Chapter 134: GUN POINT
"Who is going to help him carry all the three bags, huh?" He questioned back with a glare. He felt like the others were acting stupid. Facing Adrian, he threatened, "Don’t you dare run with our money". His voice was heavy and he wasn’t joking. If only they could see the smile on Adrain’s lips. "Take out the guns," he ordered the three of them.
Instantly, they started taking out the guns they had brought along with them for their mission. Adrian brought out his and hid it in his back. He would need it later to get rid of the leader.
Adrian grabbed the other bag that the eye-patchy one was holding and they started planning the routes they would be taking. Since the cops had already surrounded them, it meant they were everywhere.
"Do y’all understand?" The leader asked them after he was done speaking and they all nodded in unison. "They have already gotten trey so am sure that f*cking a**hole had already told them about our hideout so we will not be going there. We will have to find another place to stay", he added and they all nodded again in understanding. "Come on Adrian, let’s go".
Adrain grabbed the two heavy bags of money which weighed at least 160lbs each but the weight didn’t matter to him at all. The leader grabbed the one he was holding and they started moving while the others got into position.
By the time the leader and Adrian got to the fence they had climbed earlier, police officers were already standing on guard with huge guns in their hands. The leader took out his phone and immediately texted the other two to do what they had planned and in less than 20 seconds, a gunshot echoed around the perimeter.
The cops who stood by the fence were curious to know who was shot so they ran from there to head to the place the gunshot came from. The leader and Adrian got their chance. Luckily for them, the dog was no longer there as it had already been taken away from there to help sniff out the criminals.
"This is our chance, go go go", the leader hurriedly whispered to Adrian and the latter immediately threw the bags to the other side before he started to climb, the leader also followed suit. Suddenly, another gunshot was heard. And another followed, alerting the two people who were trying to escape. "Move it, g*ddamit", the leader cursed at Adrian’s slow movements.
Fortunately, the police officers had not surrounded the alley that they had come out from. Their van had been hidden properly so they didn’t see it. "Hurry up", the leader complained again as he tried to urge Adrain to run faster.
They both successfully got to the van and removed the disguise they had put around it to make it blend in the darkness. "We have to hurry up and go back", the leader said, not knowing that a gun had been pointed at him. "Who knows, they might have already been caught", he continued before turning back to see Adrian holding his gun at him. It didn’t take the leader too much guessing before realizing what was happening. "Do you think you can kill me easily, Adrian?" He questioned Adrain whose hand was shaking slightly knowing that he was going to kill someone any time soon.
"Look, I just need the money to pay off my debt", he said. "When I have enough, I will pay you back."
The leader stared at him for one second before bursting into laughter. "You want to pay a debt just to get into another one? No wonder you couldn’t save your company. You are just too stupid", the leader mocked.
Adrain revealed a scowl as he was not happy about being called stupid. The whole city knows about his story but he won’t call himself stupid, it was just bad luck.
"You don’t know exactly what happened", he said to the leader who didn’t take him seriously.
"I don’t care. Now bring the bag over here and let’s go rescue the others".
Not taken seriously at that moment disturbed Adrian so much. "Am f*cking serious!! I need the money!" He yelled in frustration. "So you had better move out of my way and don’t interrupt me else I will f*cking pull the trigger!"
The leader was quite taken aback by Adrain’s sudden outburst. He sounded serious. Fear for his life immediately gripped him as he shivered.
"Adrain, you don’t have to do this. Alright, you want the money? You can have all of it", the leader said as he moved away from the car, giving Adrian the chance to get inside. "I won’t look for you, I promise", he nervously gulped down his saliva.
Adrian continued to point the gun at the leader as he put the bags inside but then, all of a sudden, the leader grabbed the gun from him.
Shocked by the lightning speed the leader used in snatching the gun from him, Adrain could only cry internally.
"You are so pathetic, Adrian," the leader mocked. "You can’t even hold a gun properly. Do you think that you could just run away with the money that I have worked hard for?" He questioned Adrain.
"You stole it", Adrain stated as he raised his hands to surrender. Now that the leader was holding the gun, he might have been going to get killed tonight. He was not experienced with killing people but it was just 30 seconds ago that he held the gun in his hands, threatening the criminal and now that the gun was in his hands, the leader wouldn’t think twice before blowing his brains out with the bullets.
"That’s not for you to decide!" The leader yelled at him. Some of his saliva fell on Adrian’s face and he immediately cleaned it off. "So any last words, Adrain? You wanted the money right? So how about you take it and then I will kill you", the leader offered with a smile that exposed his yellow-painted teeth that seemed to glow at night even though they were not white.
