Chapter 167: Idea for the Project ’Offline Cultivation’

"Actually, I am not from this world. I did come from a completely different universe. A place where technology has a lot of impact on the world. And, where evolution is mostly done with the zero-point energy present in the universe."

"But unlike here, our universe blocked humans from getting talent to harness that energy and evolve. So, we have been relying upon some fortunate people who manage to awaken the superpowers."

"You can consider Superpower as talent. But, unlike talent, it also gives you strength. We also rely on the virtual game which allows us to slowly evolve but there is a certain limit that we, humans can never cross."

"In our universe, there is a virtual tower which people can climb and earn points. Using the points, they can improve the bloodline of their people. And, improving bloodline increases the talent of the entire race."

"So, only one person gets selected to enter this virtual tower by the universe by they fulfill certain conditions. I was chosen to enter the tower but because I had no strength, the universe sent me here."

"This universe allows humans to get stronger by absorbing the spiritual energy. So, my only goal was to get stronger here and one day when I reach the threshold, I can leave this universe and enter that tower."

"But after coming here, I began to miss my family. I felt like being separated from them was having quite a negative effect on me. So, I started a new project."

"Offline Cultivation"

"It is a project that will allow me to choose a certain person to face the threats that I am currently facing. Of course, I can’t dump my problems on someone else without giving them anything."

"So, I have been thinking of making an A.I. that will allow me to slowly formulate my plans about this project but I still have no idea how am I going to go with this."

"Since I explained my condition to you, I hope you can give me some of your views."

Hearing his words, three elders dropped their jaws to the ground.

"Haaa!" Elder Tu heavily sighed. He closed his eyes with his hand for a moment and said "Even though we thought you would be someone from the other world, it still seems quite amazing and impossible."

"I mean, a completely different universe? I have heard of the legend Immortal World and Mortal World resides inside the Universe but I never thought universe to be real."

"This is mind-boggling."

Elder Su crouched down as he held his head and spoke.

"I still can’t believe you can travel between universes. I mean you obviously can’t do it on your own but someone was able t help you do that. It sounds so insane."

"No wonder, you had such a creative view about the world and how it should function. I guess your universe is truly developed in terms of these technologies."

Hearing his words, Brian scratched his head and said.

"That might be true but your universe has much more power than us. I am only at the strength of Nascent Soul Cultivator but I feel like I can smash S-Rank hero with a single punch."

"I believe it won’t be long before I achieve Omega Rank Strength and then I will be pulled into my world."

At this moment, those elders instantly dropped their hands and serious expressions appeared on their faces.

"Brian, if you someday disappear, you might not come here, right? I mean you just want to stay with your family. So, you won’t feel like coming here." Elder Ying muttered.

Brian sensed some intentions in his words and asked "Elder, you can tell me anything. I have already shared my biggest secret with you."

Hearing his words, three elders looked at each other and said.

"Actually, it won’t take long before a new war starts, the war between Tiandao Continent and Darknight Continent. Actually, you might not know this now but the reason why you get that task was that Wu Region and two sects are planning on nurturing you."

"With your talent, you might even surpass the strength of Sword Ancestor which means you will be able to put end to the Darknight Continent threat. If they hear that you can’t stay here for long, they will definitely withdraw."

"And, we are sorry but if you truly plan to leave like that, we can’t allow them to spend those resources on you."

Hearing his words, Brian’s expression dropped. He clenched his fists but suddenly, Elder Tu spoke.

"Unless you do something for us."

Brian raised his eyebrows and looked at him.

"We are not trying to blackmail you but we just want it as a favor. You said you want to nurture someone from this world, right? So, can you perhaps create a quest for him to fight against Darknight Continent?"

"I mean the person you choose obviously won’t be average. So, that person might be able to replace you for that task. If you agree, we promise not to tell anyone else."

Hearing his words, Brian asked "You said quest. Do you have any idea how to nurture a person?"

"It’s actually simple. There are two kinds of nurturing. One-Time or Lifetime. Getting the inheritance of a strong person is One-Time nurturing while being the disciple of a sect is Life-Time."

"You give the person you want to nurture a quest and if he completes it, give him a reward that will increase his strength." Elder Su explained.

Hearing his words, Brian’s eyes widened.

"Wait, why didn’t I think of that? I can make it just like a game. Character status, quests, rewards, stats, skills, I mean this is the best way to nurture someone."

"Just think about it. Strongest Offline Cultivation. A game that only one person can play. As a player completes the quests, he will get rewards that will make him stronger."

"And, I can leave the updates as well. I mean I don’t have to plan everything here. I just need to make a basic version 1.0 system and then slowly build up the system."

"I mean I just have to build a server that can connect the system to me. And, since the Chaos Online can send me here, it means it can connect the internet to this universe."

"I just have to slowly build up the bigger and upgraded version from my home, put it on the server and wait for the player to attain a certain strength to access that upgrade."

"I can easily pass on cultivation technique and martial arts as data. As for items, I can basically use 3rd model creation. And, if I use higher dimensional energy to create those 3rd items, I can basically make it Mortal or Immortal Grade."

"Damn it! Why? Why didn’t I think of this idea before?"

With excitement all over his face, Brian jumped at three elders and tightly embraced them.

"Thank you, thank you so much for giving me that idea. And, don’t worry about stuff. I will install a forced quest into the system as soon as he reaches a certain realm."

Hearing his words, three elders who were awkward just a moment ago embraced him as well.

"That’s good! That’s good! We have finally secured a trump card against the Darknight Continent. Don’t worry, we will give you our full support. But since you are hellbent on doing this, you must complete this first."

"I suggest you acquire resources from some of the ancient sects that lie within the middle of the continent. Yes, you will be able t get the resources of an entire sect there."

"That’s why the four lands don’t want to give that piece of land to anyone. If you find anything there, you can keep it within whatever the system thing you are talking about."

At this moment, Brian’s eyes widened even more.

"Yes, yes, I can do that. Like for the first version, I can keep the low-level items and rewards for the player. Finally, I finally have a chance to spend my life with my family."

When they heard his sour tone, they couldn’t help but gently pat him. After all, for them, he was just a junior.

Brian moved his hand and wiped away his tears as he said "I miss them. I can’t believe how you guys can spend years alone."

"Haha! That’s the difference between our universes. While your universe gives more focus to family bonds and technologies, we give all of our focus to eternal life."

"Hahahahaha! Now that I think about it, being eternal also means being alone forever." Elder Tu laughed so much that he almost cried.

"Wait, does that makes us cultivation geeks?" Elder Su asked.

"I am not sure if I am a cultivation geek but I surely am Array and Formation geek." Elder Ying also laughed as he spoke.

Hearing their words, Brian couldn’t help but chuckle.

"I guess, we are all geeks in our respective paths. So wait, I suddenly have a theory. Being a geek can also be interpreted as understanding Dao, right?"

Suddenly, a silence flashed in the room.
