Chapter 333: Chapter 332: Subdue

’Damn it, why aren’t the Divine Talismans from the National Preceptor working? And they can even control the rain to extinguish the Fire of Burning Wood. Who else in the Spirit Race could possibly do this?’

General Long’s expression was grim. He had thought everything would go smoothly, that he could easily charge in and wipe out the Spirit Race. To his surprise, he was trapped the moment he set foot inside. This filled him with fury, but even more so with confusion.

He didn’t think it could be the Spirit Race Ancestor in control. ’He’s been afflicted with a deadly poison,’ he thought. ’If he tried to forcibly control this grand array, it would be no different from digging his own grave. He probably couldn’t even maintain control, if he could control it at all. I’m well aware of how potent the National Preceptor’s poison is.’

’Could it be the Saintess?’ General Long pondered. He truly couldn’t think of who else it could be. Besides the Saintess, no one else came to mind.

Controlling the Spirit Tower required a high level of skill with Divine Runes and, more importantly, immense power. Many members of the Spirit Race had been rescued recently, but he didn’t believe any of them were capable of controlling the grand array.

’As if this pathetic forest can trap me!’

A few more Divine Talismans appeared in General Long’s hand. He tossed them to the side, and the moment they made contact with the giant trees, they erupted in a blazing inferno. These Divine Talismans contained the Fire of Burning Wood, given to him by the National Preceptor to incinerate the Spirit Race Forest and destroy the Illusionary Array.

Though many of the giant trees were now burning, the Illusionary Array remained active, much to his immense frustration.

SWOOSH!

Wielding the Red Dragon Spear, General Long swung it fiercely, and tyrannical Dragon Power erupted outwards. He transformed into a red streak of light, shooting forward, achieving a state of Man and Spear Unity! A giant tree suddenly appeared in his path, but he blasted straight through it, leaving a massive hole in its trunk!

He barely paused for an instant before continuing to charge forward at incredible speed. His tyrannical power was unstoppable, allowing him to effortlessly pierce through everything in his way. Now utterly enraged, he refused to believe he couldn’t break the Illusionary Array by simply charging straight ahead.

Combined with his Heaven-rank weapon, the spear’s piercing power was immense. The giant trees were completely unable to withstand his savage assault.

"Looks like General Long has been driven mad. And now, he’s the only one left." Yi Tianyun watched the general charge into the distance, a mocking smile on his face. ’It’s not just him; any expert would be driven mad by this situation.’

’No matter which way you turn, you can’t escape. How could you not go mad?’

But now, General Long was the only one left; all the other Dragon Soldiers had been taken care of. ’I wonder if he’d cough up blood from anger if he knew?’ he thought. ’The best part is, I captured all of those Earth Dragons and even had them follow me back to the clan’s territory for a bit.’

With so many Earth Dragons trailing behind them, Yi Tianyun couldn’t very well demonstrate storing them in his Pet Slot in front of her. After all, making a living creature vanish into thin air was an astonishing ability. To date, storage items capable of holding living beings were few and far between; one would need an extremely rare Living Space for that.

Only those rare Living Spaces could hold Demon Beasts—or even people—without issue. But such things were exceptionally rare, and if she were to ask about it, Yi Tianyun wouldn’t know how to explain himself.

"True, but he’s incredibly difficult to handle. His power is immense; there’s no way to fight him head-on. All we can do is try to wear him down in here," Ye Qingxuan said, her brow furrowed. "But letting him rampage like this isn’t a solution, either. His frantic destruction will still have a major impact on the Illusionary Array."

The Illusionary Array was constructed using the giant trees as its foundation. If all the Spirit Wood here were to be leveled, the array would naturally lose its effect. However, there was a vast amount of Spirit Wood. The real worry was that he might stumble upon and destroy some of the array’s key points by chance. If that happened, he could very well break into the heart of the Spirit Race’s territory.

No grand array is absolutely perfect. Especially when faced with such berserk power, it’s entirely possible for it to be broken through sheer brute force.

"That’s true," Yi Tianyun said with a smile, "but we can target his mount now." He was very interested in that Red Dragon. ’If I capture this Red Dragon, I wonder if General Long will truly go insane?’

"You want to capture that Red Dragon?" Ye Qingxuan was stunned. "That Red Dragon’s cultivation is nothing to scoff at—it’s at the seventh or eighth layer of the Core Transformation Stage! Its power is tyrannical. If you try to subdue it, won’t you just get swatted to death?"

"What else?" Yi Tianyun said gravely. "He and that Red Dragon share a deep bond. They coordinate perfectly, allowing them to greatly amplify their power. Subduing the Red Dragon first is the crucial step."

"But its cultivation level is so high..." Ye Qingxuan knew that Yi Tianyun’s own cultivation was impressive, but this was a Divine Beast at the seventh or eighth layer of the Core Transformation Stage. It could even hold its own against a Void Spirit Stage expert.

"Don’t worry. Just watch me. You stay here; I’ll go subdue it myself!"

Without waiting for her reply, Yi Tianyun immediately flew toward the Red Dragon. As he drew near, he concealed his presence and dropped to the ground, no longer daring to fly. Due to the Red Dragon’s high cultivation level, its Perception was far superior, so he couldn’t just swagger up to it.

Just as he was about to close the distance, Yi Tianyun suddenly burst into action! Mad Damage Mode activated instantly. The Dragon God Bloodline and the Profound Celestial Divine Technique surged within him, erupting with an aura that pressed down like a colossal mountain.

The Red Dragon didn’t even have time to react before Yi Tianyun’s fist slammed into it. THUD! The dragon let out a pained cry as the heavy blow smashed it into the ground.

BOOM!

The Red Dragon crashed heavily to the earth, carving out a large crater and sending shockwaves rippling through the air. The scene left Ye Qingxuan utterly shocked. Anyone else would have likely broken their own fist punching the beast, yet here it was, the Red Dragon, that had been wounded.

His power was so tyrannical! ’It feels like he’s already at the peak of the Core Transformation Stage,’ she thought. ’It’s even comparable to the level the Spirit Race Ancestor was at before he was poisoned!’

"Capture!"

Planting his foot on the Red Dragon’s back, Yi Tianyun immediately used his Capture Skill. A ring of light enveloped the beast in an attempt to subdue it.

ROAR!

The Red Dragon struggled violently, flinging him into the air. The Capture Skill failed instantly.

’Damn it, a failure... Is it this hard to capture something even with Intermediate Mastery?’

Yi Tianyun frowned. He had captured dozens of Earth Dragons, causing his Beginner Pet Capture Mastery to level up to Intermediate long ago. This had significantly raised the level of beasts he could capture and greatly increased his success rate, but he had still failed.

Clearly, this Red Dragon was simply too powerful. On top of that, its loyalty to its master was extremely high, making it incredibly difficult to subdue.

’But this just makes it more interesting,’ he thought. ’I refuse to believe I can’t subdue you!’ A glint flashed in Yi Tianyun’s eyes as he prepared to try again.
