasmine said and entered her room.
"Now I know that both Erika and Ethan are trying to believe me but they need proof. Urgh.... where am I going to find any evidence?" She asked herself. She stared at the phone until an idea popped up in her head.
Later in the evening, Mr. Davis arrived and went to his room to take a shower while dropping his phone on the bed.
Jasmine carefully sneaked inside his room and picked up the phone so that she could go through it for any kind of contact that was could be a suspect.
In the middle of her search, Mrs. Davis’s phone rang, making Jasmine jump in fear. She heard the shower stop running and she placed the phone back on the bed and bolted from there.
Mr Davis came out from the shower and picked up his phone,
"Hello? Yes, this is Davis, are you and your men ready for tomorrow’s abduction?"
Jasmine, who was outside the room widened her eyes in shock, tomorrow was the day they would try to kidnap Erika.
She creaked the door open a little bit so that she could hear properly. Bringing out her phone, she decided to take the video of talking about the kidnap, it’s going to be helpful when he gets arrested.
"Don’t forget to bring the bomb vest along, after you kidnap her, put it on her", he ordered his men. "And if she tries anything, rape her", he added. "Once I get the property in my name, I will kill those couple and the Anderson corporations will be mine", there was a tone of pre-achievement evident in his voice. As if he had already gotten everything.
Jasmine suddenly pushed the door a little too much and it made a louder creak. Immediately, she bolted from there and went to her room.
She quickly brought out her computer with the USB that she bought and quickly transferred the video into the USB cord. She tried sending out the video but it seems to be that Ethan had not unblocked her yet.
When the video was successfully transferred into the USB cord, Jasmine cheered. Finally, there was evidence, she said to herself.
The next morning, she woke up as early as possible to inform the couple about the plans of her father before Erika was kidnapped.
When she opened the door to leave, she saw her father standing right in front of her, staring at her with a creepy smile. Her heart skipped a beat in fear of being discovered.
"Where are you going?" He asked her.
"To the park, am going to take a while at the park", she replied nervously, hoping her father would just leave her path.
"But that’s too early. I think you should sleep in today so that when Erika is finally kidnapped, Ethan will be yours. I think you should have your beauty sleep instead", he insisted on her staying at home.
As if you don’t plan on killing Ethan after getting what you want, Jasmine scoffed in her heart.
"No need, Dad. I want to admire the beautiful morning with its nature", she objected in the attempt to pass and close her door but Mr Davis stopped her.
"I said you are not going anywhere", his words were firm without leaving any room for argument.
"But I on..."
Her words were interrupted when Mr Davis suddenly pulled off her purse and started searching. "Dad, what are you doing? Leave my purse", she panicked. If her dad finds the USB cord, he is going to play it and he would find out that she had wanted to take him down.
