Chapter 107: LIED
"You bitch! You tricked me", Mary cursed with the intention to bounce on Erika but the officers held her back.
Erika looked at Mary in both mockery and disdain as she replied. "I didn’t trick you Mary. You were the one who tricked yourself. You believed every word that came out of my mouth that you forgot to think with your brain".
"You are going to pay for this", Mary promised as she struggled to get free from the officer’s grip.
"Captain, please make sure Mary Hart will be locked forever in jail with strong security", Ethan said to the captain who immediately nodded.
"Of course, Mr Anderson". The captain replied and followed the other officers who dragged Mary into their van.
After everyone was gone and it was just the both of them in the warehouse, Erika let out the breath that she had been holding in.
She had decided at the last minute to not give Mary the poison but instead replace it with a truth serum.
She leaned her head on Ethan’s chest and closed her eyes to rest them. Ethan also hugged her closely. The warehouse was now quiet but they couldn’t be bothered with the silence at all.
"I want to see her", Erika mumbled under her breath. Ethan nodded. He already knew who she was talking about.
The both of them entered their car and left for the cemetery. They branched to a flower shop first before arriving at the cemetery.
When they arrived, Erika carried the bouquet of red roses and strode to grandma Elizabeth’s gravestone.
"Grandma, I am here", Erika announced, placing her slender palm on the gravestone in order to move away the dirt on it. "Look, I brought you your favorite flowers just as I promised," She pulled the flowers towards her. Both of them sat on the ground. "Thank you Ethan", she suddenly said.
"How many times have I told you to never thank me again? I am here for you at all times and I will always help no matter what", he told her. She didn’t say anything else but he heard her sniff.
Ethan took a closer look at Erika and he saw her crying. He held her closely and asked in a worry tone,
"Why are you crying?"
Erika snuffed again before answering, "These are tears of joy Ethan. You don’t have to worry".
Ethan relaxed after he heard her words. He looked at her proudly as a smile plastered on his lips.
"I am happy because I was able to get justice for grandma Elizabeth. Her murderer is in jail now". She faced the stone and said, "Grandma, your murderer is going to pay for her crimes now".
"I am proud of you", Ethan said to her with a big smile on his face.
"Me too", she replied with a smile as well. Ethan nodded.
Since it was still in the afternoon, they saw some people who came to visit their dear lost ones. All of a sudden, Ethan said something that surprised Erika.
"Erika, do you know that you have not introduced me to Mrs Elizabeth Hart yet?" He asked with a grin.
Erika blushed. She had totally forgotten to introduce the both of them.
"I will do it now", she stood up to do the introduction. "Ethan, this is grandma Elizabeth and grandma Elizabeth, this is Ethan, my boyfriend".
"And her future life partner", Ethan added which made Erika blush even more. The both of them stayed there to spend some more time together and they couldn’t be bothered with any other issue that arises.

PAK!!!
A slap echoed at the police station which forced everyone present to turn their heads to the direction the sound came from.
"YOU WITCH!!! You are the one who killed my mother?!" Adam yelled at Mary at the top of his lungs. Adrain tried to pacify him but he swayed his hands away.
"And I enjoyed doing it. You know, giving her the poison everyday and she taking it everyday without knowing it. It was truly foolish of her", Mary replied as she laughed like a mad woman.
It seemed that the truth serum was still in the blood system.
"You..." Adam raised his hands ready to slap her again but Adrain held him back.
"Oh please, don’t act like you didn’t like it when your mother died. Am sure that you had been dying to see your mother’s dead body so that you can acquire all of her properties isn’t it Adam?" Mary glared at Adam who instantly kept quiet. "You were the one who benefited the most when your mother died so don’t call me a murderer because you are also one". She pushed him.
Losing his footing, Adam was about to fall but Adrian was able to catch him and he brought him to a chair close by to sit.
"But the person who you should be blaming right now is Erika. If she hadn’t made that woman healthy, then none of this would have happened. I wouldn’t have to stain my hands with her blood", Mary added.
The people at the police station stared at her in awe. The daughter-in-law killed the mother-in-law because of property? The same questions ran in their mind. They immediately took out their phones to record the scene.
"You are going to pay for what you did, you are going to rot in prison!" Adrain roared at Mary.
Mary only scoffed at him, "Oh please, I will be out of here in no minute", she responded confidently. She looked around and noticed her daughter, Juliet who was staying at one corner.
"Juliet", she called. "Come to me my darling".
Juliet flinched when she heard her mother call her name so sweetly. If it had been other times when everything was normal and they had not found out that she killed her grandmother, then she would have responded sweetly.
"Come to me sweetie, I am not going to hurt you", Mary added when she Juliet still wasn’t moving from her spot. She intended going to her instead but the officers immediately held her back as they glared at her. Slowly, Juliet went to her mother.
