Chapter 176: Two Friends, connected by same goal

"Let’s leave." Ely spoke in a low voice as she pushed her sister away. She didn’t want to get involved in this kind of dispute and she didn’t want her sister to see it either.

James couldn’t comprehend her presence for a moment. He tried to put away her arms but he couldn’t bring strength to his arms. He felt weaker than before.

"You bastard. I waited years for you. I never got engaged in sexual relationships with others no matter how much they offered me. And, you are weeping like a kid about your parent’s issue."

Pili shouted at him. At this moment, her eyes turned red but she didn’t shed any tears. In her mind, it would make her even more vulnerable. But, she didn’t stop talking.

"You think the people who didn’t even care about you, with whom you never spent your time are more important than a person who shared her love with you. You did nothing with them but even for a week, you did everything with me."

"How could you childishly cry about this when I should be the one to cry?"

When James heard that, his expression turned blank for a moment. Obviously, he thought she had forgotten about him. He still loved her and wanted to be together with her.

But, the time flow inside the Primordial Galaxy and outside was quite different. So, he knew a lot of time had already passed outside. And, he assumed that she had already given up on him.

But, the truth was quite different. Not only she didn’t give up, she even reacted to everyone else just for him.

At this moment, James felt even worse. The pain of his parents not admitting that he was their child and the pain of letting her down was stressing his mind even more.

This time, he was pushed to the point where he didn’t even know whether he should truly live or not.

"I’m sorry."

But this thought suddenly vanished when she apologized. He should be the one to apologize so why was she apologizing? He finally moved. He raised his hands and caught her other hand.

He put them over his face and tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Please don’t apologize."

"No, let me apologize. Instead of fighting with you during that moment, I should’ve helped you. I should’ve understood how much your friend meant to you. I never understood it."

"But now, thanks to his daughter, I was able to meet you. I am here, with you. Do you know how happy I am? So, don’t cry. You shouldn’t cry. Because when you lost someone, you will always get someone."

"In this case, you didn’t lose anyone but still got someone. I know I am not in the position to say this but didn’t you live your entire life without your parents? So, why do they matter now?"

When she asked him that question, James suddenly froze.

’Why? Why do they matter to me? Why? Why?’

’No reasons. I had no reason to find them. Apologize! Yes, that’s what I wanted from them. I wanted them to apologize to me for leaving me after giving birth to me.’

’So, why am I crying? Does it even matter? They should mean anything to me. So, why am I having false hope? Why should I believe that they were forced to say so?’

’They are not my family. They never were.’

James’ eyes widened and he clenched his fists. His expression became sober. He looked into her eyes and said.

"Pili, can you wait here for a moment?"

Pili nodded her head. She was happy that he finally recovered. He finally understood the answer to all.

James left the room and walked in front of Ely and Julia’s room. They shared the same room since they have been doing this for years.

Knock! Knock!

"Ely, Julia, can I come in?"

"Yes!" Ely answered from inside.

James opened the door and walked in. Ely was on the table while Julia was already on the bed but they were not doing anything at all. They just seemed to be listening from afar.

James walked near them and they looked at him. They found him a bit recovered. He lowers his head and said.

"I’m sorry. Brian left you two into my care but I only made more trouble for you."

"Uncle James, please don’t do this." Ely walked out of the chair and pushed his head up.

She looked into his eyes and said.

"Uncle, you have always been there for father. Right now, when you were in trouble, father wasn’t here. So, it was our responsibility to help you. I am glad that I never skipped whenever you talked about your past or else, I wouldn’t have known anything about her."

"And now that you are back to normal. It seems like we completed father’s work."

James raised his head and patted her head.

"Thank you for everything. Now, you two should sleep."

He walked toward Julia and kissed her cheek.

"Thank you, Julia. Good night!"

"Good night, uncle!" Julia giggled as she waved her small hands. James finally left the room and both of them also entered the bed.

James returned to his room and hugged Pili.

"Thank you, Pili. I know, this is not the place or time but I would like to ask you something."

Hearing his words, Pili’s heartbeat suddenly soared. Her face turned red as she waited for his words.

"Are you going to sleep on the floor or on the bed?"

When she heard his question, Pili’s heart suddenly stopped. The next moment, her face started releasing steam. Now, it wasn’t just red. It was boiling as well.

"You bastard!"

Just when she tried to hit him, James carefully dodged her and grabbed her waist. He pulled her upper body down and then kissed her lips. It was weird a position but he couldn’t complain.

After all, she had grown quite a bit.

Pili’s anger melted when she was kissed by him. She slowly calmed down and lift4ed his body. They started enjoying the kiss. James silently released a wind barrier around the room and dragged her to the bed.

..........

After quite an intense session,

Pili had already fallen asleep but James was wide awake. He was constantly staring at the ceiling while contemplating about his past few days.

’I have wasted quite a lot of time. But, I guess I never realized the reason why I wanted to see them. Damn it! I let myself become vulnerable in front of them.’

’They meant nothing to me and I was so devastated. I couldn’t even imagine how much hurt I would be if they would’ve actually loved me before and then started to hate me.’

His eyes turned to Pili and a smile appeared on his face.

’I guess, I got lucky. I found someone who truly loves me. I also got myself a best friend/ brother. I got a few nieces, a few sisters-in-law, and quite a lot of friends as well.’

’My life is slowly shaping into something good. And, I can’t let it get destroyed. The threat of Dragon Lord still remains. We have no idea how long Brian would take.’

’If Dragon Lord finds out about the Earth’s situation, we would be in deep trouble. Brian, come back soon. Let’s finish Dragon Lord once and for all. Then, leave our life in peace.’

’I believe you have the same intention.’

.............

In Tiandao Continent,

Brian was sleeping outside. He was staring at the stars in the sky. As he looked at those stars, his thoughts wandered around.

’Currently, I am still quite weak. I need to get stronger soon. I guess I should start hunting after finishing the first training session. I have to finish Strongest Offline Cultivation System as well.’

’From what I heard, there was an ancient sect in the middle of GOFL. Many people try to enter but they can’t go very deep. It was described as a dungeon. I need to check it out and hopefully find the resources.’

’To defeat me, that person would require resources beyond anything else. I planned to develop the Stat Systems with my Celestial Chaos Body. And, I plan to modify the Genetic Modification. Technique into a system itself.’

’I also need to create the best cultivation technique in order to modify it into an Energy Absorption Function. Since I plan to use the system itself as a resource, the person who inherits it would require to accomplish certain tasks in order to activate the Energy Absorption Function and gain stat points or skill points.’

’These two points would be connected with the Celestial Chaos Body and something else, something that can help one master a cultivation technique in an instant. Wait, what if I evolve the system with my IQ and allow it to use that IQ to comprehend anything else.’

’Damn! There are so many things I need to accomplish before I can head to earth. No matter what, I must finish them soon. And, then also accomplish my mission and get stronger.’

’Because once I return to my universe, I am going to end the Dragon Lord.’

’And, finally, retire with my family.’
